Hi, Z. Snacks are hard because I only get lunch out of the library, so I'm hungry by the time I get home even though it's too early for dinner. Not liking this job so far. Principal had a 'conversation' about how I'm not being welcoming and the kids are complaining they're scared of me, and then today when I asked a bunch of seniors to sit 2 per table (following the rule HE established right before I arrived), I got pushback and they went to complain to him. Then I get an email that I'm not being welcoming still, so I have to meet with him tomorrow. I get the feeling it's going to be 'don't reinforce the rules for the good kids'. Doesn't help that the long-time asst there already picks and chooses who has to get a pass, etc. Kind of wish it was the end of the school year so I could just quit. Also concerned that the middle school principal hasn't gotten that recommendation to me, and it's been 3 1/2 weeks since I was there. No response to my inquiry email either.
Not snowing, but still some on the ground. It's cold and rainy. Reprise on wrist surgery until he can evaluate it when it's bad. (Instead of waiting 3 weeks for an appointment.) Overall not a great week, and that's with 3 half-days (have to stay after for 2 hours now for this other meeting.)
Also concerned that there haven't been viable openings posted yet for fall. Is it summer yet?
