This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good morning dotren, I know hard to believe it is December already. Waving to all I was having a good day until my son ordered pizza. I told him I was not going to eat it so get what he wanted on it. Well I caved and picked off the meatballs (I don't eat beef) and ate two slices. It really was not that good. Ugh....

sunrose49, 2 slices isn't bad I love pizza and we will grab a super thin crust one now and then still The ones I make on low-carb pitas are ok , but the real thing now and then makes it livable lol.

sunrose49, I agree with DotRen, 2 slices isn't too bad. The real bummer is you didn't enjoy it. I eat pizza all the time (at least once a week, sometimes twice) and I can get it down to one slice if I have a side salad. It's like I went to a pizza parlor with a salad bar, very posh! Anyway, keep in mind that you didn't like that pizza for next time. Not worth the points, right? DotRen, I'm so excited for December! The only thing dampening my mood is that I usually have the shopping done in November. Yikes! I need to get to work! *Waves to everyone else* Today was a pretty poor eating day. I was running out of healthy choices. lol I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow, so I'm giving myself a pass for today. I did track it, so all is on the up and up. Can't wait to get rid of DH and the kids so I can get things done around here. Of course, I'll be singing a different tune when they're actually gone tomorrow. I hope you all have an awesome start to December!

Hello everyone! sunrose49, I won't tell you how many slices of pizza I had yesterday... irisinnia, that's awesome about the snow. We have very unpredictable amounts here. We bought snowshoes a few years ago during a particularly snowy winter and there hasn't really been enough snow to use them again! DotRen, hope you are doing well! I stayed the same this week, which isn't a surprise as I was way over. I have been having a hard time getting back on track after doing so well for a couple of weeks. I am dangerously close to being out of WPs again already and it's only day 3 for me. I really want to keep at it and I know that I have a lot of challenges coming up over the holidays, so I'm going to really try hard to work on it for this week. I have an event on Thursday and I'm going "home" (to my MIL's) this weekend. So, I am going to try to work around both of those things. I am going to WI on Friday morning before I leave. Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning
wwlurker, I usually only eat 2 slices, but this one was not worth it. The holidays are hard to stay on track. Good luck with your two events coming up!!
irisinnia, I love salad with pizza. I use to be so good with one slice and a side salad.
dotren, I use to make my pizza on english muffins. I think I need to get back to that.
Waving to cj and Amy
I went to jazzercise yesterday and will do the same today. Members at my WW meeting are really doing good. I need to join them on this journey.

When I was a kid, we'd go to this little pizza place in Brownsville (Texas) called Gios. It was family owned and your classic pizza place: wine bottles with candles all melted down the side, watching the dough being tossed, big family running it all screaming at each other (lol). I have really fond family memories of the place The pizza was good but I remember, even as a kid, their salads were amazing, and the family fights were entertaining lol. Edit: it's still there! giosvilla.com/#the-kitchen

Hello! Just checking in. cj59 - I haven't seen you in a while. Hope you're doing well. sunrose49 - I hear you re joining in on the journey. I feel like I've had my toes in, but haven't been all in, in a while. DotRen - I hear you on the pizza from your childhood. Pizza from my hometown has a style of its own. It has a special sauce (tomato based but cooked like a gravy with flour and oil and lots and lots of black pepper - it's actually brown on the pizza, but reddish before it's on the pizza), local pepperoni, tons of cheese (on top of the toppings, not under) and a kinda tough, bread-like crust. We still get it as often as we can when we go home and now you can buy the sauce locally, so we almost always have several jars in our cupboards. I haven't been doing the best this week, to be honest. I'm having a hard time getting on track and have been really overeating at night. I'm going to try to focus on two things to see if it helps: (a) eating regular meals throughout the day and (b) paying attention to the GHGs to help balance out my meals. I'm hoping that helps get me back on track. Have a great day everyone!

Hello Everyone irisinnia - Hope you can get your Christmas shopping done. I'm starting to stress about what I need to do too. sunrose - It's good to hear people at your meetings are doing well. I'm glad that you are still going to Jazzercise, hope you enjoy it. I've used English Muffins to make pizza too. DotRen - I haven't seen one of those wine bottles with melted candle wax in years, it seems like I saw many of them when I was a kid. That's a nice memory that you have. wwlurker - Hope you can get control of the eating at night, I have trouble with that too. I hope you can focus on those things you want to. Thanks for thinking of me, I'm just not feeling any "weight loss stuff" right now, but I do hope you are all doing alright. If I wasn't doing that 100 Day Challenge I probably wouldn't be eating a single vegetable or fruit each day Hope everyone else checking in is doing well - have a great day!

Good morning
wwlurker, at least you have your toes in. I have a couple toes in ;-) It's a constant battle.
cj, I'm not doing the best right now either. I keep trying and at least your are getting in your f/v. Hang in there.
dotren, what a great memory regarding the pizza. When I was a kid my mom would take my neighbor (she didn't drive) and her kids/plus my siblings and me to the grocery store and then we ate a pizza place right next to it. I can't remember the pizza being all the great, but I loved the soda machine...lol
Waving to all
Went to jazzercise yesterday and plan to go again today. That will make 4 days this week. So at least I am doing that ;-)

Good morning,
I WI today because I'm going to be away tomorrow, and this week I STS. As of this morning, I'm about 24 pts over for the week (today is my last day of the week). This is over the higher amount of pts I give myself anyway, so it's a bit discouraging. I realize that I have quite a bit of work to do in making healthier choices - the first week or so when I was doing well, it was in large part because I was trying to make sure that I got in most of my GHGs, and that I ate regular meals. Those are two things that I definitely need to work on. I know I said that I was going to try to get back to that this week, but so far, I haven't been able to do it.
Here's to the reset of my week tomorrow and a fresh opportunity to work on the things I need to work on! I try to think of every time I make a food/exercise choice as a fresh opportunity, but I think that reset of the week is a welcome thing this week.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I give you a lot of credit going to Jazzercise as you have been. I hope you are enjoying it and it has to be good for your cardio health wwlurker - I hope you are happy with a STS at WI and it sounds like you have the right attitude with fresh opportunities and resets. I think that is one thing I really did like about WW, you always started a new week and put the old one behind you. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well and that all of you have a great weekend!

Good morning
cj, yes the cardio is great!! I am way out of shape, but getting there.
wwlurker, I give you much credit for tracking. At least you know what you have left, what is over, etc. I have no clue. I track one day, then not the next. I need to work on that.
Waving to all. I was going to go to jazzercise this morning, but had to walk Maddie with her friend and ran out of time. Tomorrow is shopping with a friend and then lunch so tomorrow will basically be a walking day.

Good morning,
Haven't been around in awhile. Forgive me if I'm repeating myself but I lost my son in law the day before Thanksgiving in a construction accident. The past week and a half have been pretty difficult to say the least. He was the husband of my late daughter. So tragic. My granddaughters have lost both of their parents now.
Haven's been working the program at all. Been stress eating. Weighed in this morning and as expected I was up. No surprise there. Will start tracking and eating right again today.
House is all decorated for Christmas. My granddaughter that lives with us did it before her Dad passed. It looks beautiful but I'm just not in the mood. I don't have a lot of money for Christmas this year. It will be minimal.
Off to wash the kitchen floor. Hope you are all well!
