This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Stellaaaaaa! I'm not in her way, just curious how she's swirling your world. I could not resist a Stanley call out. Hope all of your streetcars are operating despite snow on their tracks.
This car trip is bringing home how radical a mindset change I need. Driving while under the influence of fat is uncomfortable. I did not go crazy with car eating. We did go out for Mexican last night. It wasn't great, so it was easy to ignore the sides and the free, gooey dessert. One glass of wine and I was asleep by the hour that was formerly known as 8:30.
Good news is that my DBF and her family escaped Stella and are now enjoying a Texas spring in my home. I swear I would not have been ready for them if it weren't for my robot vacuum. Is it immoral to love an appliance?
Martha, sorry about the pounding. Not fun. Good for you, eschewing the chewy cookie. I did the same in the hotel lobby. Anne, is Austin overrun with SxSW right now? Our waitress last night is heading there today.
I am very excited to see DS tonight! Shari, you are describing a truly intense experience of clean-out. I feel for you.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone; I hope there is power for all.

Good morning CATs, DH is off for groceries, laundry is churning and it's another lazy Sunday in our house. I've done my walk and my shower so not much of consequence on the horizon for today. I am grateful and relieved to report that two major medical tests came back with normal results this week. I choose to believe that my diligence has turned what might have been a progressive situation back to normal.
Hope MCat is enjoying the home visit. Frieda, may this be a peaceful, easy feelin' kind of day for you. Linda, glad the rooster went where he was wanted. T, Enjoy the DS visit. Shari, it seems like you are making good progress on packing but I totally understand all the bits and pieces to be sorted. You'll thank yourself for doing it now rather than at the other end. You may remember that our garage was unavailable for 15 years until DH and I finally got rid of all the detritus from combining households. Martha, I always love your spring pictures. So far we have redbud, bradford pear and some of the fruit trees blooming. Cacti and succulents are also starting to show off. Trees have leaves and I've had one iris bloom already. We are having a couple of idiosyncratic cooler days but then I expect spring to officially take off.
Last week was SXSW.edu then Interactive but the musicians are starting to arrive so downtown will be turned over to them for the next several days. I barely even know it's going on in my little neighborhood.
How is everyone doing with putting the skid on rising numbers? Remember to exercise your "no" muscles like T and Martha expressed. You can do this!
I'm getting busier and busier but I'll try to check in as often as I can and I do try to read the posts every day even when I don't make it all the way to the compose box.

Hi. I have weigh in tomorrow and just had a bunch of bbq potato chips. They will not be purchased again. I cannot resist the lure of salt and crunch. Anyhow, what is left of the bag has been thrown out. I suppose some soup and fruit will make up the rest of my day. I've been doing pretty good Anne to stop the slide. How? by tracking everything.
I'm NOT picking up lovely shabby chic pieces. I'm picking up the very best of Grandma's old junk from the basement that has been donated because she is no longer with us. It is 1960 rec room furniture at it's best, and I don't mean that in a hip, Mad Men sort of way.
That's about it

I'm soooooo ready for spring. The daffodil blossoms and flowers are helping me a lot. Haven't downloaded most current pictures yet from camera. T - Good job on eating while driving/on the road. It's hard, even when have snacks already in the car. Keep your water bottle very close by. I am sure your DGF and family are enjoying themselves. I don't think it's immoral to love appliances, especially ones that keep us sane. Anne - Awesome news on the medical front! It's a lazy day here for me too. Frieda - Hope you drank lots of water after the chips. You have been doing good with the healthier foods. Hope that you are able to pick pieces that have good memories for you. Slept in this morning so bfast was actually brunch. Sausage Egg Squares from Light & Tasty issue from 2003. Dinner tonight is Shrimp Paella with brown rice from Cooking Light March 2017 issue. Finished baking triple chocolate cookies for DH. Made a second batch of DIY Kind bars. Will check soon to see how the changes went. Watched Nascar race that was at Vegas. One of my drivers won the race. WooHoo to Martin Truex, Jr. Last night talked with my cousins for an hour or so. One lives here and her sister lives in Southern Oregon. Didn't realize she was here until late afternoon. They were out & about doing errands. Almost time to head back to the kitchen to fix dinner. HUGS~ martha
