Well, queen blabbermouth here will not be here as much as I thought. I wanted to head out to the store to get milk this am, and Dh convinced me not to go until he had left for the basketball game. Then Dd#2 stopped in to say hello- so I am finally here with a quiet house. Got a lot of house work to catch up on, and I have to decide if I am willing to drive to the store for milk. Its snowing now, a nice steady snow.....but not bad at all. Think I am going to wait till Dh is back with the big car before I venture out. We have a junker (which is here) and a good car for the snow. Dh has the snow car...
Guess I will vacuum and get busy with what I wanted to do. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I'm happy to hear you have your machine back and that it is working well. Hope you are able to go out if you decide too, and have safe travels. I've been collecting fabric for 20 years, and I have 3 large storage totes full of folded fabric and probably around 200 fat quarters stored in another cabinet. I'll never use it all in my lifetime Ruth - I have so many started, and unfinished, projects I certainly understand how that happens and how difficult it is to stick to one thing and get it done. And of course, there is always a new project that we see and want to do Phyl, Meg and Sue - Hope you are having a good weekend. We had some snow here this morning, then it turned to sleet and now just rain. It's cold too. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere. I finished cutting the white 5 inch fabric squares of both fabrics so now I have all the white squares done for the rest of the year. That will make it easier each month just to pick out 4 fabrics in the assigned color and then I have to cut 5 squares of each fabric. One of the white fabrics I bought (the new one) is a nice soft texture. I think this fabric would be nice to embroider on. I see lots of people on their blogs showing where they are doing embroidery onto fabric that is a white on white design, but I've never tried it - I just usually use muslin. I'm also going to thread more embroidery needles with the red floss so I can work on those stamped cross stitch squares, I still have 4 to get done and I'd really like to finish them this month. I'm going to need to go get more floss though, I didn't realize how much it would take. Wish I'd known that before I went to JoAnns yesterday Take care everyone!

Ginny, sorry your day didn't go as planned but hopefully you will have time later to do something you like after you've finished all that housework
CJ yes tat will be a big help to have those squares already cut out Congrats on getting that done ahead of time. Day before yesterday the high was 49 then yesterday 42. No mention was make of snow on the weather forecast but just before sunset I looked out and saw that some was coming. We got maybe 2 or 3 inches but not bad and the wind isn't bad but today the high so far has been only 26
Phyl, it sounds like you got a lot done. Probably all that work is what made you want to eat. McD's with a tv? Interesting.
Still working on dino hats. I ran out of yarn while working on the one this morning. It was Vanna's choice in a shade of brown. I had no more brown so picked another color and was sure surprised to find that, although it was supposedly the same weight...a worsted weight (medium)... it was quite a bit thinner than the brown. I know that happens a lot with Red Heart but didn't expect it in Vanna's.
Meg, I hope you are enjoying your weekend

Its so darned frustrating when the same weight yarn is not the same at all!! Ruth, I have had that happen also. Were you able to find something in your stash of yarn that worked?? Honestly, I wonder how the yarn industry gets away with it.
Phyl, congrats on being down .8! Who knows, even with a day of lots of snacking, sometimes you lose anyway. And you have 6 days until your next WI- so get back on track tomorrow and you will be fine. That is why we have additional points. Congrats on getting 2 paper pieced blocks done! It does get easier as you practice more. 15 degrees sure is cold ( it was around that this morning here). Stay warm.....
CJ- what a great idea to get all the white fabric cut and ready for use. Now you have that done for the rest of the year for happy quilting. How far is Joanns from your home? Perhaps they will have the floss on sale next week so the pain of going back there will not be so great.
Got my housework done, and it feels nice to have the place looking orderly. Of course that will not last long. Ds is travelling this week, so things will be a bit less messy. He pretty much keeps to himself and does not make much of a mess. Got no crafting done today. I did get my corner block fabric out, but the cat fell asleep on it and then I got busy cleaning. Ginny

