Ginny, I somehow missed your post last night. Dh said the cheesecake was good. Still I made him the walnut tarts today and calzones. Calzones are a lot of work esp after making the tarts which also take a bit of work making and putting the shells in the tart pan then filling then making and rolling out dough and putting in filling for the calzones but we have to keep our sweeties happy.
Sounds like you had another very busy day, Ginny....yesterday and today both.
I did do a little crocheting before I started cooking but not too much. I made a couple more earwarmers last night and finished the one I started last night this morning. some of them I made them with Red Heart metallic and put some fur yarn on the edges. Last night I made a couple more with the metallic yarn but this time edged them with white RHWL metallic and they look way nicer that way I think. So I'm going to make a couple more that way and also larger because the ones I made fit me but my dgd's and their friend have a lot of hair so they may need larger ones
CJ, thanks for the links to the fabric you used. They're beautiful and I know they made a nice quilt!

Good morning!
Ruth, not to worry about missing my post....the past 2 days were busy and I did not get here much. Was this a new cheesecake recipe that you tried? I know you differentiated between a NY cheesecake and others..guess what I make is a NY cheesecake from a recipe I got in college. Its insanely rich and dense. I do not make it often. Yes we have to keep our Dh’s happy- I have a friend who buys premade pizza dough from the grocery store when its on sale and then uses that as a vehicle to make a calzone type meal stuffed with almost any leftover. Anyway, you sure were busy making all the food that you did, but its so nice that your Dh seems so appreciative of it all. That does make it seem to be less like work and more like an act of love. I know your winter home might not have the kitchen you have where you are now, so I guess that means that you will not be able to take on huge cooking days like you just did for a little while. Its all good, as it will give you more time to crochet! Earwarmers made from metallic yarn and edged in fur sound so very pretty! Think you have found a winning combination of yarn and pattern...bet you could sell them if you wanted to at a craft fair. (But I know they are gifts).
Yes, I checked out CJ’s panels last night and they are so very pretty. So much fabric....so little time.
Woke up early hearing Ds leave for work. I have 2 Christmas cards to write, then will spend some time in the Word, then get to wrapping. Dd is heading over here later this morning. And I would like to get working on that second Bible cover. I have only started cutting it out.
Happy Saturday all Ginny

Hello Crafters Ruth - I give you a lot of credit for doing that cooking and baking for your DH, I hope he appreciates and enjoys it. I'd be heading to the prepared foods or frozen foods section if I needed a calzone or cheesecake Ginny - Hope you are able to get to the bible cover soon. I'm sure this is a really busy time for you with the grandkids and getting ready for the holidays. Meg, Phyl and Sue - Hope you are all doing well and getting in some crafting. I'm glad you could see the fabric, it's really pretty. I starched and pressed all my fabrics today and hope to do some cutting later. It should go together really quickly since it's just strip piecing. I cut really large (8 inch) pieces of fabric for the outer border so it will show off the print. The more I've looked at the Rudolph quilt, the more I like it. I will definitely make another quilt like this using some other fabrics that I don't want to cut into small pieces. It was sunny here today and not too cold. I'm glad that I haven't had to go out for a few days, last week was busy for me. I do have to go out once more before Christmas to take cards/gifts to the family that live in the area since I didn't want to mail those. Then I'm hoping that I'll get to watch some Christmas movies in the next few days since I haven't really felt in the Christmas mood this year. It probably would have helped to have done some decorating, but I didn't feel like it this year. Take care everyone!

Ok I found out that the cheesecake I make is not NY style but Italian style. I use Ricotta cheese for dh's cheesecake. It does use cream cheese also and 4 eggs. a little flour and a little cornstarch, and of course sugar. The kind I like is made with only cream cheese and eggs and after being baked has a layer of sour cream mixed with sugar on top. Ginny your recipe sounds delicious. I didn't make one for me because I'd have to eat the whole thing. My kids and grandkids love my kind and in fact when I told my son I would reimburse him for all the gas and anytime he's taken off work to help with my finding property there he told me I could reimburse him by making him a cheesecake which I will certainly make
Ginny i hope you do get a chance to get the Bible cover done but I can imagine all the gift wrapping you have to do ...well you're probably more organized than me and wrap as you bring home the gifts you intend to give. Yes the present kitchen area where we're going soon is very small. There's really no counter space and I'm used to a lot. Once we remodel we'll have more counter space and a larger kitchen.
CJ, I did look at the fabric links you posted and saw the fabric then just now I put in a search for Rudolph quilts and they're beautiful!! And it sounds like you're coming right along with getting it done.
All I did today crafting wish is sort out my crochet hooks. I have loads of them but most are real cheapies I bought on Amazon. I do have a nice set of Clover Armour but keep losing track of my H hook which is the one I use the most.
Meg, Phyl and Sue, I hope that you, along with Ginny and CJ, have a great evening.

