The healthy part is important this time of year. It is terrible to get sick in December when there is so much to do. I will move, track and hydrate and bundle up for my morning walk. Today I’ll finish decorating the tree, put holiday placemats etc on the table and put out the remaining decorations. I also switch the dishes with Christmas ones we use daily in December. I have a meeting tomorrow and need to do a report. All meals will be healthy and at home. It rained yesterday afternoon but I’m not sure what it will be like today. Wishing you a good Sunday.

I can/will: make healthy choices, do my best once daughter arrives the 9th, have fun, hydrate, be positive enjoy life. Today will be a wfpb day with healthy food and plenty of water.
Yesterday we picked up the ATM/debit cards from the bank, had sandwiches out (mine was arabic flat bread with garlic paste, hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and french fries) and then bought groceries, cat food and produce. I made quince jam in the afternoon, read a book and wrote the review. Today hubby is planting and I am making makhlouta (mixed grains and beans with potato, carrot, fried onions and some tomato sauce) and we will have it with or without salad or something on the side...it is a meal in a dish in many ways so perhaps some fruit or something?
I am so out of the TV/Sports/Political loop...no TV and I find I am happier NOT knowing what is going on in the world...figure hubby worries enough for both of us and has his ear to the radio most of the time so won't bother.
MJ: How many parades are there each year?
BEE: is hurricane season over?
ANN: You mentioned Marines collecting toys for tots...do you live in a town with military? Glad you enjoyed the chilly hood walk. A foot of snow is a LOT of snow...
SUSI: Hope you had a good day and that Midnight is settling in.
LADONNA: My first thought about money being kept buried and smelling of dirt was of a graveyard...glad it was just the smell of soil when your husband was paid! My husband keeps money tucked here and there most of the time. One time, when evacuated from Beirut in 1984, it was handy as the money went to pay for airline tickets from Cypress to Los Angeles and no stopping at the bank was necessary as he had it on hand. Know you had fun with friends watching the game! I love potato soup...used to put cheddar cheese in it and have cornbread on the side...how do you make your potato soup?
JUNE: Glad you found the drainage line...hope you can come up with a fix for the problem.
BECKY: I hope the PT and stretching exercises will loosen you up and help with the pain.
PAM: Hooray for tasty meals ahead using up leftovers.
AUDREY: When I moved here the lira to dollar was 3 lira to one dollar...there was a crash and people who once easily lived on their retirement (in lira) or had money in lira in the bank had to suddenly deal with 1,500 lira to a dollar. For many years the dollar has been "stable" against the lira but that is changing. I hope the government is formed and stability is eventually found but...time will tell. I am glad we have a wall around the house with an iron gate, iron doors outside the wooden ones and iron bars on the lower floor windows. I think robberies occur but so far we have been safe.

Good morning, Audrey - Bee - Cathy - and AWF!
Saturday at Woodloch was gorgeous - sunny, cold but not too cold, no wind - the perfect transition day between the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons. We did a lot of walking (of course!) and even took a pontoon boat ride on Lake Teedyuskung (and got to go through the light ice that was forming on one part of the lake - fabulous noise!). Quite a few folks left yesterday as the winter storm prediction got worse and worse; they're offering an earlier-than-usual breakfast meal as others chose to wait until Sunday morning no matter what. We stayed through the Saturday night Theme Dinner (90s!), then checked out and headed down the mountain around 8 PM. We rolled in at 10:45 PM. Son#1 had dropped the Kressling here so he was all settled in and helped us unload the car.
There's nothing falling from the sky yet but a wintry mix is still predicted, just starting a bit later. As of last night, parade participation is questionable (final decision to be made sometime after 9 AM). But we are home and the Kressling is here, so we're ready for whatever.
"What happens at Woodloch stays at Woodloch" - well, at least as far as food is concerned. We enjoy the indulgence but know that once we've crossed the bridge back into NJ we've also crossed back into normal-for-us eating. I need to rough out the week's meal plan and see if an early-morning grocery trip is essential (hoping to hold off and not join the bread/milk/eggs crowd).
Right now I'm sipping hot tea and enjoying the sunrise... ☕☕☕...
❄☔❄☔❄☔❄☔❄ Have a healthy-eating day, all! ❄☔❄☔❄☔❄☔❄

Good morning all. Audrey thanks for getting us off to a good start. I agree. It's a challenge to remain healthy this time of the year. Enjoy your meals at home and your decorating. Bee I shall join you. Cathy not a Military town...just something that is done all over MA during Christmas. Great plans. I know what you mean about news being upsetting...... MJ LOL to keeping what happened there staying there regarding the food Will check the weather again and do what we need to do to get ready for the snow...should that happen. We are having a turkey dinner today so there will be plenty of healthy leftovers around. Waving and will CBL

Sounds like a nicely busy day Audrey. Enjoy. Good plan Bee. Has all your company left? It's good but sad that you have so much security Cathy. MJ - Glad you enjoyed the indulgence and I'm sure you walked most of it off. You are so naturally active. Ann - Yes the holiday temptations are a challenge. Fortunately I stopped baking years ago and have learned to say no. Midnight is very slowly settling in. At 8, I expect it to take a while. She and Jack have been nose to nose with a minor growl and Jack is the one who backed off which is a big surprise. Missy is just disinterested. Today I am taking stuff with me to the gym so I can swim, sauna and hot tub after spin. Only rain is expected here so I will probably work on indoor decorations during football. I won't do much because I won't really be here and not sure how Midnight will be with decorations.

