This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it

Good afternoon! Hard to believe it is March already
wwlurker, I can totally understand wanting to lose weight, but not sure what plan. I wrote the WW Coach on their website and she said "well you are here, so you must want to lost weight" I think I said something about not caring.
Waving to all. I need to catch up and check in here more often.

Good morning! JD has a cold so he's probably home today (mild fever, cough, stuffy nose, general cold season stuff - but any fever means he can't be at work - licensing rules). He's had it since Thursday, so he should start to feel better today or tomorrow. Knock on wood, so far neither me or Ron have gotten sick. My allergies are like "nah, we've got this" lol. Tree pollen is off the charts here.
Other than that, beautiful weather here on the Texas coast and things are generally going well!

Waving to all
Dentist, grocery shopping and trying to plan my food for the day will be on the agenda ;-)

They're both feeling a lot better today. Rons cough broke up so he slept better last night. One of the guys he works with just got back from a cruise, so they're keeping an eye on him just in case. I can't even imagine going on a floating (or flying) petri dish right now.

Hey everyone! DotRen, So glad they're feeling better. And funny you should mention cruising because we're supposed to go in two weeks... we're still trying to figure out what to do. sunrose49, Great job on meeting your step goal! cj59, Good to see you! How's your March going? I'm really improving on my healthy habits this month, so I'm giving the scale a break for now. It was getting disheartening and I'm doing the Beck review again, so I said, "Hey, no more weighing until week 3." I have been drinking A LOT of water, so much water, I didn't know how good it felt to drink all that water. And I'm eating A LOT of fruit and veggies. Yum! The Fitbit is on charge and I'm going to actually start wearing it again. No excuses. I'm starting to want it more. I'm starting to want losing weight so bad that I can practically taste the salad. It's close. Fiercely close. I hope you all had a great weekend! See you soon!

irisinnia, I'm not sure I'd go on a cruise right now, just because there's so much uncertainty! One of the men my husband works with just got back from a cruise and he said the last few days everyone was so tense it was not fun. And of course now all his co-workers are watching him very closely. Nice work on the healthy habits sunrose49, cj59, hope you're well

Waving to all
Got in a small walk with Maddie this morning. It is going to be a lovely day. Will walk again and later.

Just popping in to say I hope you're all well. Lots of anxiety with the Covid-19, spring break and general nerves! We won't be going to the farmers market this weekend, and I'm using curbside pickup for groceries. No cases locally, but no hand sanitizer or wipes either to be had.
I decided to try making a sourdough starter, using the method for "wild yeast" off the King Arthur web site. I know sourdough is supposed to be better for gut health and the stuff you buy in the stores is "dead". I've seen recipes that use yogurt (similar to 2 ingredient dough) but as the fermentation agent for it, you make the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 12-18 hours to get the yogurt cultures to do their thing and ferment.

DotRen, The 'good' news is our cruise cancelled but now we have to rebook it and I have no idea when this mess will be over. Sorry to hear that your husband's coworker had such a hard time on his cruise. I'd love to make sourdough. Let me know how it goes! sunrose49, Great job on the walk and I'm so glad you have beautiful weather. It's raining here, but it never rains so we're all pretty excited. We dig in the closets to find umbrellas and realize half of them are broken because we knew they were broken but decided to get a new one the next time it rains... vicious cycle. *Waves to everyone else* Well, coronavirus cancelled everything in my neck of the woods today. The cruise, my daughter's dance festival, and my mother and I had tickets to Whose Live? (Whose Line is it Anyway? Live) for tomorrow! Yup, one day away. Schools are still going because they're trying to hold out until Spring Break after next week, but we shall see! I exercised two days in a row! But then my muscles were sore. I don't like sore muscles. Stay safe and healthy everyone! Hope to hear from you all soon!

irisinnia , sorry your stuff got cancelled. They've pretty much cancelled all schools until the end of the month here, or extended spring break to cover it. I'm using the method for the sourdough starter from king arthur flour and it's pretty straight forward. I am using all 100% whole wheat flour though. I started it Wednesday and 'fed' it yesterday morning. It's in a quart mason jar in my oven (no drafts, consistent temperature) and last night I looked and it was all bubbly, so it seems to be working. I'm supposed to start feeding it 2x a day today.

DotRen, Oh no, it's good it cancelled. I feel better with all the craziness going on having the kids at home even though they're a little sad about their extra curricular activities. And I was very worried about taking two little kids on a cruise that might quarantine. If it was me and DH, we'd probably go because we're risk takers/ thrill seekers, but with little kids? No thank you! It was a Disney cruise and they gave us 125% of our purchase price toward our next cruise, so it looks like we're booking in the October/November time frame and probably a room upgrade! So I think it all turned out for the best. I am totally going to make that sourdough. I've been wanting to try it forever and it's DH's favorite kind of bread, so thank you so much! Regarding weight loss, I feel like I am not seeing results even though I'm putting in work. I'm not super disheartened yet but I wish this was easier!! Back to work! See you all later!
