I'm frustrated than Democratic side didn't question the Republican legal representative (who claims he doesn't like Trump) about obstruction of Congress and obstruction of justice, i.e. failure to provide requested witnesses and documents. Let's see him defend that one.
His only defense seems to be the motivation behind impeachment is hatred of the prez. OK, but he still did the offenses.

Presidential power has been expanding for a long time. Now we are paying the price when an idiot gets the job. I agree! My dh and I have had a discussion and he says things like "DT isn't the first president to do xxxxx" -my response is "But he should be the last". Just because xxx got away with it before doesn't mean "we" should keep ignoring this snowball of abuse of power. If now isn't the time to get control of it -when is?! I totally agree with you DotRen. Sooner or later we have to stand up and say this has to stop. I don't care whether it's Republicans, Democrats, or this truly evil JA. It makes me so frustrated when I hear that "but so and so did it or did this or that" excuse. We don't except that excuse from our children, so why on earth should we accept it from our government?

Of course, Congress has only itself to blame for the whole Presidential power thing. They are perfectly happy to bolster the Executive branch powers when the occupant is a member of their own party, then when the worm turns, all of a sudden it's a disaster. Happens on both sides of the aisle.
ETA: OK, so Turley can defend anything. I really object to his whole demenor, like this is just a jolly academic debate among fellow scholars.

So, Turley, just played right into JA hands by saying JA wasn't guilty of obstruction, bribery, etc & now JA is tweeting it for all his followers to see & believe, he did nothing wrong because Turley said so. UGH!
I wish there had been more questions about the WH obstruction of the 71 documents the WH has refused to release or that they ordered so many, like Mulvany, Bolton, and all the others not to appear before the committees & JA said NO. Can't have fact witnesses if they disobey subpoenas & don't supply the documents requested. Do you think the Dems are not really being tough enough on the questions? I don't know what to think of this hearing.....rather disappointed, I think.

Sometimes Democrats can be our own worst enemy. I don't understand why they're not doing more about a lot of things.

Donald Trump sits next to a little girl on Air Force One (a daughter of one of his staff). He turns to her and says, 'Let's talk- I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger'. The little girl, who had just opened her book, closes it slowly and asks Trump, 'What would you like to talk about?'. 'Oh, I don't know,' says Trump, 'How about what changes I should make to âMake America Great Againâ?' and smiles. âOKâ, she says, âThat could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question firstâ. âA horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?â. Trump, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, 'Hmmm, I have no idea'. To which the little girl replies, 'Do you really feel qualified to change America when you don't know shit?'

National tree: $164,000. Tree lighting ceremony: $180,000.
Meanwhile: SNAP benefits cut for more than 700,000 Americans; Meals on wheels program cut by $1.5 million, but damn we need a tree that they don't even decorate (it has a tent of decorations over it). Put a damned stick in the ground and hang the tent.

Here we go . . . Nancy's pushed the start button. Fasten your seat belts and hold on tight. I expect we'll get out on the runway, but we'll never get a full take off.

Oh, my gosh, DotRen, that was so funny! And so true! LOL....I was so mad when I read that he had cut funding for SNAP. Probably did it while he was face down in a bucket of KFC!....Too bad Melania doesn't remind him of her "Be Best"...but, then, she could care less either, I suppose ...
I just want this dang nightmare to stop. Think how this has taken over all our lives with just posting, etc over the last 4 years or so. I remember days when politics was so boring, not many scandals, just the usual opposition between parties, but still some bi-partisianship. I was lucky to watch a political show once in a blue moon. I watched the nightly news to see what was going on in our country & usually not much mention of politics there.

Whoa! GO NANCY! The answer to a question as she was walking off the stage & came back to answer was awesome! Good for her! She was "P'O'd" with that question about her "hating the President"...

Did anyone see the interaction with Biden and an older guy this morning where Biden was taking questions. I have to admit, the way Biden reacted, kind of made me cringe. He needs to refine his answer about his son. He is going to get this question a lot, & he just can't ignore or answer the way he did this morning. The way he reacted this morning only gives ammo to JA to tweet about! I sure hope his campaign team discuss this & decide how Biden will answer in the future. Everything is fair game, I suppose when running for President & Biden should have learned this lesson since he has a long political career. Sigh!

@lka48, Linda, that's EXACTLY what my thoughts were when I heard Nancy responding to that question. Go Nancy for sure! I loved the "don't mess with me . . ." I never really had a strong opinion of Nancy one way or the other before all this, but I am admiring her now more and more all the time. She is a tough, smart lady and she doesn't take any BS.
What do you think about Biden's tussle with the questioner in Iowa today? I've been out all day and just heard a brief snippet on the news.

You would think Biden would have been prepared for a question like that. I was really surprised that he seemed to be taken so off guard that his temper really flared. I understand defending your kid and defending yourself. Heck I'd fight a mountain lion if I thought he disparaged my child, LOL. But, Biden should have been prepared with a calm answer to deflect such a question. And that's not going to be the last time it comes up. His team and he should definitely know that.

Just shaking my head and wondering what's going to happen next. Rudy's probably just in Ukraine doing his Christmas shopping.

Just shaking my head and wondering what's going to happen next. Rudy's probably just in Ukraine doing his Christmas shopping. Like a nice summer home for the next 20 years? DT still doesn't get it. He's going on about how there will be more impeachments if he gets impeached. He doesn't get that it's about the abuse of presidential power. The old saying "If you don't do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about" comes into play here.
