Also, just revealed: a failed strike on another Iranian in Yemen at the same time as the one in Iraq. Let's see how they spin this.

I believe there is no truth in him. None. Not even a teenie tiny bit.
He is a liar. It's not like he lies once in a while. If he's screaming (He doesn't talk even though he has a mic) he screams lies.
Every word is a lie. Lying is his MO. Lying is his language. His native tongue. He doesn't know how to tell the truth. He can't do it so don't expect to hear it.
Truth is a foreign language to liars. They speak only lies. They can not speak the truth. They don't know how.

Good Grief can JA actually do this. Our US Soldiers aren't paid mercenaries for goodness sakes! Wonder, as some else suggested, how much of this $1 Billion is going to find its way into Trump family bank accounts!!!

Joyce, hope you & yours are safe. Sounds like more nasty storms for your area today. I'll take a good old fashioned blizzard anyway, compared to the storms the South gets.

It's all about the Benjamins and getting his ego stroked. Nothing else matters.

Good morning! We got home about 12:30 last night but had a wonderful trip to California. It was lots of fun revisiting some of our favorite places from when we lived there, and of course spending time with my sister-in-law. Now to get back to reality with unpacking, laundry, etc. Where's that housekeeper that cleaned our room everyday when I could really use her? As for the news, I have listened to very little of it while we were gone. From the little that I have heard my thoughts are that even though Sulemani was undoubtedly a horrible person, clearly (to me at least) there was no imminent threat or they'd be able to identify what it was. Saying "trust me" just doesn't work with this administration that we have learned the hard way lies with every breath. So rather than making the world safer, IMO he's only made us far less safe at what may turn out to be the cost of many lives. I think he did this all simply to try and refocus the news cycle from impeachment and to look "tough" to his base. As for the Ukranian plane that was shot down by the Iranians, I don't understand why planes were allowed to be flying in the first place when this was going on but the JA's hands are not clean because if he hadn't started the whole mess just to stroke his own ego it would have never happened. So he doesn't bear the full blame, but ultimately there is still blood stain on his hands. Off to unpack . . . I'll check back in later.

I was sad to see Corey Booker dropped out. I don't think he could have won the nomination, but he always brought interesting thoughts to the debates. Someone, I forget who, was on the TV this morning, saying that the Democrats need to change the rules for running for President in the party. I realize there has to be a way to par down the candidates, but, sometimes I think many have to drop out because they have no hope of getting on a debate stage & then its hard to get their message across. Sanders & Warren sniping at each other is not helping either. Sounds like Bloomberg is getting on JA nerves...Susan Collins is making promises about being fair, trying to make sure there are witnesses, etc, but when push comes to shove, she will disappoint again & fall in step with the other enablers of JA.
Joyce, happy to hear you had a great week of fun, visiting & relaxing. You certainly earned it after all you have been thru the few years.

Welcome home, Joyce! You look calm and rested. You were missed.
Trust me? Lol. Too funny.
When I heard the Liar-in-chief spoke those 2 words I had an image of an owl perched up high in a barn. A little mouse was scurrying in and out of hiding places on the floor. Safe places where the owl could not reach the frightened little mouse. Owl says, "Come out of hiding. I won't eat you. Trust me."
I hope at least some of us are as wise as that little mouse.

I liked Corey Booker too, and I hope he will have a better chance another time. I do think it is time to narrow down the field to those with a possibility of winning. Linda, I agree that Democrats need to make some rule changes. No offense to Bernie, but one rule I would change is that you have to actually be a Democrat. We all know money is critical, but it shouldn't be the primary criteria. There are some good people that don't really have the chance to get their message out, and one of the reasons is that the news media seems to pick top tier candidates early on and others get very little coverage. It also rubs me the wrong way that Bloomberg seems to be trying to buy his way forward. I would definitely vote for him if he should get the nomination, but I think they should all have to work for it and compete the same. I'd also change the states that go first in the caucuses/primaries.
As for Susan Collins, I've lost all faith in her, and I agree that she will cave when as Linda says push comes to shove. Thus far she's never stood up, and I don't expect her to now. Of course, I know Marsha Blackburn won't. Her head is so far up the JA's you know what that it's like he has four legs. Alexander most likely will not even run again, and yet he's also too much of a coward to stand up and do the right thing.

