I also do all my shopping on line, what that is of it. I only send an Amazon gift card to my brother and SIL. There is a gift exchange with DH's family. We haven't drawn the names yet; in fact they usually do it at Thanksgiving, so I'm hoping they will skip it this year. I do most of my shopping online as well. Years ago dh and I used to take a day off from work together and do all of our shopping (in the stores). We've cut way back, now pretty much only buy for our dds. He said to me "We need to set aside a day to do our shopping for the girls". Huh? I don't know what he thinks we're going to get them that I haven't already ordered.

Hi...No, shopping here, either. We have a thick glaze of ice on the roads & expecting 40 mph winds, 9-12" of snow thru Sunday. UGH! I will be snuggled down reading. Enjoy your weekend! Oh Linda, that makes me shiver to think about it. Hope you have a good book and maybe some peppermint schnapps along with a roaring fire.

Just online shopping mostly here. And only for the grandkids. We decided as a family years ago to stop giving to the adults. My daughter sends me an email with all the items so it's soooo easy. No more toys - they want clothes, shoes, wall hangings. 2 teens and 1 age 11. American Girl dolls and Barbies are losing their charm for my 11-year old granddaughter. Sigh.... I have never gone to the malls or big box stores for Black Friday. Hope I'm not missing anything, but I strongly doubt I am. To each his/her own - I know some folks just love it!

We have not been shopping on BF since "the great furby fiasco of '96". Furby were a new hot toy and we wanted one for our son, so we were at the mall for a K-Bee toys (remember them?) store BF sale -got there at 3am, store opened at 6am. We were 9th in line, by 6 there were probably 300 people there. Sales person opens the gate thing and yells "Who's here for furby!?" and everyone at the end of the line rushed forward, shoving people and knocking several older people down, kids, etc. Up until that point, it had been civil and everyone was in a good mood. We ended up with number 127 (they let 30 people in the store at a time) so 2+ hours later, DH goes in and he gets a rain check because they only had 10 furby anyway. Since then -we have not bothered with it lol.

Will the JA send anyone to the hearings? Most likely not because none of them can possibly testify in his favor without perjuring themselves. Still I wish he would if only an attorney to ask questions. His loyal beguiled base, however, will willingly swallow the "I don't want to give any validity to this baseless witch hunt" line. Not once will they say, "If you're innocent why don't your people go and testify so?" I still keep hearing pundits on TV say that even more damning evidence will come out in the judicial hearing, and that it's still possible that the Republican senate will do the right thing and impeach. I think they're living in a dream world if they really believe that. I don't see a chance in you know where that Republicans will vote to convict. I sure wish they would prove me wrong.

*waves* I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend.
We always stay home on Black Friday to avoid the crazy. I did a little online shopping yesterday and have just a few more things to get. Super high winds on Thursday forced the delay of the big bonfire until today. We're heading out there in just a few minutes. I'm grateful for my weekly points! DB#1 handed me a little box that was wrapped with a bow on Thanksgiving. Inside was a new coffee mug that read: I hate when I wake up in the morning and Donald Trump is president. lol

Snowy, windy, icy & cold Saturday here. DS & DGS were on there way back from MT hunting, & since the weather & roads were so bad, they decided to ride out the storm here. So that was a nice surprise. They live 2 hours from my home, but State advised no travel till maybe tomorrow. Other than that, nice quiet weekend here. Been reading, & now doing some cooking for the unexpected peeps...LOL I suppose next week it will be glued to the TV again. I guess, I wasn't aware of what these hearings were going to be.
Stay warm!

conniefromct , yes, thank goodness for the Grand Nephews and one Grand Niece, so we can still buy toys for Christmas. The oldest one is 10 but the youngest is not a year old yet. We have a few days of heavy rain predicted; could be up to 5-9 inches by Tuesday. Then I guess it will all be heading your way. My brother is in Minnesota so it could be worse. And we know folks in Palo and Aurora which are a ways north of Duluth. Those people are tough, and they are mainly widows living on their own. They tell me it gets so cold sometimes it will be too cold for snow.

doordie50, I love the coffee mug! Tell your DB that is the best gift of the year. Enjoy the bonfire. That sounds like so much fun! Hot chocolate and marshmallows! Maybe even s'mores! Yummy!
