Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today 
I finished the Lone Star quilt and I'm glad it's done. It took me several hours today to finish putting it together. Now I'll have to decide if I want to add any sashing or border.
I'm ready to start on another project - I want to make an Easter Bunny themed quilt with some pretty Springtime fabric I have in pink, aqua, yellow and lilac and I'll use the bunny fabric I bought recently at JoAnn's. Here's a link to what the fabric looks like:

Ruth - Alot of my house needs vacuuming too. I'd like to get one of those robot things, but there is so much furniture in this house it would just keep bouncing off things all the time 
Meg - I hope you can get your Nook fixed. I couldn't make it without my Kindle. I'm always reading a book and enjoy them so much.
Phyl - Glad you had a good time at Sit and Sew. You could make a Lone Star quilt using the Quiltsmart method, the product does make it easy, just time consuming.
Ginny - Hope you are doing well today.

ruth they wil be sold in november at our church's holiday fair.
Elayne left with a bunch of others when they went to another board. since then some of them have gone to facebook. I don't do facebook. phyl |

Ginny, I hope your cats loss of interest in eating is just a temporary thing and that he's ok. Driving a school bus much be both interesting and frustrating. One of my neighbors drove one for years.She does seem to be a person that nothing bothers. She's lived her longer than I have...over 25 years and I still haven't got to know her.You must be really good at both driving and dealing with children esp since you teach it also.
Phyl, I don't do facebook either. I have an account but I just go there to see the pictures of the great grandboys that the kids post there.
I think you did say that you were making dishcloths to sell at the church's fair. My poor feeble brain just forgot.
CJ, same here. We have too much stuff for a robot vacuum to work besides all the alcoves, etc. Plus it would probably fall down the stairs.
Ginny, yes I did start an angel dishcloth. They're easy although in looking at the picture I thought the one part would be hard. It wasn't so I should be able to get at least two done this evening and I think I mentioned that I want to do another tea light holder with less stitches...still haven't done that.
Now I'm gonna go see what dh is up to.Oh probably watching the news... I see it's just 6 now.

CJ, I also went to see the fabric you mentioned. It's beautiful and better yet on sale. However it says it's not available for shipping and we don't have a store here.Butno big deal. I'm not going to sew right now anyway.
Ginny, you've had so much going on. As you said, with your mil passing and all the other things you are a busy woman. I'm sure not in any hurry for the instructions. I mostly only sew in the summer anyway because there's no room in my "apartment" for my sewing machine plus, as you said, I'm doing all this crocheting right now anyway.
The hats, well they're easy and don't take much time. If I did three a week that would be a lot for the year..156 so I'm striving for that.I'm trying to make more slouchy hats now since they're popular with most ages and both make and female. Most people love to make little girl hats so our leader is always asking for people to please make boy's and men's hats so I'm trying to do more of those.I have the color green that the Seatlle Seahawks use in their uniforms so woulld like to make it with navy. Not that people here are Seahawk fans...they're not but those colors go together so nicely
And Meg, I love the color combo you mentioned for your knittied blanket. I hope you can get your nook fixed. Yes I would either take it to B&N or call then and see what they say. Maybe they have an email address.
Ok I"m getting off here and stop putting off those projects. I don't know why I do that. I do like making things but I guess I like putting things off better.

I will be heading off to bed soon. I did take myself over to Barnes & Nobler again with my Nook. I was hoping that the lady who knows all about Nooks was there but she went home sick today. I talked to the man I talked to last time and he doesn't know much more than I do. So he went off to get the manager and it took him a few mins and it works again so I am so happy I can listen to audio books with the head phones while I knit. I have missed doing that so much. So today I got quite a lot of knitting done. I worked on both b/blankets a couple of hours on each one.
Ginny, Hope your kitty will be ok, is she/he very old? When I went to B& N today I was going to get the address to send my Nook off to be repaired. It just needed a minor adjustment. The people at B&N are very good about helping when I have a problem. But I have to go in when they are working. Not all of the staff are trained to help with the Nook. I get lost when it comes to electronics. It's all double Dutch to me. I will have to wait for my next eye appt. late in April to find out more about my cataract. The Dr. mentioned it when I had my last apt she said something about surgery.
Ruth, I think you remember more of the poster on the old WW bosrds than I do. Rlayne left the WW boards and posts on FB and she also joined Ravelery ?. I remember Yvonne because she was 1 yerar and 1 day younger than me. We used to celebrate our b/days together every year. Mickie & Truckee are the same person I think. I haven't heard from her for years.
Phyl. My you have been busy. It is fun meeting with other women who share your same interests. That's why I enjoy my Knit Wits Gp.

Meg, it makes me happy to learn that your Nook can be repaired and was adjusted at B&N. Yippee!!!
CJ- the bunny fabric is adorable- what a lovely quilt it will make. Congrats on finishing the Lone Star- have you decided to bind or sash it?
Ruth - yes, I love my wood burner....even heat, so very toasty warm. Such a mess though!! Wow.....153 hats! That is unbelievable....yes those slouchy hats are popular and cute. Easy to make too!
Phyl- you too have been super busy....have done an impressive amount of work making items for charitable organizations. You ladies sure put me to shame.
This particular cat, is our oldest.....around 20 years old. He decided to move in with us when he was around 10 and never told me his age. His age is a guess by the vet.
He looks darned good for a cat his age- even the vet is shocked. And he is a most loveable animal- the most affectionate of our 3, which I think because he knows what it is like to be homeless. We sort of guessed his history and figure he was without a home for about a year.
Back to face the teenagers.....and little kids.

