Did anyone notice the EW snub of Bernie's handshake at end of debate. They had some words & each walked away with a not happy face. Steyer happened to come between them to say Goodnight & heard part of the conversation, but won't say what he heard. Good for him! He could take advantage of a moment like that for political purposes, but chose not to. I have respect for that.
Maybe I'm just tired & cranky from all the political stuff each & every day, I just couldn't focus on last nights debate to really get a feel for it. I still like Amy, but i fear she won't win the nomination. EW did look strong, but she is so far behind Biden, that I just wonder if she can ever work her way to the top.
Now we will be glued to the TV for the Senate trial. It will be televised, right?

I did notice that between EW and Bernie last night when he held out his hand and she didn't take it then he kind of waves it around as he's prone to do to cover for it. My bet is that he did say what EW says he said. Maybe he didn't mean it in the way it came out, but most likely he did and was trying to discourage her from running. Unfortunately, it's a fact that women have to work harder, and one thing you have to say for EW is that she is has worked hard. To be honest, I'm really growing tired of Bernie. I'll vote for him if he ends up with the nomination, but he's definitely not my favorite. Like you Linda, as much as I like Amy I don't think she has any real chance to get the nomination. I'm also growing more and more concerned that Biden doesn't have what it takes to beat the JA. Whether any of the Ukraine stuff is true or not, it's already tainted him. He's coming across as very low energy, and I'm afraid he's just not going to be strong enough to take the JA down as we know whoever is running it will get very, very ugly. I'm afraid Bernie and Elizabeth can't pull in the swing voters, so I'm terrified we could end up with another four years of the JA.
I hope the Senate trial will be televised, but I haven't heard. Right now I am just holding my breath that it will actually be a trial and not a farce and that there will be witnesses. Ted Cruz is pushing to call the Bidens to testify. I despise Ted Cruz. If the Bidens did something wrong, then they should be held accountable but THIS trial really should have nothing whatsoever to do with what they did or did not do. This trial is about what the JA has done. If they want to go after the Bidens, as I see it that is a separate issue entirely.

nashville11, Completely agree about the JA's "call the Bidens to testify" - it's just another deflection "don't look at what I did, look at what HE did".

nashville11 , Completely agree about the JA's "call the Bidens to testify" - it's just another deflection "don't look at what I did, look at what HE did". I know the Senate Republicans see that and know exactly what they are doing. I know Faux News sees that and deliberately misrepresents it. What I don't understand is why everyday, supposedly normal Republican voters don't see it. Do they really not see it or do they just turn a blind eye to it? For those doing financially well, maybe they ignore it because they think the JA's has been good for the economy. I don't agree. I don't think he's been bad for the economy, but I think he got lucky with what Obama had already turned around and put on the upswing for him. But there are many dirt poor Republican voters who are not one iota better off today than they were when he went into office. Some of them are even worse off. Yet, they continue to vote in their own worst interests. I'll never understand that.

nashville11, aside from the money angle, some of his supporters love that he constantly insults those book readin', college graduatin', mainstream media-consuming elites. I think they love his ignorance and his big mouth.

It's the "I resent anyone who has tried to better themselves while I laid around, complained, and did nothing to try and better my own circumstances," syndrome for some.

Off the topic, but when my DD started to college I was a single mom and it wasn't easy putting her through. (Heck! It wasn't easy when I put myself through as my parents didn't have the resources to send me.) So I have absolutely no sympathy for Lori Loughlin or any of the other parents out there involved in the college scam. Sure they wanted the best for their kids. I wanted the best for mine too, but I had to work hard to get it for her and she had to work hard to earn it. So when the Lori Loughlins of the world thumb their nose at taking places that most likely should have gone to more deserving students who worked hard and followed the rules, I don't have any respect for that.

nashville11, I was thinking of blue collar workers who feel that the media used to be controlled solely by what they would refer to as "elites". I don't think they are lying around doing nothing but complain; they are hard workers but not equipped to find other work when factory jobs have vanished due to offshoring and automation. It's one reason the immigration issue works so well for you-know-who. Those people take our jobs and do them for less pay - I'm paraphrasing his supporters here.

Parnas throws them all under the bus. Can Republicans continue to bury their heads in the sand and pretend it's all a witch hunt?

Joyce, they will still bury their heads & pretend its all a witch hunt. I think its also interesting to see what the State Department will say about the Ukraine Ambassador being under surveillance & the threats against her. That is downright scary. Pompeo,Barr, Giuliani, Pence, & that one Congressperson (can't think of his name. He was in pic with Parnas & President) should all be thrown in jail. No wonder Lindsey Graham says "lets get this crap over quickly". He knows JA is up to his ears in guilt along with the rest & he wants the Senate to not convict JA before the real "s..." not crap hits the fan.

POLITICS 01/16/2020 10:26 am ET Trump Administration Illegally Withheld Ukraine Aid, Congressional Watchdog Finds The Office of Management and Budget violated the Impoundment Control Act in the summer of 2019, the U.S. Government Accountability Office said.
Even this coming out this morning, this still not sway the GOP enablers to vote to convict in the Senate. Their heads are buried so far down into the swamp, they will never see daylight to acknowledge what the truth is .

Warren called Bernie out after the debate (the handshake that wasn't). I wonder if their mutual supporters will go for the other one, or if they will stay mad at the candidate that is not theirs? Assuming one of the two gets the nomination.

Marsha Blackburn wants the Democratic Senators running for President to recuse themselves from the Impeachment Trial in the Senate. Whaaaaaa??!!! Maybe all those GOP Senators who have said JA won't be impeached on their watch should recuse themselves.

This is a made for TV farce. It makes me wonder what's really happening in the rest of the world while we're being distracted with a two bit reality skit. As well as a waste of my money. They already know he won't be impeached? Then stop wasting my time and money, and insulting US. Go home if you're not going to do your job. Better yet, resign.
Can the USA sink any lower? I believe it can.

Maybe all those GOP Senators who have said JA won't be impeached on their watch should recuse themselves. Only if Mitch McConnell recuses himself. He's already declared the outcome. Don't think that shows impartiality.