We bake and give most of it away to neighbors and people that we do business with. It's one of our 'traditions' I keep very little of it at home for obvious reasons LOL. Happy to hear that Midnight is starting to settle in with the rest of the crew. Takes time.
Change of plans. Forgot that I took out meat sauce so that will be on the menu for today. Turkey will wait for another day.

Good morning all - the reset button has been hit (I've been wearing that button out lately LOL). I'm cooking potato soup for the family but I'm not planning on eating any. I've got Salmon and whole grain rice for me and green beans. Hopefully decorating the tree later today.
Audrey, sounds like a nice relaxing day. I would love to have some Christmas dishes to use in Dec. sounds fun!
Bee, sounds great to welcome Dec on a healthy note.
Cathy, I boil a 5 lb bag of peeled/cubed potatoes in just enough water to keep covered along with seasonings and finely chopped onion. When the potatoes are tender I turn off the heat and stir in a block of cream cheese and let sit for a while til the cheese is fully melted and stir again. It is so delicious. It is really good with cornbread.
MJ, I'm with you getting back on track. So glad you enjoyed your retreat.
Susi, sauna and hot tub sound nice...enjoy!
Ann, keep us posted on the snow...hope you don't get much but just enough to be beautiful!

LaDonna yes I shall keep y'all posted. Carl went to pick up a few things 'just in case' while I took a shower I'll be hitting reset right along with you. My scale did read a .2 weight loss.....but still......I want a little more 'wiggle room'

Audrey Good plan. It's not fun to be sick this time of year for sure.
Bee A healthy routine is always good.
Cathy Great goals. Thanks for the good wishes.
MJ I'm glad you had fun at Woodloch.LOL on what happens at Woodloch stays in Woodloch.I'm sure you are already back on plan.
Ann I hope you don't get all that snow they are predicting.
Susi I'm sure it will take awhile for Midnight to settle in.It did when we first adopted Marcey and now the two cats run and play inside and when KitKat can't find Marcey she looks at me like you need to find my sister Mama.Tha cats are why I don't put up a tree.Enjoy your decorating and watching football.
LaDonna If I was making potato soup I think I would have to eat some. You are doing well.I did make Kenneth a dessert for Thanksgiving but it tastes too sweet for me so I haven't indulged in it.I can't tell Kenneth about that soup because he loves cornbread. Our grocery store bakery sells it already made and he says he can't tell any difference between theirs and him mom's homemade cornbread.
Church this morning and hopefully a laid back day.I am planned and tracked.I'm hydrating already and will move as I can.

Okey dokey I just lost all my personals.... so I will do a pared down version.
Audrey- Thx for the start. Healthy eating, adequate sleep, and "me time" probably help sidestep sickness. Great dinner plan
Ann Yay for the scale showing a loss. It's something! Knew a member that got to goal weight .2lbs at a time.
Bee Yep-- the more days of a healthy routine we log, the better. Best way to sidestep a "holidaze." (Stole Mj's phrase.
Becky Solid plan for a good Sunday. Hope the heat gives you some comfort. Praying that the PT & moist heat gives some relief. Bravo for not seeking comfort in food. It is not easy to maintain weight when your exercise routine is disrupted and your body hurts.
Cathy What tasty plant-based meals you two cook up. Yum. wonderful that your DD will son visit.
Mj Love the imagery of crossing a line-- physically, emotionally, and nutritionally. No regrets, but no blank permission to slip into.a "holidaze."
LaDonna Applauding both your willingness and your ability to hit that reset button. Those are essential to maintains-- a balance. You get lots of credit in my book.
Pam Hope the blue sky breaks through today or during your week. KOKO
Susi Love that you have some many different activities planned for the gym this morning. Sounds like the cats are getting better acquainted.

Sunday's goals Decide if I need to make a grocery run or not. May want to make a pot of vegetable soup. What to do about the sump pump issue is under debate. I hope to gather information & proposals. I have no idea if I can convince R. . . Appreciate your continued prayers. I am grateful to have them as we continue to navigate all challenges shared and unshared.

June good luck with your plan and hopefully you can convince R. Yes, I'll gladly accept the .2 in the right direction Becky so far no snow. Just got back from a good hood walk with Carl and LuLa. Sky surely looks strange and you an feel the dampness in the air. Time will tell. Will CBL

June, I hope you can convince R regarding the sump pump. Cathy, how exciting that your daughter will visit soon. Ann, it's good you got your walk in. We walked Lily Belle and the rain began not too far from home. It has been raining since then and it is good to be inside. Your loss is good considering the extra temptations this past week. Susi, at night the dog ignores me until the cat jumps on my lap. Then she is filled with jealousy guarding her biscuits and wanting my lap. It is so funny and predictable. MJ, so glad you and Toots had a good trip. Becky, sounds like you will have a good day. La Donna, we are also having salmon tonight and the reset button has been hit. Bee and Pam, hope you both have a good day.
