Phyl- glad you will be getting back to normal and getting your machine back in its rightful place. Its good to hear that you are feeling better, and have taken good care of yourself to get rid of this virus. Its very sad that to hear the news about your friend Bill- and should you visit or contact him , I am sure it will be an emotional and difficult goodbye. Bless you and Don as you face saying farewell to your friend.
Ruth, the hairy is a larger bird than a downy woodpecker, and the hairy has a longer (much longer) beak. Of course if you do not see them close up, its going to be hard to tell the difference. We get both here and on rare occasions get both at the same time so a comparison is easy. They do look an awful lot alike. Yes it sure will be neat to see what birds you get in Indiana!! Something nice to look forward to.
I clipped some threads on the quilt top last night and contacted the long armer to see how well I have to prepare a quilt top for the process. Looking forward to hearing back from her.

A GOOD MONDAY MORNING, I do not know if we can go see Bill. The VA won't tell me if he is still a patient. The operator when I gave his name said there he is. then talking to the charge nurse she said I would have to talk to his dd.
to me that means he is close to going to our Lord. have heard this a few times in my life when the person is close or they will say resting comfortably.
upsets me that we did not think of going this weekend.
I guess between colds, viruses and life we just did not think about maybe it was not meany to be. I have been a nurse aid so know what to expect to how Bill or another person might look when they are dying. Don would not.
so I will take my shower, go clean the sewing room and wait for Jeana to call or email me. Jeana and Tonya are friends so she will get a hold of TONYA.
Jeana and Bill's ds were buddies growing up. talk about 2 kids that could go out the back door and get into trouble those were2 kids.
I watched their two girls. they had lived across the street.
BILL'S first wife left him( she cheated) and Bill remarried. after some years another divorce. then it seem like life went down hill for him.infections, brain surgery, being in VIET NAM really did a numeebr on him also. sure hope our LORD has a place for him in heaven.phyl

Phyl, due to these HIPPA laws sometimes they are not allowed to give ANY info on the phone and/or are required to say that people cannot visit when in acuality, if you show up they allow a visit.

Hello Crafters Ginny - Hope you can get your quilt top ready to take to the longarm quilter. Phyl - I hope that you will be able to see your dear friend Bill. Ruth - Hope the weather is better there. Meg and Sue - Hope you are well. It is cloudy here today, but mild. Looks like temps will stay mild this week. I'm just not in a hurry for it to be hot again, so I need to enjoy these temps while we have them I drew lines on some of my small fabric squares this morning for the bowtie blocks. These are the squares that I have to sew into the corners of the larger blocks and then trim them. Hopefully I'll get to some sewing soon. I saw where one of the local quilt shops I go to is expanding and will be setting up some longarm quilting machines for classes and renting. This is the shop I took a class from a few years ago, and they have moved since then. I need to take a refresher class and then maybe I can get in there and quilt some of my quilt tops. I sure would like to make some of them into actual quilts at some point I'm also hoping that I can get out and buy a few boxes so I can pack up some more things for my siblings and get them mailed out. I'm hoping this is the last mailing I'll have to do for awhile. It's not that it's difficult to do it, it's just irritating getting the boxes and then getting to a good place to mail them. I was hoping I was done the last time, since it bugs me having this on my mind to take care of. Take care everyone! ETA: I can't believe how many times I used the word "hope" or "hopefully" in this post

hi, I do understand the laws. I know she was doing her job. I think the part of talked to her dd is what got me.
that has been told to us at times when we have stopped to visit some one and the next day they are gone.
Bill was very hard to understand he did know us.his breathing is labored. he gasps at times. also is having tremors.can't control his arms. holds his head at times like bad headache or miserable..
won't let you help with putting on is oxygen hose or even the nurse aid could not do it,. still trying to be independent.
he die ask us to come back when he is in a better mood.
dd told Jeana he has had alot of company the the last 3 days. so he is probably really tried out.
Bill says he does not sleep. feeling this way must make days and nights really long..I hope and pray the Lord will come soon.
WE did look up the small quilt shop there.not much of a shop. Don even said it was not worth looking up.lol. Don doesn't say to much about quilt shops.phyl

Phyl- so very glad that you got to see Bill despite all the possible red tape. And for his sake, I hope this time passes quickly so that he does not suffer. I pray that he is being kept comfortable.
CJ-you sure have done your share of packing and mailing your dads belongings to your siblings and I do not blame you one bit for wanting a break from that. I hope that your efforts are appreciated that is all. And yes, Many times i check my post and try to eliminate over usage of some words. Cannot say I am successful all the time however. And yes, you should get to that quilt shop and get back into long arming. Is the new location better for you to get to?
Ruth, how is your day going??
Sue, I know you said you would only be checking in once in awhile, just wanted you to know we are thinking about you.
Vacuumed today, and got a walk in with my friend. Got some phone calls made too, and yes the password list Dh left me worked. That is a relief. Got DGD tomorrow- and Ds will be home to help with her. Think I am going to go read awhile and relax. Honestly, I am not used to this much time resting or not crazy busy doing stuff. Ginny

