Way to go, Joe! In politics things change quickly, and Biden got a really big bump in SC. Will it be enough? Now that Steyer has dropped out, I hope he puts his money behind someone who can win which most likely is Biden. If anyone was watching MSNBC last night you probably heard a lot of speculation that with Biden's big victory in SC that Bloomberg might decide to drop out and back Biden. I wonder how much, if any, truth there is to that. Per Rachel and others Bloomberg decided to get in so late because it looked like Biden couldn't win, so now that Biden has some momentum going Bloomberg may take a second look. We'll see soon I suppose whether or not that happens.
I know that at the convention if a candidate withdraws they can give their delegates to another candidate. If a candidate withdraws at this point, can they do that or do they have to wait for the convention?

Tom Steyer(?) has stepped out. Honestly other than the first debate where he made no impression at all, I hadn't really thought about him at all until the last 2 weeks since his commercials have been playing non-stop here in the "Houston tv market". Oddly, since he said he's out of the race, I've seen 7 of his commercials this morning!

DotRen, guess those commercials were already paid for. If Bloomberg would put his money behind Joe that would be great. I keep hearing that Joe has hardly any organization on the ground in any of the Super Tuesday states, so he could really use the $.

NYT says Pete is dropping out. That's for the best, but I really like him. I think we'll see big things from him in the future.

nashville11, me, too. I like his temperment better than any of the others. But I don't think he has a chance this go-round

I agree. I'm so glad he got out before Super Tuesday. It was the right thing to do. Getting out graciously now when it really counts, will go a long way in the goodwill department for any future run. I wouldn't be surprised if he endorsed Biden soon.

I agree that he's not getting out unless he does really poorly tomorrow, which I am not expecting him to do. He has spent a ton of money on Super Tuesday. Lots of ads for him here. He was interviewed on 60 Minutes last night, and he sounded good. He didn't say anything that I could not agree with. Still I'm going to vote tomorrow for Biden, as he's a known quantity, and I trust him. My heart wants to vote for Amy, but she has absolutely no chance, and so while I had originally planned to vote for her I'm going to cast my vote where I think it will do the most good. I'm not sure how well Biden will do. A lot of people have voted early. My DD was one. She voted for Pete, and now wishes she'd voted for Biden. I have another friend here in TN who voted early for Amy, and now wishes she had voted for Biden. Bloomberg is all over the air waves, and we're not seeing much of Biden because he simply hasn't had the money for ads. That can make a major difference. Also some people who did not like Obama won't vote for Biden, but may vote for Bloomberg because they are not happy with what they've seen from the JA. My primary vote is really the only vote I have that means anything as long as the Electoral College is in place, and that's not going to leave us anytime soon. So I want it to count. Biden may not win, but he has a far better chance than Amy.

Yes, I really regret my early vote via absentee ballot. I voted for Amy as did DH.

I wish that every state had primaries and that they were all held on one day just like the general election is. Maybe pick a day in June, and say that's when everybody votes in the primaries. We could still have early voting a week or so before. Let them campaign in every state. As it is now, Iowa and New Hampshire carry far more weight than they should, and then states that don't hold their primaries until late in the season really get short changed. I expect the reasoning in holding them so scattered out is that candidates don't have to spend so much money in the beginning and by the time they build some momentum they have more contributions and money to spend. That's not worked out very well this time around. The whole system, IMHO, needs an overhaul. I'd start that by doing away with the Electoral College which is totally outdated, but getting a constitutional amendment to do that is pretty much next to impossible. We can't even get the ERA ratified. We're close but not there yet, and look how long that has taken.

Just checking in to say HI...:-) I really don't have much to add to the conversation. Pretty much feel the way the rest of you do. Guess, that's why this is my "go to place for sanity"...LOL You & the thread keeps me grounded. :-)

I guess if there is no delegate majority by the time the conventions rolls around perhaps Amy will have a few delegates she can throw to the remaining moderate, whoever that may be. So my primary vote won't be totally in vain.
