Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well I had a few days with my knees hurting so I couldn't get my walking in, but I was able to walk today, so I'm happy about that. I figure any little bit of exercise helps. Have a great weekend!

Hello Weight loss sorta dropped off. I turned off my alarms and forgot about it. Gotta turn them back on and get back to work. I'm going to meal plan tomorrow and head to the grocery store. DH is going out of town for the week, so it should be easier to stay on plan, I just have to make sure I don't wear myself out during the day so that I can cook dinner. Journaling is really, really helping me keep a positive outlook. Nothing important falls by the wayside... at least not for too long. cj59, I'm so sorry your knees are hurting. I'm glad you felt well enough to walk. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Hi. . I am starting over today as a Vegan instead of the junk Ive been eating lately I got Dr. Barnards book and I join the 21 days kickstart on PCRM.org . I learned that edamame which I always liked out of the shell is a legume with a lot of protein. And I learned that sweet potatoes are a vegetable which I really like too. I ordered this from Whole Foods and it is being delivered soon this morning between 8am and 9am. I will stem in microwave the edamame and maybe the sweet potatoes too. I will mix them together and eat. I just had oatmeal and an apple. I have sprouted grains I n rye bread which in an hour or two I will toast and put on some sugar free jam. No fat or extra sugar. Edamame hs some natural fat. But lots of protein nf other minerals. modest in fiber. But sweet potatoes are high in fiber and oatmeal and apples 3 a day have lots of fiber. The idea is to eat carbs that have water and fiber thus bulk so you feel full but not eating as much. Jeff Novck a famous dietitian talks about calorie density. The idea is to et food with lower calorie density. cashews has much higher calorie density than potatoes. Fat haws the most calorie density. I learned a lot from watching Jeff Novice lecturer on u tube.

Sorry I've been MIA. Between cleaning and the cool fronts blowing in, my allergies have been really bad. Culminated in a massive migraine at 2am this morning. Ron even got up with me to re-heat my masks and take care of me. He's a good guy, he really is. I'm starting to feel human again and I don't want to take any more advil because I get rebound headaches if I take too many. I did manage to cook some diced chicken thighs and toss together chicken tacos for lunch. I needed something in my tummy and nothing sounds good, and I needed to use the chicken, so chicken tacos it is. I really like the Mission extra thin corn tortillas for things like this. They're low points and they are really pliable after 10 seconds in the microwave - or you can microwave them for 45 seconds, flip and go another 45 seconds and get a hard tostada base from them.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - I'm glad you are enjoying journaling and I hope this week is easier for you and your meal cooking. amrys - Good luck with the new plan, that seems like a healthy way to eat. sunrose - Hope you met your daily step goal today. DotRen - I'm sorry to hear about your migraine and I'm glad you are feeling better. Hope everyone else checking in is doing well. My knees and legs are better and I've been able to get my walking in this weekend. They are fine if I'm moving, it's when I stand too long on them without moving around much that cause my knees to lock up. I need to remember not to do that. Take care everyone!

Start over tomorrow. Got vegetable broth at the store for lentil stew this week. But I was hungry when I went to store and picked up chocolate. I ate a bunch today. Gave the rest away. Made lentil stew for tomorrow. I made it with sweet potatoes. Have that to eat tomorrow.

amyrs, how do you make your lentil stew? My grandfather always made it and it was wonderful (his version of chicken soup when we were sick lol).

Hi everyone! Just a quick pop in to say hello. I haven't really been around much. I have not been restricting my food at all, nor have I been intentionally exercising. I'm trying to work through some stuff to get to a better headspace, and I think I'm doing well, although I have a long way to go. I really need to start taking better care of myself, so I'm working on that. I am trying to let the weight aspect go, but it's hard.
Hope you all are doing well!

wwlurker - Hang in there I'm glad you trying to take care of yourself, it's so difficult for us to do that when we have so much going on in our lives, like you do. Hope everyone is doing well today

I woke up headache-free for the first time in a week today. I decided to break out my wedge pillow (7") last night and that may have done the trick. Sleeping on it puts my neck at a different angle and takes some of the muscle tension off it. I also doubled my magnesium supplement yesterday since it helps relax muscles. I get into a cycle of migraine = tense neck muscles = ongoing headaches. I don't like to take too much advil because rebound headaches are no joke.
Anyway. Also completely avoided gluten yesterday and will keep doing that for a few days just in case there's a connection.
Talked to a friend in CBS Newfoundland(just West of St Johns) and they're digging out of the nearly 4 feet of snow and blizzard over the weekend. He said his power was out for a couple of hours but they have oil stoves/heaters so they didn't have any problems keeping warm.
Hope you all are well, loving the spring-like weather here. It's in the 40's-60's now instead of near 80 lol. We really didn't have a winter, at all, so this is nice.
