Trump himself had vowed to fight the lawsuit, tweeting last year, "I won't settle this case!" -- CNN
Ummmmm Hmmmmm, same song and the same verse. He shouts he's innocent and won't settle about EVERYTHING, then he ends up paying either because he's ordered by the court or he settles to stop further inquiry. He literally does this about everything--Trump University, porn stars, etc., etc., etc. and now Trump Foundation. Just a sleazy bunch of grifters, the whole family.

Have any of you seen the clips from Jr on The View? I don't watch The View, but have since seen You Tube clips. What a smug, self-righteous little ____. The apple sure didn't fall far from that tree. He must make Daddy proud!
I'm hearing mixed reviews about Bloomberg's jumping into the nomination race. I had thought that was a bad idea, but I'm hearing some fairly persuasive arguments so now I'm not sure what I think about the idea. Do any of you have an opinion?

nashville11, I do watch The View, at least the first half hour when the topics are political. DT Jr. is like Trump Lite. His girlfriend was annoying as well.

Good news! I was really saddened when I read a post on FB saying she had died. Thanks DotRen,

What's the deal with John Bolton? I've never liked him, and don't trust him. So is he sending signals that he wants to testify because he wants to bring the JA down or is he doing that because he secretly plans to drop a bombshell and try to save the JA in order to get back into good favor and help the Republicans. He's been a strong, stalwart Conservative for a long time.
Next week promises to be interesting with or without John Bolton and his tantalizing possibility of a cliff hanger.

"Transcripts depict Trump as fickle, susceptible to flattery and prone to grudges" -- CNN website
---------
Surprise, surprise! Isn't that exactly what we've seen from him from Day 1. He changes his mind on a dime with no rhyme or reason, soaks up flattery like a sponge (i.e. Sessions sucking up with his new ad trying to win back his Senate seat), and if you cross him or he perceives that somehow you've crossed him he never moves past it. So absolutely nothing new there. He has no loyalty even to people who have been loyal to him and most certainly he has no loyalty to the country. There's not a patriotic bone in his body. He is what he is. He's never going to change, and we've got to get him out of office. Likely that won't be from impeachment because I can't imagine a scenario where the spineless Republican Senate will vote to convict, so we've got to nominate a candidate who can beat him in the general. It won't be easy, but it can be done. It has to be done. Otherwise, we'll be just another banana republic with a dictator.

Hi ladies! I decided with the hearings starting this week, it would be a good time to jump back in so I can read all your opinions of the day. Jeez, tho, I had a hard time finding the link again. Thought I lost you forever. LOL....I finally had to re-register, etc. Anyway, its been Winter here already since about the first of October, snow, snow, snow. I'm on the edge of Cabin Fever already, I think! I'm so addicted to the news, that I have kept up everyday, swearing at the TV, etc. But to tell you the truth, I'm so afraid JA is going to get re-elected for another 4 years. That just terrifies me!

@lka48, nice to "see" you. I recommend PBS nightly news for a good summary if, like me, you get caught up in the news more than your mental health can take.

Linda, so happy to see you back! That makes my day! You have been missed. Hope all is well with all your family. It's in the 60s here today, but Tuesday the high is only supposed to be low 30s, so that hurts. I know you are probably laughing at what a wimp I am. lani, that's a good suggestion about the PBS nightly news. I also am terrified that this JA is going to get a second term despite everything that he has done. I have no faith whatsoever in polls anymore, so I won't relax until after the last vote is counted. Then if he gets re-elected for a second term I just absolutely give up. Can I hold my breath until November 3, 2020? Guess I'll find out.

@lka48 , Good to see you back. I was never sure why you left. I find it hard to keep track of everyone since names and usernames are different!
Like many of you, I too am sort of a wreck some days, and I hate not knowing how much longer we have to put up with Trump. This 3 years has been so hard - just the unending mental stress. And we don't have cable news all day! The PBS option sounds good.
I was encouraged by the voting on Tuesday, especially that Matt Bevin lost in KY. I had heard he was 5 points ahead in the polls but went down after Trump campaigned for him at the rally. YAY! Wait, did he lose?? I don't think he's conceded yet.

@lka48 , It's so good to have you back Linda. And, I was just groaning about the cold snap coming lol
I saw coverage of rally goers this morning and I'm amazed how much conspiracy theories and alternative facts continue to get traction. Just wow.
