Welcome! This is a thread for people who want to attend a meeting from the comfort of their own home. We are primarily a PointsPlus board (Go Team Yellow!) but all are welcome to revel in the GHG's, 16 Routines, and topics that never get old. If you're new here, feel free to introduce yourself! If you have anything to celebrate, share and give yourself a bravo sticker: + If you want to make it official, you can weigh yourself and put it in your tracker or share it! If you need some accountability, feel free to post daily how you’re doing on PP/GHG’s. This Week's Topic: How to Get Back On The Exercise Wagon www.weightwatchers.com/util/art/index_art.aspx?tabnum=1&art_id=109371&sc=3040Do you exercise regularly? If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started? If so, what are the routines (laying out your clothes, setting an alarm for a time of day, etc.) or thoughts (I’ll feel so much better once I’ve exercised, I’ve already scheduled it so I’m doing it, etc.) you have in place to make sure that you exercise? Make a goal: What are you going to do for exercise this week? This Week’s Routine: Get up and walk at least five minutes each hour. This Week’s GHG: Vitamins: Take a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day. Meal of the Week: Dinner What are you having for dinner? Recipe of the Week: Slow Cooker Beef with Mushroom Sauce (6 PP) *Not including rice, though there are suggestions for substituting vegetables. simple-nourished-living.com/slow-cooker-beef-mushroom-sauce/Next Week's Topic: What Your Food Choices Say About You

Do you exercise regularly? I am now that we bought the Peloton. On days that I really don't feel like doing a class, I do a scenic ride & listen to my own music. So far, I've biked through Yosemite & a national park in British Columbia. I also included a strength training class & will be doing more of those. What are you having for dinner? Tonight we're having a salad topped with pulled pork. The next couple days will be a casserole from Skinnytaste. I'm very fond of this recipe because you don't have to precook the pasta. www.skinnytaste.com/chicken-sausage-and-peppers-macaroni/

Do you exercise regularly? Not so much now that it has gotten colder out. I love to walk, but when the temperature drops below 50, I struggle to get in any activity even though I can exercise inside.
If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started? I have fibromyalgia and exercising outside in the cold takes it toll on my muscles when I walk outside for too long. As far as exercising inside, struggle to get motivated to walk on the treadmill or ride the exercise bike. Well, that is my excuse at least, not a good one though.
Ride the exercise bike 10-15 minutes 2 days this week. A walking DVD 2 other days this week.
This Week’s Routine: Get up and walk at least five minutes each hour. I will try for 5 minutes every two hours while working. My job has some time constraints to it and I cannot get up every hour. But I will do my best to get up 5 minutes every hour when not working.
This Week’s GHG: Vitamins: Take a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day.
Meal of the Week: Dinner
What are you having for dinner? Pork loin, steamed cauliflower and warmed apple maybe topped with some plain Greek yogurt.
I have been missing for the last few weeks. I tried purple, but I have gained almost 2 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Not sure if purple is the issue or Smart Points or too many holiday gatherings. But I am back on Points Plus as of yesterday at least until the new year. I may try purple again, but not sure. I have struggles with any plan associated with Smart Points.

Hello everyone! First, I'm going to give myself a + bravo sticker for exercising fairly regularly this week. It has not been every day, which is my goal, but I think I hit about 4 days this week. The scale isn't budging, exactly the same every week, but if I keep adding positive behaviors then I will tip the scale (literally and figuratively) in my favor.
Do you exercise regularly? I do not. When I lost 50 lbs I walked practically every day. I fell out of that habit and I finally got a treadmill so I can do it inside. It's perfect. No excuses.
If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started? I am angry at the idea of exercising. I'm usually good at things so being terrible at fitness is a source of embarrassment and shame for me. I have to exercise by myself or at a level that I feel confident in. Walking is both. I'm also a fairly good dancer so I could do that in a more public setting. I have a PiYo DVD and some weights at home and I'm comfortable doing them as long as my husband is not home. lol
Make a goal: What are you going to do for exercise this week? I'm going to exercise at least 5 times. Treadmill.
What are you having for dinner? Spaghetti (8PP), Homemade Pizza (9PP), Chicken Kabobs with Mashed Potatoes (8PP), and Mexican Chicken Bake (9PP)

-If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started? I forgot to answer this part. To be honest, it never bothered me if I didn't exercise. I could always think of something better to do or some excuse not to go to the gym. Even paying for the gym didn't encourage me to go. Sad but true. I think the Peloton is working because they have so many instructors & classes. The classes feature a variety of music so I can always find something I enjoy. If I find an instructor that isn't my cup of tea, no problem. So far, I've only found one I didn't like & that's because she never shut up the entire class. Since I'm home, I can blast the music & sing along. In conclusion, I have to enjoy myself to continue to exercise. Good health isn't enough to get me off my rear. Yesterday, I rode my Peloton & took a scenic ride through the Alps. I recognized the area from the Tour de France. My plan is to exercise 5 days this week.

