Good morning Ginny, it' so good to see you here first thing in the morning. A family day is so nice and well worth the time taken away from sewing. And it's great you got to see your son before he left for work too. After church tomorrow hopefully you will get a chance to sew.
I looked up the list of staff members for our Community college and she is just teaching not in a position of any power. She acts like a nice person so is not considered a monster but is devious in her deeds.I'm not sure how good an instructor she will be especially as she has not done any actual nursing care in years. And if she was fired from the hospital as my former coworker said, I guess she wouln't be one that would over see the students clinical experience at the hospital. In the rules of admission they state that if you worked for any of the facilities in which they do their clinical and that facility will not allow you to work there then you cannot be admitted to the college's program...that's for students but I would think for faculty also. But I'm sure you're tired of hearing about my former coworkers.
I'm glad I went out yesterday.Yesterday's weather was really nice...today overcast and dreary looking.
Only 11 days left till Christmas. I need to finish up what I need to finish here at home now that I have all the outside home things done. I didn't get any crafting done yesterday except to look at yarn at Walmart. They had Bernat blanket yarn at a good price but I didn't get any. I still have a bunch from when I bought it to make the water balloons. It's sad that the year is nearly over already. Time is going so fast. I can't even believe it's Saturday again already!
And Ginny, you're so right. It's really great and a treat to see Meg. Well it's great to see all of you but Meg, of course, has been missing

Hello Crafters Ruth - I'm glad you were able to get your errands done on a nicer weather day. I have a bunch of that Bernat Blanket yarn for afghan/throws I was going to make and still haven't. It does work up very quickly so hopefully I'll make them one day. Meg - I'm glad to hear you were able to go to Devin's Christmas concert, I can't believe he's already in middle school! Ginny - I'm happy to hear that your machine is back and working well. I hope you'll be able to get a few things done before Christmas. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are getting some crafting in. It was a cold and rainy day here again, but not as bad as yesterday. It's nice to be able to stay home. I haven't been doing much today, and haven't gotten back to my quilt. I did pull out another piece of a Christmas themed fabric that I have and was thinking about how I could use it. I'm bad about starting new things and not finishing what I was working on Take care everyone!

Well CJ, you're not the only one that starts and doesn't finish. I have a lot of things that need finishing. I'm glad your weather is better. Here it's snowed all day.Yes the blanket yarn does work up fast. I made a baby blanket with it and it was done in no time. I made it in blue though so have to wait for a baby boy to come along.
I'm working on an earwarmer I decided to make instead of the thermal stitch. I ripped the partly done thermal stitch one and restarted using front post double crochets like I used for the mail carrier's hat since it, too, is thick andwarm and much softer than the thermal stitch. Plus the thermal stitch takes WAY longer. If I hadn't stopped so many times today I would have had it done by now.

Back again today....
Ruth, think its a great idea that you changed your plans to use the thermal stitch. The thermal stitch is beautiful and So thick and warm, but it sounds like a boatload of work. Think the front post dc is a better choice especially if its softer in addition to being warm. Think we all know from experience that sometimes getting a project done is the most important thing. I am glad to hear that the monster is not in a leadership position at the college, but just a professor. Still its kind of scary that someone who has an unstable side like that is in a position of influence. Students can be so gullible. Perhaps in being fired she learned a lesson and is no longer so difficult.
CJ- well lets see, how many UFO’s does Ginny have??? too many to count, so do not beat yourself up over starting a project and not finishing it. I wonder did you figure out what your plans are for that Christmas fabric? Perhaps you went back to your quilt or maybe you just had fun looking for ideas on a nice stay at home day.
We took the grandkids (and their parents too) to Disney on Ice today. What a lovely presentation and the grandkids loved it.Then came home and dd#2 and her husband came over for dinner. Nice to see them. A long day but a good one. Tomorrow, I am in the nursery at church. Then Dh and I have to go to Best Buy to take care of a gift that we ordered and now they say the order is delayed. Of course they seem clueless on the new delivery date, and they do indicate that they will cancel the order if they cannot ship by January 13. Well then the gift is too late. Calling them does no good and the inventory on the internet is unclear. So to the store we go. Not my idea of fun. Oh well, hope we can get the problem figured out.
See everyone tomorrow/ Ginny

Hi everyone, I haven't any crafting today so far. I had DD home this afternoon and she kept me busy. She kept wanting to eat all afternoon. She may not have had lunch before she arrived here. DS put up lights outside and he added some new lights this year and it looks very colorful. My next door neighbor is getting his house ready to sell right after the holiday so no lights this year.
Ginny, I don't remember what they called to school Christmas program. I will have to check that out. Ruth, I still haven't sent any cards out though I have received a few but so many of the people I exchanged greetings with have died.
It started to rain a little while ago so I may just stay home tomorrow.
Have a good evening.

Meg, bet your house looks nice with the new lights that your DS put up! Was Dd in a good mood while you had her? Oh do not worry what they called the Christmas program- probably something like winter concert or holiday concert or whatever....back in the stone ages it was called a Christmas concert.
Have a good day all Ginny

Quiet here today but I know lots of times people check in during the evening.
Got to church this am but I had nursery and a really sweet 13 month old little girl to watch. She was very easy to care for, and we had lots of fun- I tried to teach her how to blow raspberries....something she found pretty funny.
Afterward, well it was an interesting day. I usually buy my cat food from walmart by the case. Its a great price and as long as I remember to order it I never run out. The most recent shipment came 3 days ago in an unusually large box.. I had also ordered thermal curtains and thought that maybe they were in the box. (They were another order on another day). So I was very confused to find an electronic item- approximate cost $70- which I did not order. I checked with both Ds and Dd#2 to see if they ordered anything like that, they had not. Plus, Dh and I had ordered a gift for Ds, which Best Buy first said they had and would ship immediately, then they sent me a text indicating that they were out of stock. So after church off we went to try to return the item I never ordered to Walmart and see what to do about Best Buy. First stop, Walmart. Customer service just smiled at me and said. “Merry Christmas” I guess we made a mistake....so it almost seems like they were encouraging me to keep the item. I did get their customer service phone #.....and will call them and see what they want me to do. While in Walmart, I got a text from Best Buy (which is right next to Walmart) that the item we ordered had shipped. So no need to go to Best Buy! We ended up in BJ’s where I picked up a few things we needed. Then came home and cleaned the back yard, which was trashed by the ice storm of two weeks ago.
My pastors wife wants to sew tomorrow, so I think we are going to work on our Christmas table runners together tomorrow.
Have a great night all (oh I am babysitting Friday instead of tomorrow- so a day home will be lovely) Ginny

Much of the time when Walmart send you the wrong thing they tell you to keep the one you received and then they send you the replacement. I'm glad they got your order in at Best Buy. I don't think that I've ever bought anything from them. I know we were there in the physical store they have here but I don't think we bought whatever it was that we were looking for but instead went somewhere else. I hope that if they tell you to keep the item you got erroneously that it's something that you can use.
It's very cold here today but nice and sunny and no wind. We did get enough snow that the snow removal company did plow the streets in our development.I'm still glad I got errands done on Friday.
So you had only one child in the nursery? The little one you mentioned sounds very cute. And congrats on having tomorrow off! Of course it sounds like you'll be making up for it by babysitting on Friday instead of Monday but I know you love being with the grandchildren.
Meg, it does sound like Janet was hungry although maybe she's like me and wants to eat whether hungry or not.
