I love the looks of counted cross stitch but I've never tried it. I do knit and crochet and do a little sewing so that pretty much takes all my time.
Sure would be nice if people doing other crafts would start threads here. How about scrapbooking. There was a thread for that on the old WW boards. There are lots of other crafts that people do also that would make a good thread. Deb was kind enough to put a board on here for threads so people really need to start some threads. You could do a weekly one or daily

Hi! I used to do counted cross stitch. Even taught classes on it at our local YMCA. I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I developed carpal tunnel in my wrist and holding the needle became almost impossible. Had surgery a couple years ago, and just haven't gotten back into it. I really should try and see since I have a half dozen projects in various stages of competition. Or started anyway. My eyes aren't great, but you've inspired me to try again.
I also knit. I've made thousands of dish cloths in various patterns, chemo caps, preemie caps, and lots of other things like afghans & scarves.

@tielgirl, I tried knitting and crocheting and couldn't do it. I've done needlepoint. What is counted cross stitch as compared to regular cross stitch. Do you buy a pattern? I would love to try it.

I do counted cross stitch. I try to get a bit of stitching in before I head to work and then for an hour or so before I go to bed. I think that I have 5-6 projects started, just started a new on yesterday before work. I plan on starting one to take on a road trip that DH and I are going on this weekend. I have found a couple of facebook sights that I get my stash from since the chain craft store don't carry much of anything.

I tried looking for the sewing thread but didn't see it. Anyone here that can give me directions on how to find it?

hi, in the top left corner click on weight watchers message boards. look for over 60's click on that. a lot of thread names are gonna come up. click on sewing and crafting of any kind. click on that and there we are. becki does ccs. I do quilting and some knitting. marelene does knitting can't remember what mary does. we will be glad to have you.
also on the bootom of the 60's that tell you all the names of the thread is a thread called connections. look for the crafters. I am there and so is ruth. we do quilting ,knitting, crocheting, think there is one who does ccs.
we talk about alot of things. I think it would help if you resistered on proboards.
ww did us an injustice when they changed things.. some members went to facebook and some just stopped. phyl

First post on this site! Yes I do ccs. I had given it up several years ago and retired last year, so decided to take it up again. I'm currently working on a project that will be 2x3 feet. I guess when I jump in, I jump in with both feet, lol. I'm calling it my 5 year project. I know I won't work on it much, if at all during the summer.