I know that CIci's pizza buffet has tv's. Our McD's has a tv kinda thing at the counter where you give your order but all it shows is the food they sell
Ginny, it's always nice to see your house nice and clean but it sure doesn't usually last long...just like cooking and washing dishes. Soon after you're done you have to start.
I used the Vanna yarn anyway and it turned out ok but I had to add another row to make it tall enough.

where is everyone? I'm working on my last (I think) dino hat and this morning made a graph of my dgd's name. She is soon to have a birthday and I want to make her a hat with her name in it.
It's warmer here today than it was yesterday and much warmer than it is in Indiana surprisingly.
I was going to watch the AFC championship game but forgot. The channel for the later game which I think is probably in the second quarter by now, doesn't come in on our tv these days for some reason.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - Here I am Hope you can get your dino hat finished and start working on the hat for your DGD. Phyl - That's interesting about the TVs in McDonalds. I usually go through the drive-thru so I don't know if we have those in our area. Last time I was inside one I didn't see them. They'd probably be destroyed at the McDonalds around where I live, the area is not that great and people don't have much respect for other's property. Ginny, Meg and Sue - Hope you are getting some crafting in. I finished a book today and bought a few more for my Kindle, so it will be nice to start a new one. The weather here was sunny, but cold and a bit windy. I'm just glad not to have snow or ice. I spent some time this morning clearing off my table in my sewing room again. I also threw out about a third of the scraps I had saved - mostly the small ones and just kept the ones that were strips and larger pieces, as well as some squares that were 5-6 inches. I realized I was never going to use those scraps, so I just needed to let go of them instead of feeling like I had to use them. I have so much other pretty fabric in cuts of 1 or more yards and it would be nice to start working with those on some quilt tops instead of using fabrics I've already worked with. It does feel good to see the table cleared and hopefully I can still make one of the 10 minute table runners this month, or some other project. I did get my needles threaded to work on the embroidery, so maybe I can do that tonight. I also checked out the blogs linked to the Slow Sunday Stitching website, it's always enjoyable to see what others are working on. Take care everyone!

All is well, CJ has checked in to tell us about the Slow Stitching Sunday!! Good to hear that you made a decision to get rid of those tiny scraps. Its a dilemma that all of us face, and its a tough decision. With no specific plans to use the scraps then you made the right decision. Nothing more inspiring than a cleared off craft table, so that now you can lay out what you want to work on and plan for more pretty quilt blocks. I wonder CJ, do you have a design wall? (I do not). I hear they are helpful in planning on how to create. Hope that you enjoy the new books you got today!
Ruth, well the Chiefs won the first football game. I am not a Titans fan, so that made me happy. Bet those Dino hats are adorable too. Are you happy to move onto another pattern now? Yes, some days we get weather flips like that. I know sometimes in the summer it is warmer here in NY than even in Florida where my BIL and SIL live..
Phyl- do not have a Culver’s here....but I do not remember any televisions in Mickey D’s up here.
Got to church this am and then made a quick trip to the food store. Dd was here all of the day again today, so it has been really nice seeing her. But unfortunately I did not get near my machine today, except to drape the fabric over it so that the cat could not lay on the fabric like she did yesterday . It snowed here a bit today, but not enough to amount to much. Hoping that this evening goes quickly and well for me- and so things can resume to some normalcy tomorrow afternoon. Hard to believe that we start another week! Ginny

We don't have a Culvers here either. I have been to one in Indiana (or Kentucky on the Indy border) and I loved it except they have SO many choices that I didn't know what to order. Now my oldest grandaughter there works at that Culver so I'm sure I'll be going there again.
Ginny I hope all went well with your prep and will also go well tomorrow. I'll be praying of course. And try not to worry. Do as you told me and hum some Praise hymns.
I did finish the dino hat that I started this morning but I didn't start of the one for dgd yet and may do that yet tonight. I have to decide what yarn and what colors I want to use.
I tried to watch the last part of the Chiefs game (yes I was for them also) but that channel wouldn't come in but I was able to get the one that the 49er's game was one...that's the channel we usually can't get. I'm glad I got to watch it because I was so happy that the Packers lost...sorry Phyl. Now if only this channel will come in on Super Bowl day because it's on the same one.