Good evening, Laughing at Ruth’s comment, about H hooks, think I have a ton of them myself and I do use them a lot. The cheese cake sounds delicious Ruth. My cheese cake recipe calls for sour cream, cottage cheese, cream cheese, eggs, vanilla. Lemon juice and sugar. It’s disgustingly rich. But very good. Your cheese cake (the one you make for yourself) sounds great also. Do you ever put fruit on top?
CJ- so glad you are so happy with the Rudolph quilt! Hope you can watch a movie or two that gets you more in the Christmas spirit.
Watched a movie with Dd #2 today (Hallmark channel). She will be staying here tomorrow night as her husband is traveling overnight and she does not want to be in the apartment alone. It will be so nice having her home for the night.
TIme for me to cut fabric. Night all Ginny

Ginny, that will be so great to have your dd spend the night. You can have a lot of mother/daughter chats including maybe while you're sewing the Bible cover. When I made the cheesecake I was wondering if there were recipes that use cottage cheese. Could you send the recipe? Only if and when you have time though please because I won't be making it right away although I should because I have cottage cheese....although now that I think of it I don't have sour cream. That's another reason why I couldn't make myself one of the kind I like. If I hadn't made dh the calzones I would have made him lasagna to use up cottage cheese. We used to use ricotta for that but then dh told me to try using cottage cheese (which he really dislikes) so I did that and he said he couldnt tell the difference so we've been using cottage cheese ever since because it's cheaper than ricotta.
Right now while writing this, I'm watching my recorded Bills/Patriots game in which the Bills, as is typical for them, are really messing up. I'm sure they lost. I really dislike the Patriots. When my sister was here visiting she had a t shirt of which said, "my favorite team is the Buffalo Bills and anyone who beats the Patriots" I want one of those (although I'm not much of a football watcher anymore. I used to be a football fanatic)
Ok back to crocheting. Have a great night

Hello Crafters - Everyone must be busy today since we haven't had any posts. Hope you are all doing well It was a sunny, not too cold, day here. I'm glad we haven't been getting any of the rain that they are having in the south and the pacific northwest. I think the whole week ahead is going to be 50s and no rain. I went to my DB and DSIL's house today to take the cards/gifts for them and their family. They have two of their children and the grandchildren over on Christmas Eve. The grandchildren are all in their 20s now, but I still think of them as the kids I need to check out the blogs on Slow Sunday Stitching and I did get a lot of my fabric cut for the other Christmas quilt I'm working on. I ended up not liking the design I planned for so I'm trying to figure something else out. Take care everyone!

Hello everyone, It has been a cold wet windy day here. DS and Devin and I did my big shopping this morning so I am hoping that I don't have to make another trip to the store, We went to the commissary early and it was not too busy. I had a little nap in my recliner this afternoon. This evening I will knit and watch TV. I started knitting a cap as I wanted something smaller to work on when I went to Knit Wits on Friday. Afghans get to the point where they are too bulky to take with me. On Friday we had a gift exchange I got a very nice scarf and also a angel pin. Everyone brought some goodies to share and we had a fun afternoon.
cj, if you like Christmas movies try the Hallmark channel. That would probably get you in the mood for Christmas. Though I am looking forward to a quiet day. I will bring DD home on Christmas Eve and we will celebrate Christmas then. On Christmas day DGD will take Devin to spend the day with friends. I am glad you had a nice time with your DB and his family.
Ruth, I take it that you are moving, will it be a permanent move? My next door neighbor is putting his house up for sale right after the holidays and he hasn't put up any outside lights this year. So it is a wee bit dark over there.
I can't see your latest posts to respond to them. so I will wish you all a good evening. Take care and stay warm.
