Linda, I didnât realize you could get bee proof feeders for the hummingbirds. I did not go out shopping. It is too crazy for me these days. It used to get me in the mood for Christmas but not any more. Good idea to make plates instead of individually freezing the leftovers. Did the weather calm down?
Becky, I hope the weather has improved so the joint ache can diminish even a little. Stretching helps me relieve arthritic pain. I still do the ones from my back PT plus others I have found.
Kathy, the ibis are odd looking birds. With that curved beak they look prehistoric. A small gathering after the big birthday bash must have been more relaxing except for the chef, of course. Did you like Big Little Lies? The trailers looked good.
Karen, not good on the tick, but you canât make anyone do what they donât want to. I hope your worry is for nothing. The one thing we didnât have was a macaroni casserole. The 3rd niece is the youngest and she has stayed up north near Mom and Dad but has her own house. She has a partner but is not married. Sounds like Sweet Potato is very smart to get her treats so quickly.
Yesterday the headache disappeared for a few hours and then came back in migraine form. By the time Iggy got home I was tucked in bed. I did get to see bird feeding time and the goldfinches showed up along with a larger red headed woodpecker. I got a picture of one of the goldfinches but the big woodpecker was too quick for me.
Iggy is cooking our own Thanksgiving dinner today which we will enjoy while cheering the Buckeyes on. It is supposed to rain all day today but a light rain. I have been out in it twice and it wasn't too bad. I had to cut some fresh sage for Iggyâs oyster soufflĂ© and go get the mail. I need some movement today after yesterday. The chill and the rain were refreshing.
Have a good Saturday.

Bonjour Chicks and merci Chele for the start! Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all. May I state unequivocally that I feel blessed and grateful for all of you and your support and ever present encouragement and kindness! Chele - how is the headache this morning? How did the visit go for Iggy and the cousin? We were cold down at DS's house in the 30s with wind especially on Thursday. Yesterday was a better day weather-wise as the wind died down an I think we hit the upper 40s. We were very lucky that the trip down and back were quick and generally traffic-free. Dinner was very nice; DS once again cooked entirely too much food for just the 5 of us and sent me home with enough leftovers for 3 dinners. Of course we are expecting a snow-storm on Monday when I go back to work. Yep,the weather guessers are saying 7-15 inches between Sun. night and Mon. night. Kathy - Black Friday shopping was not too bad. We went out later than normal and didn't really have urgent presents we had to buy. I finished up my DMIL and DN, got something for ordered for DBIL and bought some small gifts to have in case. Did get up and sign-in and worked off and on until we went shopping. I need to sign-in again this morning for today. How was dinner and yesterday? Any shopping for you? Becky - I'm so sorry that the knee continues to cause you so much pain. I continue to have pain with my knee as well but do find support with the iTbandz that I've been wearing pretty much every day. How are the fur babies? Wally, Zoe and Cooper (DS's dog) seemed to acclimate to each other and get along well but the two boys starting the "marking" again and that was a problem! Zoe's belly was upset Thanksgiving night and she kept me up most of the night off and on. Numerous visits outside to eat grass and wee-wee; wouldn't eat her breakfast but finally seemed better late yesterday afternoon. Linda - glad all went well with the family and that you were tucked in snuggly yesterday with Micki. I suppose with all the online shopping, unless you were going out for "doorbusters" at the brick and mortar stores, it really wasn't too bad. Lots of great sales and prices to be sure. I have the hair salon this morning and then I think I'll be digging out my winter clothes as it would seem Mother Nature is on a rant. The visualization of the little one walking around with the Teddy Bear was a sweet one for sure! Karen - we had a nice visit with DMIL and the family even with my niece's dog there. It was going really well until Wally decided to pee on the carpet to mark something. Bless my other niece who was up with the spray and rag before I could even get there. I didn't realize how large Rollins (niece's new dog) was and she's less than year so wanted to play. Got back to DS's house and had a very nice dinner; unfortunately DS was pretty much in her cups over this whole situation with SM. It's really sad and a shame to hear her say that she thought we were SM's children. I've always known differently but SM raised DS and DS has done so much to care and look after her that it's criminal. We did some talking and tried to encourage her to get some outside help but she's stubborn and thinks she can handle it on her own. Shopping was fine and productive which was good, the knee continues to be cranky and the hip has been feeling a bit off but not terribly. I think going back to PT will be helpful this coming week. How was the Quorn? Did you enjoy the marathons? Good job on getting some additional items for Dale. I'm with you that if that tick bite doesn't look good he should seek immediate care to be sure. I have had the pups out and fed already this morning. Signed on to work an sent out a couple emails. I hope you all have a safe and good Saturday dear ladies. Ciao for now~

