Hey Phyl! Thanks for attempting to send the pattern, I hope you did not try too long or too hard- and that it was not frustrating for you. Thanks for the idea to check out the video on MSQ. That should work out fine. Was it an easy pattern to follow?
Babysitting day.....only 4 more hours to go. Kids are being pretty good despite that its lousy outside. I made a simple craft with them. Ginny

Good morning dear fellow crafters. It's a beautiful morning here. It's nice and sunny and fairly warm. We'll have one more day of warm until the temp plummets. Ginny, you must have a lot less hours of babysitting to go. I know the children love to have you there doing crafts with them. CJ, I hope you enjoyed your programs last night Phyl, I know you're going to have a fun day. Most of yours seem like they are fun. Sue, hope all is going well with you Last night I made a crochet hat with a heart crocheted right into it. I think online it's called Valentine's day hat. It turned out pretty good and it's pretty fast and easy too so I probably will be making more of these. I think this one might be for my 2 year old greatgrandaughter so I'm going to make one also for her 2 month old sister. They're nice and warm too because this particular one is made in all front post stitches so it's thick. I need to start deciding what yarn to take with me on our trip and what patterns I need to write out or go to library to print. Since we'll be there for probably 4 months I need a lot of both to keep me occupied although I'm sure there will be a lot to do but we night not have unlimited internet and right now I do spend a lot of time on my computer. Of course there are a lot of other things I need to get together to take too but crochet is my priority And yes they have a walmart not far away and probably craft stores but I don't really wand to buy more yarn and dh keeps telling me to take a lot but he's the one that pointed out the Hobby Lobby stores in some of the towns we were looking at. Have a wonderful day all and I'll see you later

Phyl, it sounds like they feel that just keeping tabs on things regarding your high platelet count will be all that's needed right now. I pray that they will be lower next time you have blood tested. And it's great that you are being proactive about your diabetes and seeing the diabetic educator and dietician to review how to handle everything.
Spent some of the day going thru things in the garage as it's a nice warm day. I bagged up a lot of unwanted things then dh came out to "help". Mostly he's a hindrence rather than a help because of his need to keep things "just in case". I did get three big bags full though that he won't be going thru and I can get rid of and several other bags that aren't quite full yet. I can sure see a lot of things on the shelves that need to find a new home!.Luckily we now have every week trash collection so can get rid of a lot. I also broke down boxes that he was keeping in case we needed to return things to a store. Well the items that came in most of those boxes are way long past the date by which they could have been returned. Now they're all flat and waiting to go to the trash barrel in a week when there's room for them. Or if we need to pack things we can always tape them back up but at least now you can actually walk a little in the garage.
Got all cleaned up after the rummaging, Had lunch, and am now ready to sit and crochet

Ruth, I had to chuckle at your comment about your hb keeping boxes in case things need to be sent back. Mine tries to do that, too. I left them alone for years. Now I figure that if I can't get rid of his 30+ year old clothes that I will at least get rid of the boxes! For sure, they aren't needed after the warranty is up! Fire hazard, too!
I picked up my orthotics this morning. It will probably be a week of adjusting to them, but they are great so far. At some point, if I want to I can have another pair made from the casts for half price, so the casts are safely stored on the closet shelf.
It's very cloudy and dark. A storm has just moved in, and it's snowing. hb mentioned that the lawn guy was out back working on the leaves. He must have ESP because earlier I had been thinking about letting him know that the last of the snow was finally gone. We had talked just a few days ago about leaving the rest of the leaves until spring. That was a really good arrangement. I had a giant leaf mulcher/ tow behind vacuum that I couldn't use because of back problems. He got to use it, and my fall yard cleanup was free. Good trade, and I think I'm the one who came out ahead. I have room to store it, and he doesn't. He is such a nice guy very conscientious, and has a lot of integrity.
The snow is supposed to stop around noon tomorrow, but it's not supposed to start for another couple of hours. Definitely an inaccurate science with built in mysteries!

