MEG IS BACK !!!!!!!!!! Meg, we missed you!! Welcome back!So happy you are with us and even if you are not crafting, we love chatting with you anyway. Remember how little crafting I did when I was working full time- and no one threw me off the board! What color afghan did you end up making for Dd? I remember you were in the designing stage of that when we lost contact with you. How far along are you on your own afghan? Stop in to visit when you can- even if nothing more than for a friendly hug (cyber) and hello. We talk about a lot more than just crafting here and are thrilled to have you back.
Ruth, cleaning up a crafting area surely counts!! With all you have going on now, its a wonder you find time to crochet. Good memory, you have. Meg is the audio book queen. What a good idea to do listen to a book while crochetting.
Got the tree skirt together, all pinned for final top stitching. I will be using a variegated thread for the top stitch and for the stitching around the edge a fancy star stitch that my machine does. Decided last night that instead of a random stipple I will use that quilting template for the body of the skirt. I bought the thing and might as well use it!
Had to move my machine back downstairs, Dh finds it too noisy. Oh well. Guess he is right and the rest of the work on this tree skirt is all machine work. See ya later Ginny

Hi Meg! It's good to see you. I don't know how many years ago we met online, but it's been at least a decade, maybe closer to two!
There's a brisk breeze this morning. Things are revving up for some snow tonight, also later in the week. I think I heard zero degrees mentioned as I was heading for bed last night. Not for tonight but for a few days out. Brrrr!

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the weekend Meg - It's so great to see you posting, I hope you have been well. Did you watch the last season of Poldark on PBS? I was kind of sad to see it end, but nice that mostly everyone had a happy ending to their stories. Ginny - I'm glad you've almost finished the tree skirt. Were you keeping that for yourself, or is it a gift? The colors of the fabrics sounds wonderful, I'm sure it will be beautiful. Sue - That light show does sound like something that would be fun to go to. I hope your grocery shopping goes well and you can get a turkey for you to eat later. Ruth - I'm sure if feels good to get some thing cleared up. I hope you enjoyed your soup. Phyl - Hope you are getting some crafting in this weekend. It's a pretty sunny day here, but cool. Yesterday was cloudy with rain late in the day in evening. I'll be checking out the Slow Sunday Stitching blogs today. There is one lady on there who does embroidery type stitching and she has done an autumn piece that really amazes me. Here's a link to her blog with a photo of it: notesfromstudiob.blogspot.com/2019/11/daily-stitching-4-is-done.htmlI just can't imagine all the stitches in it but she has done an excellent job with the design and colors. I had hoped that I didn't need to go to the grocery store this coming week, but there are a few things I need so I'll go out one morning and get them. One of the grocery stores I go to has a program where you get 10 cents off a gallon of gas for each $100 you spend. I need to spend $3 to get 40 cents off each gallon and that is going to expire soon so I want to go in that store and spend $3 and then go gas up my car. Never hurts to save money Take care everyone!

Good morning all. It's sunny and in 40's here but the wind is terrible. No one would believe how bad the wind is right here at my house becausse if you drive just six houses down it's not as bad.I don't think we've had wind THIS bad the whole time we've lived here. Yes it's been very strong but this is even worse.
Meg, again, it's so good to have you back. You see that Sue has joined us. Yes you were both on the WW board way back when I first found it back when I was working and that's been over 15 years. ay Ginny you're really coming along with that tree skirt. It will be done soon.I'm sorry to hear that your dh is bothered by the sound of your machine. My dh is sensitive to sounds also
CJ, thanks for reminding me about the gas discount. I spent over $100 at the store the other day so I should have the 10 cent discount. Since I don't go out much I don't use much gas though but I'll get what I can. How long do those discounts last? From the way they state it I've never been able to figure out how long the discount was good for
Well I did make two earwarmers last night. I just have to get my pile of them together and do the sewing for the twist in them so they aren't completely done. And Ginny, as far as time to crochet goes well There are definitely other things I should be doing but crocheting is usually relaxing to me so I procrastinate on the other things
Sue I'm sorry to hear that your dh is declining. It must be so hard on you to see him like this and think of the future. That's one of the reason we're moving to be closer to our son
Phyl, what are you up to this weekend.

Ruth - the gas discounts I get are good for only 30 days from when I earned the points. I have an online account for the store so I can go in and check my points and when they are going to expire. You might be able to set something like that up. Actually I checked the grocery store account today and it's saying I only have 323 points, but the last register receipt I have from a few days ago shows 397 points, so I wonder which is correct. I would think the register receipt might be more accurate - guess I'll find out I drive so rarely too that I only need to fill up once a month usually so I sometimes lose the points.

Last all that discount was great because I had 25cents off/gal and then paid with my discover card which gave me a 5% discount too and that was when we were going on our trip and filled up the tank which we had let get low so were about to get a lot of gas

Good evening all,
So nice that we all have our fond memories of Meg. Sue, I had no idea that you and Meg have known each other that long. Hope you can stay nice and warm despite the very cold temps. Did you ever complete that scarf you were making?
CJ- that autumn piece (looks like a table topper?) with all that hand stitching is amazing. What a fine attention to color and detail. Thanks for sharing that with us. Hope you can figure out your points for the gas discount. If we know you, you will be out tomorrow morning before the real loonies get out as the week goes on. Its always nice to get a break on gas- even if you do not use all that much.
Ruth, well I am glad you got to make those two ear warmers. Nice to have something like crocheting to relax to. Easy to pick up and accomplish something. Did the wind ever calm down?
Got the tree skirt all hand sewn and the decorative stitch on the edge completed. This thing has SO many mistakes on it!!! It does not look bad from a distance- but up close is a nightmare. I will get to using the quilting ruler maybe tomorrow or Tuesday...Hope that that process does not go too badly. I do want this done by the end of next weekend. Ginny
