Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! I had a busy and fun-filled Friday and I just noticed I never got around to posting. First of all I had to be at school by 8 a.m. for the Staff Meeting/Christmas Party and Secret Santa reveal. It was quite a fun time and the food (catered by Panera Bread Co) was delicious! I met my Secret Santa who was a gal who works in our building and we pass in the hall now and then, but had never really "met". Now I have a new friend! There was lots of laughter and hugs and a wonderful way to start a day.
I was finished there by 9:30 and gassed up my car and then grocery shopped at Meijer and brought everything home and put away. The gals (at school) had mentioned lunch. I stopped to check my email only to discover I was not receiving email on my main account. I had to call the IT guy and he walked me through redoing some of my settings. Seemed their parent company had updated some potential security threats. While I was finishing up with him on the phone I got a text that they were headed to lunch at a restaurant right nearby so I got ready then got a text they were waiting for me! I left the computer and went out and had a fabulous time!
A lot of our conversation was about the Instant Pot. One friend told me she uses hers all the time! She loves it! Also that Costco had it on sale right now. DH had asked me if I wanted one but I didn't know enough about them to tell him which one I wanted?? But by the time I got home and talked to him, he said he already had chosen his Christmas gifts for me; so why didn't we buy it for both of us from Santa? That sounded really good to me. Then I went online to Costco.com and there it was! I decided to skip the crowded parking lot, slow lines in the store, and just order it (it came with free shipping). The price was fantastic and I never had to leave the house. The reviews are great on this one as well.
Thursday night we drove over an hour to the Rehab Center to visit DBIL, then we stayed a couple of hours and ate supper with him, then the long drive home. It was quite an evening, but the good news is that he will be coming home today and his oldest son will be staying with him. Their sister wanted to come this weekend but they are now waiting until next weekend (between the holidays) which I think will work out better. I am looking forward to getting to spend some time with her.
Last night we met my VBF and her DH for supper. The place we had chosen was some distance away and had a dish I really enjoy called "Shepherd's Pie". I've only eaten at two places that have it on the menu. I ate less than half of it and brought it home, so it will probably be two lunches :-)
Judy ~ I also am a fan of the immersion blender. A few years ago when I started making Butternut Squash Soup at home my DH was out Christmas shopping and happened to call right at the time I was pouring it into the blender and wishing I had an easier way. He brought home a Cuisinart Smart Stick (and wrapped it and put it underneath the tree) which I still use all the time!! Safe travels to you!! Have a fabulous time and make great memories!!
Pam ~ I had to LOL at all the cute stories about phrases little ones use! Congrats on your WL that is quite an accomplishment especially this time of year. How great that you like your new stylist! It can be hard to find just the right fit. Glad also that the PT is helping your DH. I did see the news report about the police in White Lake. That is where your DD lives, right?? It adjoins Waterford (which is where we live).
Ann ~ You certainly are a great friend to Donna. She is so very lucky to have you. Hopefully she will get the things she needs but it may just take time?? So glad you got a good night's sleep. For me, that makes all the difference in the world. Wednesday night I was so tired I went to bed early, then woke up a couple of hours later and again every hour on the hour. I hate when that happens!!
Today I am cleaning house and switching over to winter rugs and redid the bathroom with some Christmas towels, etc. It seems everything needed cleaning at the same time - resulting in enough laundry to keep me busy all day. I may leave some of it since I am off next week and Monday and Tuesday are both totally FREE! My shopping and wrapping are done and I bought our food "treats" yesterday so I am actually caught up. We are home tonight (maybe a Hallmark Christmas movie?) and then tomorrow we are meeting friends for a midday brunch then back home. Yay!!
I am still enjoying the Christmas music very much. We have one radio station that plays exclusively that and I have it on right now - then there's always my Echo which plays Sirius XM radio when I ask Alexa. So I have a lot of choices. I am hoping to do some reading this afternoon.
BBL. Make a great day!!
