Merry Christmas everyone—hope you are all safe and healthy! It is a gloomy gray Vegas day here—chilly. Kitchen is cleaned and DH did the floors so looks nice—just grilling DH a steak tonight—easy peasy!
I got chopsticks for Jordan’s bowls and they look so nice—hoping he likes them. A little hand tool I ordered for DH came today—have not wrapped it—don’t usually get each other anything but I think he can use this when making wooden templates for me—one of which he did already. Doing a oom meetup with whichever of the kids can make it at 9:30 tomorrow—DGD16 set it up. No word yet about when DD and DGS’s are coming over to get their gifts but we will have to have the patio heater on for sure and maybe the fire pit as well.
I hit J Jill for a few minutes and got in on a fabulous sale—was looking at the 40% off rack when corporate notified them to mark everything in the store down by 50%! OMG, I got a pair of 89$ pants half off and two sale pair for only 29$—originally 89! Also a scarf for $9 and a sweater that was originally about 79 for only 32. Had to buy! LOL
Sue, I hope you and SO are okay—thinking how hard it has to be for SO losing his brother and only other family member—hope he’s okay.
WIll be the quietest Christmas ever for us—but I am excited about seeing how everyone likes their pottery—so fun to have made things for them all instead of buying.
Hope you all have a safe and Happy Holiday!

Holly did you resolve the issue with the batteries? DD here ordered an expensive Leatherman knife for DH and the package arrived empty from Amazon—Amazon would not refund her money—the only way to get the knife was to order another and accept the loss—-very expensive knife. She said the box arrived open and looked as tho it had never been sealed shut—she even took a picture to send them—nope, no refund. For all the money Amazon makes I thought that was terrible service.
DH , on the other hand, ordered an Apple home pod mini (he bought each grand kid one) to DGD20 and got a notice it was delivered yet there was nothing on the porch. So he called Best Buy—they sent another one—then he discovered it was in the mailbox so he had two—took one back—they did this asking no questions! Crazy.
We have had every day gloomy except Christmas Day for the past week—tired of the dark! This is not typical for Vegas at all!

Hi!
SO and I had a very quiet Christmas, just ourselves. My mom went over to my sister's house, all except my second nephew were home as well. Oldest nephew took the train up from Virginia, he is a medical intern at UVA. Haven't seen him since last year. But I spoke on the phone with everyone.
I made Beijing duck for our dinner. Instead of a whole duck I roasted 2 chicken breasts, also made the Mandarin pancakes from scratch. It was so good, and we had leftovers for next day's dinner. SO got me some very nice Bulgari bracelets and a couple of blouses. I got him 4 bottles of Scotch, shirts and some little things. I was very surprised by the jewelry.
Joan, thanks for telling us about Jojo. Your pottery work is truly beautiful.
Holly, hope you had a good Christmas with your family. Has your mom fully recovered from the virus?
Knock on wood we have not had any problems with our deliveries. Joan, I'm surprised by your experience with Amazon, they usually cater so much to the customers.
It has been warmer than usual here, the snow that we were supposed to get on Christmas ended up being a ton of rain the day before.
Last year this time we were getting ready for our 78 day cruise. Well we have reservations for the 2022 January world cruise 150+ days - yikes! Our most days yet, but by that time I'm sure we'll be so happy to travel. Then we have priority booking for a a 78 day cruise in January of 2023 that one goes around South America and to the Antarctic.
Joan, Hawaii will be so nice. A couple that we've been on 2 cruises with who live in San Fran, Tahoe and Arizona sold their Tahoe house (where they have been holed up for most of this year) and bought a house in Hawaii. They have family there so she is thrilled.

Hi All,
Joan, I would try again to see if a different rep will work with her. I used the chat feature and got a credit. My sister got a refund for one of hers as well.
Sue, she recovered pretty quickly, thank goodness. I am looking forward to traveling again as well. My BF would like to see a Broadway show in NYC. I would love to go see more of Europe.
Christmas was good. Just had dinner with my immediate family and later, the BF’s family. It was weird not doing Christmas with my dad’s extended family, but smaller gatherings are not so overwhelming. I got a couple of things for the house and a few books. The BF got my a blu-ray player so we can watch movies together. He is disturbed at the number of “must sees” that I haven’t seen, like the original Star Wars, haha.
My weight has finally stopped creeping up. I have a pinched nerve in my neck that is throwing everything else off. I’m planning to start going to the chiropractor.

Left eye was done this morning—can read really well even tho it’s still dilated. FU appt tomorrow and then another on the 5th when I meet with my eye dr and he tests me for glasses. So excited—hoping I find a pair I really love. Now the woodwork in my kitchen is really nice and white—amazing what a huge difference the cataracts make on colors and light.
I have been playing with clay again—free to mess around now and try out some new things since all the Christmas gifts are done!
No New Year’s plans of course. I did buy a bag of Marcona almonds, a couple pears and a small Brie cheese—just for a little snack.
today was finally full sun again—but I cannot go out walking until tomorrow—too dilated.
