Hello friends! Ann - WHOOPEE! I'm so glad things went well with the surgeon. I know you are relieved. Sue - I hope things get better for you soon. Everyone I know who has had shingles said the pain was nearly unbearable. Like Ann said, we're all sending you healthy vibes and virtual hugs. Judy - How did you like the Avocado Cilantro dressing? It's a favorite of mine. You are so right that we all have good guys with many talents. Is it okay for Ann and me to wish that one of those talents was cleaning up their own messes? We had hospice team meeting this morning. Afterwards I called to try to set up a patient visit either today or tomorrow, but the visit was refused again. I will try again next week and if refused again, I will ask if they want to be changed to "as needed" for volunteer visits and call when they want one. This is what we usually do after 3 refused visits. Since I didn't have to make the hospice visit, I headed to the civic center walking track. My book was at such an exciting part, I hardly noticed that I made it twice around the track--2 miles. I haven't accomplished much since I got home, other than updating my Google calendar so that it and my paper calendar agree and renegotiating a new contract with Sirius XM that did not entail giving them a credit card number. (Had to interrupt this for a bit as our new friend from Illinois, who is wintering here, dropped in for a visit. She has decided to return home at her dad's request to help care for him and her mom, but will be in the area for another week.) Lunch was a chicken sandwich on Dave's thin sliced bread, baby carrots, yogurt & blueberries. Dinner will be leftover baked chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy and peas. After dinner we will head to town for Jude's basketball game at 7:30. They are playing one of the larger Baton Rouge schools, so I'm sure it will be an uphill fight, but I still enjoy seeing how the boys' skills are improving with their new coach. It's warm today and rain moved in, so I'm glad I got my walk in early. Tomorrow is supposed to be stormy. I'm sure this is the same system that will be bringing all of you more snow. My cousins in Salt Lake City got over a foot. Stay warm!

Sue you are very wise to have your PCP fax over the letter. That way there are no surprises.
Enjoy the fire with your DH.
Your computer guy sounds fantastic.
Yes we 3 are blessed in the DH department.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have an abundance of sunshine today which is rare in this neck of the woods. DH heard on the radio that our predicted snowstorm (tonight) has changed directions and now may miss us. Oh, drats, there goes our Snow Day!! Won't make any difference to me though.
No news at this end since all I do is sit around the house. I plan to do another mile walk with Leslie Sansone today and finish the book I am reading - then choose a new one. I may put a dark load of clothes in to wash, but then again I may do that tomorrow??
Ann ~ I think you are so wise to take an "Ann day" when you need to. Hope everything is okay?
Pam ~ The pain associated with shingles is due to it being a nerve disease (though viral) and it attacks the nerve endings - thereby making it very uncomfortable. I have been very lucky to be able to sleep well. Thanks for the warm wishes and kind thoughts.
Judy ~ I just know you're enjoying your new dressings. I really did when I first bought them too.
I had my DH do a visual inspection of my shingles lesions this morning and for the first time he thought the ones on the front show signs of starting to heal. The back broke out much later and much less and is already healing. Guess it was an afterthought?? <LOL> I keep waiting to wake up and *feel better* but so far that hasn't happened. I'll be doing handstands when it does.....
BBL. Make a great day!

Be careful doing those handstands, Sue LOL. If you are anything like me, it's best to pass Then again I've been labeled the worlds greatest klutz Well, so much for my Ann day. I decided to walk to pick up the mail and then we went to Hannaford's where I stocked up on stuff that I've been putting off. Now, once again, we are well stocked. I like that feeling. Now I am pretty much going to claim my Ann day. Just brewed coffee, so I'll take that to the sectional and enjoy it while I read. Sue I vote for doing the laundry tomorrow Take care all.

Ann ~ You do make me laugh! I also voted for doing laundry tomorrow - as well as changing our bed. I've never had so many choices time-wise. Yep, I'll put off doing the handstands too. I also love that feeling of being all stocked up.
I sorted the laundry and made the bed and cleaned up the kitchen and called it "done" for today. I did my one mile walk with Leslie Sansone which felt good. I have had lunch and tracked lunch and supper (which will be salad with grilled salmon).
I received a text from my lead Head Start teacher with a picture of a little guy who has befriended me. He is in the GSRP Program and when school started he walked over and introduced himself to me. Since then, he seeks me out regularly and always with a hug hello or good-bye. Everyone marvels over our friendship - including his teacher, who tried asking him if I reminded him of someone in his life, but he said NO. He still seeks me out when we are on the playground at the same time. Today my teacher took a photo of his little smiling face and texted it to me with a note "Jet was looking for you". Made my eyes tear up!! On my birthday, his class came into the gym when I was sitting talking with our principal and he stopped to hug me - and she looked at me questioningly, so I told her the story. She also got misty eyed and thanked me.
I have double checked the weather and it seems we are still going to have snow. Curious to see how much??