Chele, hola y gracias por el comienzo. Looks like you got your wish with Ohio State. Congrats on the win! If only FSU could do as well against the Gators. Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner. Ours was more relaxing with a smaller group. The chef had things under control when we got there, so he was pretty relaxed too. We stopped doing a lot of the extra sides a few years ago, so it is a simpler dinner. I kind of miss having a sweet potato casserole of some kind, but my waistline doesn't. I don't think we've ever had a macaroni dish for Thanksgiving, but I know that's traditional for a lot of people. The ibis are strange looking and can be quite amusing to watch. I liked the first season of Big Little Lies. There are a lot of good actresses in it. Hope your headache is better by now.
Liz, sounds like you had some good shopping success. It's nice to go out when you don't have to find something. Hope the work people leave you alone for the rest of the weekend. Our dinner was very nice and much lower key than the frenzy of the big party. I did get a few things online yesterday, but still have a lot of shopping to do. I don't have a clue what anyone wants, so that makes it more difficult! I'm not liking your weather forecast for Monday at all and hope it doesn't affect your commute. We're getting much colder weather next week with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s, so not surprised that you're getting snow. Quite a change after all the 80s and 90s we've had.
Karen, I'm afraid FSU will probably have the same fate as Michigan against their arch rival. I will watch unless it gets ugly. How is Dale doing today?
Waving to Becky and Linda.

Thanks for the start, Chele. You got your non bleu wish. Victory for Michigan is that they scored first. Sorry the headache yesterday faded into a migraine. I guess it has exited by now. Dale said his tick bite looks better but he hasn't actually shown it to me. I did read if it was a black-legged tick, about 50% of them transmit Lyme Disease. We don't think it was attached for that long, so hopefully that goes in Dale's favor. I ordered Arya's Christmas gifts today and she is going to have to change up her routine if she wants to get all her treats. There is no doubt in my mind that you will get many more opportunties to get photos of that wascally woodpecker.
Linda, lots of leftovers and many plates in the freezer sounds like a good thing. All my shopping was online. One of the local TV stations has a camera at our largest outlet mall and it wasn't as crazy as I thought it might be, but I had no desire to get into the middle of it yesterday. Goofing off?? YOU??? Can't believe that. Sometimes even you need to take a break. Decorating in spurts should be a good idea. You still have a few weeks. I'm not in the mood yet. Maybe I will be after the MG party on Monday evening.
Has your weather improved, Becky, leading to diminished aches and pains? Is your makeshift roller making a difference?
Kathy, that's a lot of ibis/ibises. Do they have an awkward takeoff as a result of their short legs? I'm surprised that the woodpeckers messed with the utility poles as I thought they didn't like treated wood. Good luck to your 'Noles this evening. I hope you will be pleasantly surprised. The Tennessee game could be delayed because we have been having thunderstorms for the past half hour and they are coming from Knoxville. Should at least be a wet game. I was a little disappointed that Clemson only scored 38 points and was really tired of hearing that ridiculous Gamecock rooster crow during the entire game.
Welcome home, Liz. OMG on the impending snowstorm for your return to work. Will you have to go in tomorrow instead of waiting til Monday? Probably a good plan to shop a little later. You got a lot done from the sound of things. Cooper is a year older, but sorry the 2 males were doing their thing and sorry Zoe had tummy troubles. And then there was your niece's dog, but good that she's quick with the spray bottle. With as young as you both were when SM became a part of your lives, I can understand why DS is taking the situation hard, especially with her living so close. The new hip or the old hip is feeling a bit off? I don't like the sound of that with an impending commute and especially with the nasty weather.
I'm off the leftovers for now. I told Dale they are all his. I got the worst heartburn last night that wasn't even quelled after peppermint gels x 3 (one usually does it). So I roasted white sweet potatoes and rutabaga and baked some tofu. I've been attempting to ensure that I get enough fiber while trying to keep things easy on the digestive system, which is a delicate balance. Been watching football and reading most of the afternoon.

Thanks for the start Chele.LOL on your avatar. The weather has changed all right. It's 84 and sunny.Supposed to be cooler tomorrow hopefully. The stretches haven't helped so far and my right knee hurts more today than usual.I bought a new heating pad that can go across my legs so I'm heating it right now.I'm sorry about your migraine yesterday.
Liz You were brave to go Black Friday shopping.I was looking for the ITBandz on Amazon but all I could find was a little strap.I don't think that would help if I was looking at the right one.Fur babies are fine.I hope Zoe is better.
Waves to all.
Karen Do you have a link to the ITbandz you ordered from Amazon?I want to make sure I was looking at the correct one.