It looks like we're finally getting to the finale on impeachment. From everything I hear and read Nancy is going to send the papers to the Senate. What do you think the chances are that we'll actually get to hear testimony from witnesses? I'm not holding my breath. In many ways it's all been a big waste of time except that if Democrats don't stand up for the Constitution, who will? Certainly not those Republicans who used to shout so loudly about being strict Constitutionalists. I remember one lady especially who used to post on a political WW thread when Obama was President and who was always so adamant that Democrats were destroying the Constitution and that Republicans were the only hope of saving it. I haven't seen her around in years, but I think of her once in awhile now and wonder just what she would say about all of this. Where are those Republicans riding in on white horses to save the Constitution when it actually is in jeopardy? They seem to be hiding behind Mitch McConnell's coat tails. Tonight's the last debate before Iowa caucuses. It would be just about impossible not to know that because all the news stations tell us about every 5 minutes. LOL! I expect to be watching. One thing that will be interesting after this debate is to see what affect it has on the polls with three senators in Washington for impeachment rather than on the campaign trail. I expect it may hurt Amy Klobuchar the most, and I hate that as I like her a lot but then I don't really see her as being able to win the nomination. Still she's one of the favorites with me. After 2016, however, I have no actual confidence in any polls.

LOL, Joyce....That "lady" you mentioned will probably still be making up excuses & justifying all GOP actions, etc. People like her, tend to turn things around & twist the facts til they fit their agenda. The problem is they are too narrow minded to even "think".
So, anyone want to bet that the Putin & JA phone call from a few weeks go, didn't include the request to hack into Barisma Company, Ukraine to get ahold of emails about the Bidens. JA always said he would use foreign entities to gain info on his opponents. Even said it in the Oval Office...So, here we go!!!
JA cuts food stamps, etc, but "steals" another 750 Million from defense fund for his wall without Congressional approval. UGH!
This Bernie & EW is going to hurt the Democrats in the end. How soon they forget the goal is to beat JA, not each other! Enough already! Jeez!
I like Amy K. too.
I'm more than cranky this morning, so, I think I should just go find some calming tea, sit in the corner & snap out of it...LOL

Linda, I think that's a pretty safe bet that JA got Putin to hack into Barisma. With him there is nothing out of bounds. Heck! He openly asked them to hack into Hillary and the DNC, so adding Burisma isn't a stretch. I really wish Bernie and EW would not get into a playground brawl. That can't be good for anyone. If Bernie said that a woman couldn't win, he should not have said it; but EW using it as an attack isn't good for either one of them and certainly isn't good for beating the JA. I wish some miracle would happen and they would suddenly all grow up and put the country over their own personal egos. That's never going to happen though. Pigs really will fly before politicians on both sides of the aisle can get over their egos.
Maybe we should just all move to England. Then all we'd have to worry about is how Harry & Meghan will support little Archie if they stop cutting ribbons and giving speeches.

Yes, amyrs, I think Amy did well. I do like her a lot. In fact, if she's still a primary contender when they get to TN I likely may vote for her, but I'm not expecting her to still be in the race then. Too bad. She's a strong, smart lady. Overall, I think they all did well in the debate, even Steyer. For the first time he had a little more time to speak, but I don't think he has any chance to win. It irritates me that he and Bloomberg seem to think they can buy their way into the Oval. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I hope I am wrong about it. The most memorable moment of the night probably did come when Elizabeth put Bernie in his place about women winning. Now they both just need to move on from that. Nobody made any big mistakes, but nobody did anything really great either. For the most part, I thought they all performed fairly equally. Mayor Pete's lowest moment was probably about the lack of support from the black community. I didn't think he answered that very well. I loved his comment, however, about bone spurs. I'm tired of hearing about Biden vs Bernie on the Iraq war issue. Biden got it wrong. Bernie got it right. It's been almost 20 years. Let's move on from that. I want to know about what I can expect right now. So I came away from the debate with nothing new one way or the other. What about the rest of you? The new information about the former Ukrainian ambassador being surveilled by Guiliani and his henchmen for the JA is truly creepy and scary. It feels like we're living an episode of The Godfather.

Gosh, I think I came away from last nights debate, not very enthusiastic about anyone candidate. I thought it was a very ho hum debate. Maybe its just me, but, most of the candidates on stage didn't even look very excited to be there to press their case of why they should be President. I'm getting more worried by the minute that JA could very well win 200...UGH
Stalking the Ukraine ambassador...Wow, pretty low & very suspicious ...How can their be any doubt about JA motives with Ukraine, Bidens, etc. Jeez!
