Okay going to post them again then you let me know where you are getting stuck. 1. Copy the URL of the link you want to paste here. 2. Click "Reply" at the top right (in gold) of the box you type in ( not "post quick reply" at the bottom.) 3. Click the "globe" on the bottom row of stuff at the top. 4. Delete the stuff that is in the box and just paste the information on both lines. 5. Hit the bottom button "create link". A couple of things that may help. If you look at the box you type in you will see it says "Quick Reply" at the top of it, over to the far right of that in GOLD it says "Reply" that is the button I am talking about in step #2. Just click it and you will see the globe I am talking about in step #3. Just tell me the # of the step you are getting stuck at and I will walk you through it mac ๐ Also, look for my name at the top of the data entry box where it says "Simple Tagging" if you click on that it will put my name here with an @ in front of it (with no space) and I will be notified the next time I sign on that you have a question/comment for me ๐

Deb,
Step #1, What is the URL, is it the website address, if so, where do I put it?
Can I practice here so it can be erased?
TIA

mac, the url is the website address. Should start with http. Once you've copied that follow @debdoeswws instructions. You may try it here.

Itsrad
Do you have to copy the website address by hand?
Where on pro boards do you copy it?
TIA

mac , what kind of device are you using? Usually you can find what website you are on by looking at the very top of your device in the center. (For example the top here says โwwmessageboard.freeforums.netโ) If you hold your finger on it, the word โcopyโ should pop up. Click that. To โpasteโ on this site use steps 2-5 above ^ To get started look for the word โReplyโ at the top right of the box where you input text (in the gold highlighted box) it will all make sense once you click that, not sure how else to explain it :/

Itsrad Do you have to copy the website address by hand? Where on pro boards do you copy it? TIA on my computer I right click and a box pops up that says: copy, paste, etc...
click copy
go to the place (globe thing?) and right click and it will say paste...click on paste
That said...I have never copied an article but would do this for an image and I don't put anything in the bottom section...never knew what to put there.

cathygeha thank you for trying to help out ๐ Out of curiosity, the "Reply" box down below is the button in gold on your computer? Maybe she is getting lost because she can't find the "Reply" part.

DebDoesWW,
Yes, yes, yes, I could not find that reply button, thought it was on top!
This is going to take a while to figure out, I switched to my tablet not my phone which is easier.
Thanks!

DebDoesWW, Good Friday Morning DebDoesWW, It's me again with Questions. ๐ Step 1 I take it you copy website on website you want to post.. I can copy the URL but it also says paste, do I hit that button as well or wait until step 4? Step 2 I know how to do that. Step 3 I found the globe finally. The reason I couldn't do some of this is because my phone doesn't show the line with the globe but my tablet does. Step 4 I can delete stuff in both boxes but can't find paste on this step?? My computer said paste way back on step one? Step 5 I can do step 5. My youngest son has a BS degree in computers, he sent me a link with a tutorial on this. He will be proud of me when I can do this website thing. He taught me what I know about computers. TIA Have a gr8 week-end! Mac

mac, you are making progress woohoo!! Copying and pasting is just what they say if you think about it in non-computer terms. First you want a "copy" of the website address to "paste" it here so we can go where you want us to go. 1) wait til step 4 4) it will say paste if you either right click the button, hold your finger down (this is probably what you need to do if you are using a tablet, just hold your finger on the line and the word paste should appear) or do whatever it takes with your device to bring back the copy, cut, paste options ๐ (you can actually Google "how to copy and paste -insert your device-") but it is usually either a right click on a mouse or holding your finger down on what/where you want to copy/paste.

Also as far as the phone version goes, you can go to the very bottom of this page and it will say "desktop"
On the tablet it says "switch to mobile version"
You can switch back and forth using this button. I prefer the desktop version on my phone since it has all the stuff I prefer using and I am more familiar with it.