Good evening,
Sue so glad you got your orthotics. I know it seemed like forever to you I, but the wait did not seem to be 22 patients long to me. I really hope that they accomplish what you and the doctor are hoping that they will do. they do take about a week to get used to but are nice to have. Best of luck with them!!! Yes I think you made out well with that arrangement with the lawn guy. And a blessing that he is conscientious!! Hope you do not get too much snow.
Phyl, I checked out the video and it is such a cute project. Will have to book mark it and get to it sometime. What is the colored pattern for, the same project? I can private message you with my address....is the pattern for the same project or something different? Sounds like prudent advice regarding your treatments. Think its always a good idea not to jump the gun and being that the medication has been effective to date, well lets see how it goes from here. I too will be praying that your platelets will come down to normal levels. Hope you feel better and the runny nose goes away..... Congrats on getting the living room coat closet straightened up!
Ruth, when I went to liquidate my mom’s house, I think she saved every single shipping box she ever got, just in case. I threw them all out. (Ha ha ha). Bet she is cursing me for all the stuff I got rid of that she felt was so valuable. Anyway, well, Its really sweet of your Dh to find all the Hobby lobby stores on the way to your new home, they do have good sales and nice yarn. Yes, I think its a great idea to print out your favorite patterns to take with you. We will miss you here if you do not have good internet access....I am really glad that you were able to get 3 bags out, despite Dh’s assistance.
I have a charity coming to take some stuff from me on Thursday. I am not as organized as I would like to be for this pick up, but hope that tomorrow I can get small donation together. Got some things that we NEVER use, so why not donate them.
I did get all the rows of the Christmas tree skirt sewn. Now to put them together....and get the backing/ batting done. I will pick up the thread to topstitch it on Thursday at the small sewing store in town.
Funny story at the Hobby Lobby the other day. I was at the fabric cutting table and the woman who was cutting my fabric asked what it was for. I told her it was for my pastors wife, who is also my friend. She told me she was also a pastors wife....and I asked her which church. Turns out her husband is pastor of a small church that my MIL used to attend on occasion. Small world

Ginny, it sounds as though you got a lot done already on the tree skirt. Won't be long and it will be completely done. that is a funny story about the woman at the cutting table being the wife of the pastor of the small church your mil attended. I do like that the employees in fabric stores and craft stores always seem interested in what you're going to make with the supplies you bought. Mostly I was just buying them and didn't have a specific project in mind. That's how I ended up with so much fabric and yarn. Things we never use are still not in my dh's plan of disposing of things. We have things we brought with us 31 years ago...have never used, and he still wants to hold onto them. Of course I should talk. I brought good china with me and I think I actually did use it once but then it was packed up and put away again and has been collecting dust in the storage space beneath the stairs. But in the last few years I've really worked on disposing of a lot of my unneeded things...things like knick knacks, etc.Today found a cat bed and pet food dishes in the garage. I think the last cat we had was 28 years ago when my oldest dgs was a year old.we still have the Habitrail for the gerbils and a water bottle for the guinea pig my son had as a child.and I won't even mention the aquariums, fish bowls and other fish paraphenalia that is out there...oh and bird cages too. Haven't had a bird since we moved here. oh and also found an old rawhide bone.(that immediately went into the trash as did the pet food dish.
Sue, It was really warm here today but, like Montana, we're going to get snow tomorrow also.Weather sure changes fast in our areas. Sounds like your hubby is much like mine. I agree with both of you about the deal you made with the yard guy..I had fun raking leaves with the grandchildren back in 2006 but now it's not something I'd like to do for myself.
I still haven't got to crafting except to read the posts on the crochet groups.

Advice please... I also have my mothers silverware that I brought with me from NY. It's never been used either but now I'm thinking of actually using it but of course it's all tarnished...what kind of silver polish is good?

Ruth, there is a process by which you can use baking soda aluminum and vinegar (I think) check it out on YouTube..If the silverware is sterling and not silver plate that is ok to use. (Also if the silver is not too tarnished. If you need to actually rub it, Haggertys is a good brand. And then buy those no tarnish strips to keep in with the silver so it never tarnishes again.
Ruth, do you have a local pet shelter to donate all the pet supplies to??
Busy day, Got DGS and DGD#2 here. Its in the low 40’s and we have already been to the park! Great way to burn off energy.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today and that your weather is not too bad It's been cloudy and cool here today, but supposed to be sunnier tomorrow. I kind of enjoy a cloudy day from time to time, especially with the cool breeze there was today. I haven't been doing any crafting, but I did watch a few videos that were good. One of them was for yo-yos which is something I've been wanting to make. I bought all the yo-yo makers years ago, but have never used them. I think they are cute to sew onto a quilt wallhanging. I wrote some bills and Thanksgiving cards today and I'll get out tomorrow to mail them. I'm also going to get a few groceries tomorrow. I'm pretty stocked up on most things, so I don't need that much. But I started my list with only about 6 things on it and before I knew it there were about 20 items At least now I shouldn't have to go in the grocery store before Thanksgiving. This next week gets really crazy with everyone buying food for the holiday. Take care everyone!

Thank you ladies for the advice on the silver. I don't really know much about silverware...it's just the normal things sppons, forks, knives, and serving utensils. It's probably silver plate. I haven't even looked at it in years.
Can't believe I'm just getting here now.. As prdicted it was a cold day and started snowing at about 10am and has been snowing all day. I was planning on errands tomorrow but I may have to put it off until Friday or even Monday depending on when I get the info I need to take care of business.
I've been crocheting and got 4 earwarmers done last evening and today.
