This thread was started before the dawn of time by Amazons who needed to compare their stats with other Amazons. Over time it grew into a community of incredible women who try to keep their spirits in the clouds and their feet on the ground, moving toward health. Most of us start at 5'7 and go up from there, from young singles to wise and lively elders of the tribe. We welcome newcomers who are willing to be kind and share a bit of their lives.

Aloha, Long and Lovelies!
Home, Sweet Home, to answer T's question. This was the visit to the DParent's where I realized that my home is now home, and they are the second home.
The good news: DMom's surgery went well. They removed the tumor, took a small part of her stomach - she got a free partial gastric bypass! ha ha. We still have to wait for the biopsy results, but so far, so good. The not-so-good news: they have to keep monitoring mom for a recurrence (standard stuff); if there is a recurrence in her stomach, they could remove the tumor, but there is no more stomach to remove. That freaked mom out. The doctor subsequently calmed her down, but now it's out there. It would freak me out too......DMom went home yesterday; I'm going to call today, to see how everyone is doing.
I spent some great time with DDad, DBro, and cute little DNiece. Cooked Dad some food, since he eats so horribly on his own. Made sure he stayed hydrated.
The weird piece for me, was the atmosphere for things. I understood the nervous anticipation the night of and the day of surgery, but overall, folks are just kind of negative. I spent a lot of time trying to cheer people up, keep things on the brighter/lighter side of things. Mom and Dad are going down to Hilton Head In July - it will be good for them to get away. They need a break.
Visit with DH's DDad has been fun. Everyone just gets along so well; it is so fun.
Oh! DS is going to be playing the trombone! His excitement was absolutely priceless.
I decided that my answer is "no," when it comes to the lawsuit. No extra anything, no changes. There is no need - he is throwing a hissy fit. And I have that in writing.
Lynne, sending you strength. I hope you figure out the $$ issues. It's so hard.
T, safe travel vibes. It's easy to slide when you travel; bravo you for staying strong.
Shari, DMick always looks so handsome. Sounds like DMom is still doing well and packing is progressing?
Martha, you are tracking and moving on, after the WI, right?
Gosh, I know there is more, but I have a ton to catch up with, for work. I will try to check back later. Hugs!!!!

Recovering from time change. Had tentative plans that have been changed to later this week. Yes, I have moved on from Saturday's weigh in. I've been measuring (with the real thing, not eyeballed!) and tracking. Will be making some healthy snacks for the week a bit later. I stepped on the scale this morning and it was smiling. And of course, so was I. It's raining pitchforks & hammer handles. Cats & Dogs. HUGS~

Martha, I hate that the scale has that power over our moods. Don't get me wrong--I am the exact same way. Do what I suggested. Track, eat weeklies and stay minimum TH and FR for a spectacular weigh in Saturday!
I lost 1.4 this week. I will take it. If I lost that much every week, well, it wouldn't take that long to get to goal! I bought some dried apple chips to substitute for my crunch, and guess what? It's 6sp's for 1/2 cup. I better learn to scan before I eat not after.
Mcat: Glad the weekend went well. I'm sure they miss their missy.
I'm out.