Becky, here's the ITBandz link that I got in an email from the company ITBandz. They have a Black Friday deal right now that is buy one, get one 50% off, so if these are different it might be a good time to buy. These are direct from the company and I don't think Amazon has the same deal going. They aren't huge, but the science behind them is solid. They do stabilize my IT bands and my knee. My numbers have consistently gone up at Osteo since I started wearing them for my sessions there. That must be a huge heating pad. Is it electric or does it heat in the microwave? Enjoy your heat. We didn't get out of the 50s and have rain through tomorrow.

Karen Thanks for the link. The only thing it offered was buy 2 or more and get 10% off plus free shipping.I just looked on their website and they are sold out.
The heating pad isn't as big as I thought it would be but it has strings on each side where you can tie it to your legs.

Becky, if you put 2 in your cart, it will give you 50% off the 2nd one. Shipping is still free. Enjoy your heating pad.

Quiet day. Bought a puzzle and got some groceries at TJ's. Their Chocolate hummus takes like thick chocolate pudding or brownie batter at 25 cal.Tbsp.
Nice weather ,so Micki got a mile walk and was happy. Then I made four âtv dinnersâ on sturdy paper plates in ziplock bags for they freezer.
Watching a police, forensic dr French series on Acorn called Balthazar which is very good...subtitles..

Just passing through to wish everyone a good Sunday. Avatar is a goldfinch with his winter color which is a green yellow or olive color.
Liz, be careful tomorrow on the commute.
Linda, thanks for the links.
Just got an email from Wild Birds Unlimited that I get a free 5 lb bag of bird seed for my birthday. Yay!

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit....
Linda, thanks for the recommendation on TJ's chocolate hummus. I have seen it but wasn't sure about it. It would make a good dip for fruit. Have you tried their sriracha hummus? I don't like watching shows with subtitles. I'm a multi-tasker and that means I would have to give my full attention to watching. It's rare that I'm not crocheting, online, or playing solitaire while I'm also watching TV.
Did you try to order the ITBandz, Becky? I was surprised at how well they work for me, given how small they are.
Kathy, sorry about FSU. At least they scored a few times, even if they didn't win. And they are bowl eligible.Tennessee is as well. It was quite a game, with half an hour rain delay at the start and then they had more storms roll through with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter and had to stop play again for half an hour. From scheduled start to final seconds took almost 5 hours.
Enjoy your special day on Wednesday, Chele. I know you already have your major gift. What are your dinner plans, or will you wait til the weekend? How long will a 5 lb bag of bird seed last, given the uptick in the number of visitors you've been having? Cute goldfinch. Is he one of your regulars? Did I see that the Bungles finally won a game??
Liz, sending good wishes for tomorrow's commute and work day. I'll be sending good karma your way.
Did you see about the NO early this morning? DB/DSIL were there yesterday celebrating their anniversary and were actually in the French Quarter. Some of the locals told them they needed to get out of town well before dark because there was going to be some kind of shootout related to the Grambling-Southern University football game. They exited early and had dinner in Biloxi instead. Good move on their part. I found out their youngest daughter and her DH are going down for Christmas. They will have much better weather than if they stayed home. We were back and forth this morning coordinating how everyone would get their Christmas gifts and I think we have it figured out. What used to go into one large package will now be send in 4 smaller ones. Could be worse. I got some succulent planting done this morning. The new avatar is the arrangement I made for my MG GF who got me into succulents. I'll give it to her tomorrow at the dinner. We have sunshine, but strong winds, gusting over 30 mph right now, and Arya is spooked. The windsock I had on the deck is wrapped around a tree in the woods. Fortunately, it's a bright pink with blue accents, so easy to see.

The planter is so cute, Karen. The goldfinches are not daily visitors and I havenât seen the return of the big red headed woodpecker yet. I put in 2.5 lbs of seeds a month ago and I just had to refill the flat feeder today. The tube feeder still has plenty. Birthday dinner plans are still up in the air. I may just bring sushi home. Yup, you saw right. The Bungles managed to win a game. Now the Cincinnati man can stop living on his roof. Iggy has his GI MRI tomorrow and a different doctorâs appointment in the afternoon, so he took the day off. Tuesday is their Christmas potluck. He made baklawa again. He says he is now done making baklawa until next year.

Karen I did order the ITBandz this morning after I measured to see which size I would need.I don't know how long they will take to get here with the free shipping.Cute planter. It was windy earlier and even the 50's felt cooler than it actually was.Our high was 64 today and the wind has died down some.
Chele Wow on the Bungles winning a game.Good luck to Iggy with his GI MRI and his appointment.
I was doing a WATP DVD this afternoon and there's one part where you walk up 8 steps and back 8 steps and I guess my feet got tangled up and I fell on my butt.I'm glad I don't dance for a living.I was able to get up fine but my thumb almost feels like I jammed it.At least I didn't hurt my knees.