Do you exercise regularly?
Not at the moment.
If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started?
I haven't been able to find a way to work it into my current schedule. I used to go in the mornings before work. Before I was a civil servant, I could go the gym, then go to work for 9:30 or 10:00 am and I would stay until about 6:00 to 6:30 pm. Now, I have to be at work much earlier and I leave earlier, but I have to pick up the kids at daycare and we have extracurricular activities most evenings. Lunch doesn't seem to work for me, as I often don't have time to take a full lunch and I usually have meetings right after lunch and don't want to be all sweaty and gross.
If so, what are the routines (laying out your clothes, setting an alarm for a time of day, etc.) or thoughts (I’ll feel so much better once I’ve exercised, I’ve already scheduled it so I’m doing it, etc.) you have in place to make sure that you exercise?
When I did exercise, I would remind myself how much better I would feel and I would tell myself that it was an investment in myself, so it didn't matter that I was going to be late for work.
Make a goal: What are you going to do for exercise this week?
Honestly, this week is not going to be a week for exercise for me as I am on kid duty with the husband being away. I'm just trying to get through the week!
This Week’s Routine: Get up and walk at least five minutes each hour.
I used to try to do this and my fitbit buzzes at 10 to every hour if I haven't had 250 steps that hour, but I've learned to ignore it lol.
This Week’s GHG: Vitamins: Take a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day.
I need to get better at this. I have not been taking my vitamins regularly for quite some time.
Meal of the Week: Dinner
What are you having for dinner?
Not too sure yet. We have activities this week on Tuesday and Thursday, so we will have to eat on the run for those days. I'm thinking curry for tonight.

If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started? I always have an excuse. I started out going to far for too many minutes last time and could not walk for a month (almost literally) so when I start back in again will either walk outside, do stretches, lift weights, use the machines in the basement or do some combination of all of these. BUT will begin slowly!
When I do exercise I have specific clothes I use and it is done first thing in the morning and usually just after breakfast. i make it happen before or by 10am or it won't get done. I have plans to begin again when my daughter leaves on the 28th of this month. I could start earlier but...we will see.
This Week’s Routine: Get up and walk at least five minutes each hour. Hmm...I did this for awhile. I set the timer and it did make a difference in some ways. Will try that again.
This Week’s GHG: Vitamins: Take a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day. credit for this one...do this every day...it is a habit
Meal of the Week: Dinner - What are you having for dinner? It varies...if we have a bit lunch I sometimes skip dinner or have nuts or a fruit or something light.

*Do you exercise regularly?
Yes and no. I do attend yoga classes regularly, but tend to wax and wane on my 30 minutes of daily walking.
*If not, what are the feelings (frustration, anger, fear, guilt, etc.) or thoughts (I don’t have time, I’m too tired after work, etc.) that keep you from getting started?
I can find any excuse under the sun.
*If so, what are the routines (laying out your clothes, setting an alarm for a time of day, etc.) or thoughts (I’ll feel so much better once I’ve exercised, I’ve already scheduled it so I’m doing it, etc.) you have in place to make sure that you exercise?
What works best for me is having an interesting book or podcast that I only listen to while walking. The distraction helps the time pass and I love the accomplishment of finishing both a walk and 1/2 hour of reading.
*Make a goal: What are you going to do for exercise this week?
In addition to 2 yoga classes, I will walk 5 of 7 days.
*This Week’s Routine: Get up and walk at least five minutes each hour.
My Garmin reminds me to do this, but I am good at ignoring it.
*This Week’s GHG: Vitamins: Take a multiple vitamin-mineral supplement every day.
I do this faithfully. I also take Calcium, Lutein, D3 and B Vitamins.
*Meal of the Week: Dinner What are you having for dinner?
This week I have had: Sunday-Chicken/Sausage Gumbo, rice and coleslaw, Monday-Hamburger & Tator Tots with salad, Tuesday-Pork Roast,Rice & gravy, beets and peas, Wednesday-Baked Redfish topped with Lump Crabmeat, Crab & Brie Soup & Salad(restaurant meal) and Thursday - Brats, potatoes and sauteed cabbage.
