Hello Everyone sunrose and DotRen - It seems like many of us have only a little family around at the holidays now. It just sounds like everyone is having a big family party, but I guess not that many people really are. I do have a lot of family, but most of them don't live around here - just one brother/sister-in-law and one of his children and her husband. This brother usually has his family together for Christmas and they are nice to invite me but I only go every few years. I kind of feel like a fifth wheel at their parties, even though they are very welcoming to me. It's just strange being there and not having my own husband or children. So I spend most of the holidays alone and understand how lonely they can be. I do have several movies I like to watch at this time of year so I'll do that. And sadly there are foods/treats I like too and I've been having them. I'm trying not to make as much as I did the last few years though. Hopefully we can all find a way to celebrate that makes us happy. Have a great weekend!

Yesterday was Rons birthday, so I made lasagna Then we put up the Christmas decorations. It's funny because I have a love/hate relationship with Christmas. Some years we don't even put up a tree (now that JD's grown) - it depends on my level of interest. Ron doesn't really care either way lol. If I don't mention it, he won't either. Weird? Anyway, his friends and family call for his birthday and, the last several years, all the do is say Happy birthday then complain about their aches and pains! I think that's rude lol. He gets off the phone just shaking his head. Anyway the lasagna was good, back on plan today

Good morning!
I hope everyone is doing well. I lost 1 pound last week, even though I went over. I'm happy with that. Again this week, I'm off to a rough start (I'm over for the week already - I sound like a broken record here). My husband is away this week, so I'm holding down the fort. In some ways, it seems easier when there's just one parent around. I know he finds the same thing when I'm away.
We do very small Christmases. My in-laws will come for the 24-26, but that's about it. Our family all live about 4 hours away and my family is definitely not close. I'm not doing any baking/cooking until the 20th. That's when school is over and I feel like it's a good place to start, to make sure that stuff doesn't all get eaten before Christmas.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today
amrys - Your IHOP tradition sounds nice.
wwlurker - Congratulations on the loss - that's an achievement this time of year.
DotRen - I rarely do any decorating for Christmas since it's just me. It's just too much effort even though I enjoy looking at the decorations. I think there are some people that really love the whole experience of decorating and need it for the holidays and others that can still enjoy the holiday without all the extra stuff
Today is the last day of the current 100 Day Challenge. I did pretty well this time, but my challenge requirements were pretty easy I thought about not starting again, but I know I need to keep that up because it motivates me to do some healthy things. I may increase my daily requirements after the holidays, since I need to eat more fruits and vegetables each day.
At least I finally got my daily steps and some exercise back up to a good point (but could do better), so I'm happy the challenge has helped me with that.
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and doing well with their plans

That's great the challenges are helping you! All is okay here. My dson has depression issues so it has been a little hard lately. I get depressed some for various reasons. Maybe lack of son/nice weather in the winter. Going to jazzercise this morning and dinner tonight with a friend.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today sunrose - Hope you enjoyed jazzercise and your dinner with a friend. I'm sorry to hear about your DS and you dealing with depression. I have struggled with that myself for most of my life. Hope we can all get through the holiday season and feel better I'm glad to start another 100 Day Challenge. Even though I've been eating a bunch of junk at least I'm still getting some fruits, vegetables and dairy each day and getting in my steps. Take care everyone!

cj, depression is hard. So many of us get it. I've noticed when the sun is out I feel much happier.
I am still struggling with the scale. Dinner on Wednesday was fun. Except my friend wanted to take a picture of the two of us together by the Christmas tree in the lobby. I am not a fan "at all" of having my picture taken. When I saw it I wanted to cry. I know I am heavy, but when I see pictures it just gives me such a heavy heart. Sorry for being a downer. I know it will get better ;-)

sunrose49, I hate seeing myself in pictures too, but I try to think of it as making memories for my loved ones. I want them to have pictures of me and I don't think they will care how I look in them. I know that I am grateful for every photo I have of my loved ones who are no longer with me. I also think about how when I look back on old photos, I wish I still looked like that, even though at the time, I felt huge.

I'm another one that doesn't like my picture being taken. I avoid it at all costs Hope everyone is doing well on their plans and surviving all the holiday stress and preparations - and hopefully looking forward to a nice holiday

Good morning wwlurker, what a beautiful way to put it regarding the pictures. I use to be the one taking the pictures on our vacations. I would laugh when showing people and say "yes I was there too" cj, I would like to say I am trying to stay on my plan, but I'm not. Waving to all Headed to jazzercise this morning. Not sure what else I will do today.

Good morning! (exclamation point necessary, morning person) sunrose49, I feel you on the photos. It's jarring too, because I swear that is not what I look like in the mirror. I've gotten used to it though. My DH is a photo/video guy so there was no getting out of it. And I agree with wwlurker, the people who love us, love us exactly the way we look now. So know that when you look at yourself - you are loved. cj59, What are you doing for the 100 day challenge? I was going to track, but I kinda messed up yesterday. Still, I think I'll stick with it. Tracking *something* everyday is better than tracking *everything* only a few days. I'm listening to The Power of Habit while I'm on the treadmill and really thinking about how to apply those things to my weight loss and my lifestyle. I was down this week so I'm hopeful that I can keep the trend going! I feel like it's really small losses, and then I think, well, I've been the same weight for about a year, my body is comfortable being here so it probably doesn't want to let go. I think once I break through the invisible floor under me then the weight loss will pick up. It was 6 years ago I lost the weight but 6 isn't 16 or 26 so I think that I have a shot at rocking it like I did last time. I hope you all are having a great day!

good morning!
I have been off for the past few days. It's been a very hectic week, with lots of Christmas events for my children's various extracurricular activities. I am so ready for the husband to be back (tomorrow night). I am proud of having been able to keep it all together without him, but it definitely makes me realize how much he does for us - like making sure that we get to bed at a decent time, most of the cooking, the laundry and making sure we all get out the door in the mornings on time. I'm much too slack at all of that stuff.
Even though I haven't really been tracking, I also think that I haven't been doing terribly, either. I have been having a lot of treats, etc., but not really bingeing. We'll see what happens on the scale tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a great day!

I forgot the most important part! I got some Zebra popcorn. I'm not opening the bag without my food scale, some plastic baggies, and a sharpie. I know my limits.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well sunrose - Hope you enjoyed your jazzercise. wwlurker - I'm glad you've managed alright without your DH, but I'm glad he'll be home soon to help you. I can't imagine trying to lose weight and dealing with all the families things as well as work! I'm sure the children are getting excited for Christmas. irisinnia - Congratulations on the weight loss. Good job with the popcorn I'm in the same kind of situation as you are regarding my body being at a weight that it probably likes. This happens to me every time I lose weight. I keep it off for a year or so, then regain it and stay at the higher weight for several years before I can lose again. I really thought I wouldn't gain it back this time, and fortunately I haven't regained all of it, but it's disappointing to me that I couldn't keep up those good habits. I hope you can break through the block and lose your weight For this 100 Day Challenge I'm making sure to get servings of fruits, vegetables and dairy each day. I also make sure to get about 8 cups of water and I'm trying for 5 miles on my Fitbit each day (but I'd really like to focus on longer periods of exercise). After the holidays I need to add tracking back in since I haven't been doing that for a few months. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