Meg, I'm so glad the nook is fixed and it was a simple fix. yes, at those stores it just depends on the day you go whether or not there's someone there that can actually help and I'm glad that manager was there and was able to do that.
Ginny, well you work, we don't. Phyl does have a lot of activities so she has less time than I do but I do have a lot of time to do all these things. Do I use the time wisely..no I don't usually but I've been reading a lot about gifts God gives us and time is one of them. He doesn't expect us to be on the go every minute and He does like us to relax but I've been doing way too much relaxiing and not enough doing.
Last night I did work on one of the angel dishcloths. I think it's really too heavy to use as a dishcloth though. So maybe she'll just use it with the other hanging angel as decoration. I don't really think it would be very effective to use to wipe off a table or countertops. As Phyl said, probably no crochet dishcloths work all that well.Later I'll make some that are lighter and larger that can actually be used because now that I said they don't work well, I do think that if you used a looser stitch they would be ok...just mulling this over.
Well I do think we'll go out tomorrow so I'd better work on revising my shopping list and getting those letters done that I keep talking about so that I can mail them while out. Have to do some things around the house to so that they'll be done when I get home tired tomorrow.

Wednesday already and we are 1/2 way through another week.
Ruth, I do a great job at wasting time. Though when I am knitting I am not wasting time and when we are making things for others that is not a waste of time. With regard to the dish clothes. I did make some for my own use and I did not like them so I don't make them if I can help it. I see pictures of all the different colors and patterns but like you say they don't work well for wiping up counter tops. What I like to use for that chore is a shami cloth. I buy a packet of the large sheets and cut a sheet into size I need. They are great as you can squeeze all the water out and they are great for counter tops. Of course you can clean your windows with them.
No knitting today so far but I will get to it this afternoon. Devin got out of school early today sao he will be here all afternoon. But he isn't a problem if he can use the computer.

Meg, I usually buy the Handiwipes or the spic and Span brand of disposable dishcloths but when I cleaned out under the sink for dh to be able to put in a shut off valve I found two packs of those shami cloths that I forgot I had so I'll use those. I got rid of my dishwasher so I do use cloths to wash dishes too.
No making things for others is not a waste of time unless they just stash the things away and don't use them. Most things, though, are used.

I didn't do any crafting today, went out to lunch with a family member. There's a new block for the Solstice quilt today and then another new block for the Snowy Day quilt tomorrow, so I hope to work on them this week.
I'm not sure if I'll put borders on the Lone Star quilt. It's already 58 inches by 58 inches in size and it's square shaped. At least I do have enough of the material I used in it to put on borders if I want to.

Ruth - hope your shopping outing went well and that your list reflected your needs. A good list makes things so much easier!
Meg- wow you do so much crafting and are responsible for many- do not think you are wasting time at all!!!
CJ- glad you got out to lunch! Cannot wait to hear about your solstice quilt block and snowy day block. The Lone star quilt sounds like a good candidate for a simple binding- as opposed to a large border. Easier too!!
Well, I did take a stab at friendship bracelets, and do need to revisit the YouTube. I made tons of mistakes and consider what I did last night a practice run. I used colors I do not like- so the test run bracelet is expendable.

Hello everyone, it is a beautiful day here sunny and warm. I went to have my iron infusion this morning and all went well. I ate breakfast and had 2 cups of hot tea before I went. I have 2 more treatments.
I did get a lot of knitting done yesterday and will probably get some more done this afternoon, Being able to listen to an audio book makes a lot of difference. Devin get out of school early today so I have to go and pick him up.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I didn't get any crafting done because I went out and did my weekly grocery shopping and other errands. I may get in my sewing room later and pick out fabrics for the two weekly blocks. Ginny - I hope you get the hang of the friendship bracelets, I'm sure you will. I'm still thinking about putting maybe just a small border of the white fabric, so I don't have to worry about the binding touching the tips of my star on the quilt. I think it's important to see all the points. Meg - I'm glad you're enjoying your books again and that you got a lot of knitting done. Ruth and Phyl - Hope you are both well and crafting away! Meg, that is good news that you were able to get the iron infusions! The good advice that Ruth gave you came in handy! bet it's such a joy to have the Nook back- especially now that Devin and Ds are home.
CJ- wise woman you are.....yes, It is important to see the tips of the stars on the quilt. That is something I had no idea about. I made two quilted pillows (through a class at Joanns) about 5 year ago. I gotta say, the instructor, who was helpful and friendly, is hardly an expert quilter. As a matter of fact- I was the only one to sign up for the class- her first words to me were "you aren't one of those anal quilters are you ?". Well, I thought my pillow came out pretty good- and then I showed it to a coworker who has done considerable quilting. She commented on that I had clipped some of my points- but that at least I had clipped the same amount around the entire pattern so I was consistent. Oh boy did I learn a ton from her! So yes, it's important to see the points...and it sounds like you did a lovely job.
Looks like a snow day for me tomorrow but I will not know until early in the morning.
(Can you tell I am heartbroken?)
Gonna load the dishes and then watch the YouTube again.....Have a lovely evening!
