Hi I started a thread for October. I am doing Beyond the scale now ahead of the green plan coming out yet. I get 20 points and 1120 calories daily

amyrs may I ask how you came up with the 20? I am kind of confused because the minimum dailies on BTS /πare 30. If you happen to have old program materials for the BTS plan make sure to grab them out until the new plan is actually released. And if you have any questions, just ask and I will answer them if I can. π

amyrs, Going below 1200 calories is not recommended by any healthy diet plan. Unless your Dr has approved it stick to at least 1200 for good nutrition. And as Deb stated Beyond the scale or green plan has A MINIMUM of 30 points plus weeklies. Please donβt starve yourself!

If you happen to have old program materials for the BTS plan make sure to grab them I found my original program materials from Beyond the Scale, and the note my Leader gave me when she calculated my Daily and Weekly Points. As a female, 65 years of age, and 165 pounds with 15 more to lose, she figured I got 30 Daily Smart Points and 28 Weekly Smart Points. In addition, I got 32 Fit Points each week. The Beyond the Scale Zero-Point list was pretty limited. It assumed that you ate meat and eggs and dairy to meet your nutritional requirements. I also found the Pocket Guide from Beyond the Scale, which gives the smart points value for commonly tracked foods. It's important to note that the Smart Points food values under the original Beyond the Scale are different from today's Smart Points food values. You cannot use today's Smart Points values with the Beyond the Scale program! amyrs , I understand that you are vegan and eat a lot of fruits and veggies and get your protein from legumes. It seems to me that you would prosper with a wider range of Zero-Point foods that come closer to meeting your vegan life-style. When the official program materials are released in the United States, you might want to take a closer look at the 300+ item Zero-Point list that goes with the updated version of the Simply Filling Purple plan. I think it was planned to meet the needs of vegans.

I mean the whole wheat bread and 4 boca vegan burgers and 4 tablespoons of ketchup without added sugar plus my fruits and veggies come to 20 points. It would be over 16 for purple. . I know it is 30 but what else should I eat. Maybe almonds.

amyrs I agree with susieaz and ladymajky , do you by any chance have any program materials like Freestyle or beyond the scale? It is impossible to do WW without having something to reference and even though they did away with the Good Health Guidelines I strongly urge you to try and get as many in in a day as you can. It is really impossible to try and do the new programs yet until they actually get released and we have access to the food lists. We just opened up these boards so when the time comes everything is ready and people could chat about what they might try, etc.. π I think you mentioned you are a meeting member, if so I urge you to stay after for the getting started session, they are really informative and explain the program. Make sure to ask the leader to clarify anything you might not clearly understand. That is what they are there for! π

amyrs, I guess I really can't wrap my head around you eating so many boca burgers! If it was me, I would be looking for more variety in my hunt for vegan protein. The points allowance provides a little more leeway to experiment with vegan recipes--especially desserts. Although, as I sit and think about it, most desserts involve eggs or dairy (whipped cream!). It would be a challenge.

^ this. We know you are vegan but maybe try some beans in there for your protein source for something different.
You might want to check out our vegan/vegetarian board here for more ideas, also our recipe board.

Beyond the Scale is a good plan. When the information comes out, stay for the meeting. Talk to the coach about ways to make it work with a well-rounded vegan meal plan. It is possible to vary your menus, stay within budget, and stay on plan. Eating the same thing every day does not give you a good nutritional balance, and meal boredom will make it easier to fall off plan.