Funny how we can wake up sometimes like that and not be able to get back to sleep. I almost had that happen last night...thankfully I put on a boring TV show and got a bit more rest. Glad they are trying to keep Bill comfortable. Stubborn people can be great patients cause they have lots of fight to them- but also difficult if they resist treatment. Will continue to pray. Hope you can get the machine set up Phyl- bet it will be nice to have your old friend back.
So I put DGD in for her nap- and she wanted a pillow in the crib. I gave her the first butterfly pillowcase pillow....she liked the butterflies on it- made her (and me) smile! Good to have her here and her sunny/silly personality. Ginny

It was a cloudy day here earlier, then sunny, and now rain - but the temps have been mild. I did things around the house today and didn't get to work on my quilt blocks yet. Take care everyone!

ok, this is the second time I've tried this so let's see what happens It's great to see you all and I'm thinking of Meg and Sue also It was a nice day today and it's supposed to be up to 55 on the weekend. My kind of weather. Too bad it won't stay like this. Horrible thing about that tornado in Tenn. Phyl, I hope you and Don will be able to see Bill more before he leaves us. Stubbornness can be a good thing or a bad thing CJ, well you got things done even if it wasn't the quilt blocks and you posted here so that's crafting. Ginny, I bet that little ray of sunshine..your dear baby grandaughter, brightened your day. I got all the pieces for the dog hat done. Now just to put them together and I'll probably get all the pieces done yet this evening for whatever that other thing is that dgd asked me to make. I got another request today. DDil sent me a link to a video that my 8 year old dgd wanted her to send so I'm guessing she wants me to make it for her. DDil said that dgd is sending me a letter talking about the hat and wanted me to know what hat she was talking about. I'll know for sure when I get the letter if she wants me to make it(I imagine she does or she wouldn't have had her mother send the video) and see if she has any special requests about color, etc.

Good morning! I meant to get here last night but then Dd#2 called and I was on the phone with her for about an hour. She is at least talking about how losing Dh is impacting her, which is good. And we are making some plans for the future- nothing big, but something to do on a day when she has no school.
Ruth, I do love how your grandkids ask for special projects from you- they know how much you love to create for them and are so gifted with a crochet hook. Were you able to get the dog hat put together last night? Bet that is adorable.
CJ- I hope you are able to get to work on the quilt blocks, if that is what you want to do today. Ah, the joys of retirement! For this months block- I remember teal is the color. How did you manage to get the blocks done, if I remember correctly you did not have any teal fabric in your house.
Had fun with Dgd- she is such a silly little girl but was very good. Think it was good for both Ds and me to see her. Ds returns to work today- I hope he is ok handling the stress of losing his dad while dealing with the difficult personalities he sees at work.
Got some financial stuff to take care of this am and want to head to the store. That corona virus is not too far from where I am and I want to make sure I have adequate supplies. Most of what I need I think I have already....and I do want to catch this weeks specials.

Hello Crafters Ginny - I did find 6 different aqua fabrics to use for this month's blocks. I have everything ready to piece, just need to get them done. I'm glad to hear your children are doing alright, we all know how difficult it is to lose our parents, so I'm glad you all have each other to get through this. Ruth - I'm glad to hear that you are having nice weather. It's really neat how your DG children enjoy the crochet items you make for them. The weather here is nice - sunny and around 60. We had some strong winds last night, I guess it's those March winds. I see some trees starting to bloom too. I went out earlier to pick up some groceries and get another box so I can mail out those things to my siblings. We don't have the virus confirmed in our area yet so people aren't getting too "crazy" about it. I have enough food that I could go several weeks without going to store, if necessary. But I'm careful to wash my hands after I come home and hopefully the spreading of this virus will end soon with the warmer weather coming. Hope you all get to do some crafting today. Take care!

afternoon ladies, the upstairs is cleaned. I washed lot of stuff down with Clorox soap and water.then used wipes on things.
none of us probably have thought about this one. on world news tonight (last night) David Muir was talking to a doctor and she said to even use wipes on our cell phones. because we hold them so close to our face.
course we sit our phones down anywhere .never know who might touch them or left some germs in that spot.
tomorrow I will work on the basement playpen and family room. may not get it done. do want to go to the place for the unwind class on the 14th.
want to see what her take is on the background color to got with my jelly roll I have for the class. gray, white, beige or something clear out of the blue sky? always Friday if we don't go tomorrow. phyl