Hey all and happy hump day!
Sue, I sure hope those very painful shingles make their exit soon. So glad you have the meds. Imagine how much more people must suffer without the meds. You are a hero and so uncomplaining. What a good patient you are! I loved your story about your little friend at school. It's a very special bond and I’m sure you don’t even realize what an impact you have on his young life. Lucky him and lucky you to have this relationship. He loves you!
I am back from my monthly staff discounted cafeteria luncheon. It was delicious! I have to say that since I was in college, the food is SO much better and more varied. I had a chicken tikka masala with rice and roasted cauliflower. We all loved it. I had a side salad and for dessert an oatmeal cookie with a tiny bit of soft serve vanilla. But, the choices were endless. Lucky students. Not sure on the pts, but I will do my best to tally up.
Ann, glad you are having an “Ann” afternoon. I am with you. Nothing makes me feel “rich” more than having a fully stocked larder of food and necessities. It's such a great feeling. I am looking for a new book to read after I finished the last one. Any suggestions anyone?
Pam, I’m envious of the walking track in nice weather in your area. Have fun at Jude’s game tonight. What a great thing to be able to watch him play. I love the Cilantro avocado dressing. It hits the spot. It’s refreshing! Thanks for suggesting it. Still searching for the Garlic Expressions.
Last night we had another of the Freshly meals. They are so good and so helpful especially on busy work nights. DH had a salmon/wild rice and I had another Indian meal which was yummy. Tonight is turkey for him and a chili mac for me. All are so healthy and fresh and easy to count the pts – except for any sauces which I have to guesstimate. I even had time last night to duck out to the nail salon for a manicure – dip style. Ann and Pam, I thought of you both and went for a light pink sparkly polish! Natural looking with a little pizzazz! LOL
I went to my WI yesterday and I was a little disappointed. But, I am not going to beat myself up. I was up about 4/10 of an lb. It’s okay. I am staying the course and keeping on track. This week’s WI will show a loss and that’s that!
Have a great afternoon. My boss is still sick with a nasty flu/cold. I hope he stays home because I don’t want to risk getting it.
Make it a great day!

Judy I've always considered anything over or under 1# a maintain, based on information given to me by one of my most favorite leaders. Good job on not letting it derail you. Focus on how far you've come and celebrate all those good habits and food choices you are making.

Good morning all. Happy Thursday. If we don't get 'weather' I shall go to weight watchers to weigh in for the month and get my etool voucher. Last month our leader told us that they are doing away with the paper vouchers and that they will be updated our status via the computer. Makes no different to me either way. I'll let you know what happens should I go. We are supposed to get 'weather' so it will depend on that.
Carl has a late morning dental appointment. Weather will determine what we do after he comes home.
Will CBL....enjoy a nice happy OP day.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Happy Thursday! I love my "new" computer telling me the day and date and time when I sit down here I made Egg Muffins for breakfast this morning with red grapefruit cups (and of course, our Emergen-C drink). I woke up early (6:30) and decided it was toooo early, so went back to bed and then slept until 8 o'clock. That will have to come to a screeching halt next week when I will have to get up & ready for school. Our predicted "snow storm" was very minimal, only a ground cover in our area. However, our temps are cold at 26 that feels like 16. I am just as happy to be indoors. I have done my one-mile walk with Leslie Sansone this morning and also two sets of 50 each on my Power Rider. I have laundry in the washer and dryer, so stop and do another set each time I go down to change laundry. Ann ~ Enjoy your WW meeting. I also don't care either way what they do with the vouchers, as I am currently paid up for free e-Tools through December of 2024. Judy ~ I have to agree wholeheartedly with Ann. Anything that close (especially within a pound) is considered *maintaining*. You are doing that very well. Just remember where you COULD be! I am also struggling to lose a few lbs as I am "maintaining" a few pounds above my goal weight which causes me distress. Hopefully my adding exercise will help nudge the scale in the right direction as I have another WI in a couple of weeks. Glad you went with the pink sparkly as I am really loving mine! I am going to watch the midday news and see what's going on in the world. BBL. Make a great day!!
