GOOD MORNING CRAFTERS,
sometime today I will be in my playpen doing masks.need to get the ones for the KY family done and sent.
SEEMS like I sew just for a little bit and then get lazy and do nothing. I could have had my masks, project, decluttering done these past few weeks.talked to my friend Peggy awhile ago and she is going through the same thing.
she also agreed with me because of the Diabetes and bone marrow disease I should not GO to the guild meeting on the 25th.. I am to bring treats.I can't seem to get that through NITA's head.
we meet across the river in MN. our town and that town has not had to much of a problem with the CV. some of the girls come from other towns. one will come from Winona,MN and they have had problems.that is 30 miles from here.
how do you distance 60-65 members?
glad everybody here is doing some crafting.had coffee with my neighbor 6 feet apart on her deck. she ordered elastic and can't remember if she got 1/4 or 1/8th. but got oppisite of what she ordered..
this is what she told me the 1/8th works better for people wearing glasses and hearing aids. I know on the boughten ones Don and I have trouble with our aids wanting to come out.
well guess I better get going with my day. phyl

I can't believe how fast this week has zoomed by.
Ginny, I went to that site. It says the info I entered does not match their records.
Phyl, that's another reason I like the tie ones better...because of hearing aids. I can't hear much better using them though so most of the time I don't bother even putting them in.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today It's a pretty sunny, mild day here, nice after all the rain we've had. The blogger running the Rainbow Scrap Challenge posted that the color for May is dark green. I was able to find 4 different dark green fabrics, and I pressed and cut them this morning so they are ready to sew into blocks. I found two lighter color fabrics - one green and one aqua that I'm going to use for the hourglass blocks I'm making each month. I wanted that quilt to be softer/lighter colors so the dark green didn't work for me. I wondered why she was using dark greens and dark blues as well as light greens and light blues for different months, but when I looked at the color wheel there really aren't enough different colors for a year. We'll still have pink, red, purple and yellow and some neutrals if she uses them. I may not do the neutral colors. Once I get these blocks together I'll go back to the quilt pattern kit I've been talking about and start working on it. Take care everyone!

I think I'm going to need to turn on the sprinklers. This is going to be a warm week after tomorrow. Usually June 1. The sprinkler guy is going to have to come do a few repairs. I want him to mark some of the sprinklers in the back. Lots of projects! All of them need to be down by someone else!
The driveways need resurfacing. It would be great if I can have my path in one section of the backyard ready to surface at the same time. There's some minor work for an electrician. The dumbwaiter is important. Cutting down the trees close to the house are important. I think I'll try to do the area with the path in the backyard slowly. There is a lot that can be composted. Leaves, grass, ground up branches. I'm going to count the trees and shrubs this week. I'll ride around on the lawn tractor!
I watched/listened to TV last night and got in several hours of crochet time. I'm working on an in between project. The yarn is sport weight, and has an overall tweedy appearance shifting between pink, lavender and gray. The ball of yarn feels good, but the neck scarf doesn't feel soft at all. I'm about 1/3 finished. It looks good.

Phyl, I think you're very smart to stay away from that huge gathering of people. I would think that in a crowd of the size you mentioned that even if everyone wore masks that the small amount of bacteria and virus that can get throught them would add up and be a danger.
Sue, sounds like your house needs as much work as mine. And if the scarf isn't soft maybe you need to use a larger hook.
I got a hat done yesterday and one again today so now it's back to the baby blanket while I wait to find what my youngest grandaughter's favorite colors are. She's 8 so I'm sure she changes her mind a bit. The other girls did and probably still do.My son's oldest daughter graduates from HS this year and had planned on going to college but she couldn't go for the interview due to the virus so I don't know what will happen there. I was going to make her a blanket to take there with her as the school is in another state so she'll be living in a dorm.
I actually have two grandaughter's graduating this year. The one in Indiana is home schooled. The one here goes to a public school and schools here are closed for this semester so don't know if they're going to have some kind of virual graduation ceremony or not. All I know is this is going to cost me money but I don't mind. I'm just glad they stayed in school. Actually the one that lives here took a year off then went back to finish. The one that lives here also got her own stimulus check by filing under the portion of the IRS site that's for those that haven't filed a tax return in the last two years. She's never worked or if she did she never needed to file. She's 19 and here I sit still not knowing where ours is.

Sue, my driveway needs resurfacing also....houses are a lot of work. Little by little it gets done. I like the sound of the tweed yarn you are working with- it sounds so pretty.
CJ- you will make lovely substitutions on the fabric colors....of course you do not want to buy more fabric and I do not blame you. Enjoy the mild weather, think we have one more day of it.
Ruth, so sorry that the web site does not seem to match your information. Think I had to use Dh’s ss# and not mine....they liked that better. I would not try to call the IRS, I am sure you would spend a week on hold and still not speak to an intelligent person.
Phyl- don’t go to guild. Nita will just have to deal with your decision.
Dd#2 was here a lot today. Nice weather, and great weather to air out the house. Ds got stuck for another double shift and will be home late......
Cannot believe tomorrow is Sunday. Ginny

Dang Hobby Lobby.....went out of stock on the yarn I need. I will have to see when/if stores ever open here, and keep track of their web site. Guess I should have ordered it earlier in the week when they said they did have stock.

Ginny, I'm sorry to hear that you are running out of the yarn you need and it's now out of stock. Even though I bought a bunch when HL had yarn on clearance I don't have any like that I don't think. I remember you saying what the name of it was. The only baby yarn I have is called bunch of dots ...don't know why it's called that since it has no dots.
I did do some work on the baby blanket last evening. I'm still waiting to hear what youngest dgd's favorite colors are. I don't know if the kids are home from our property or not. Ds took the kids out there to fish and ddil is the one I asked about favorite colors so she's probably waiting until they get home and will ask her then.

I will keep on trying and hope that they restock in the next few weeks, or perhaps even get into the store....but I doubt that is likely that I will get into the store until mid June.
Nice that your son is visiting the property. Hope that they got lots of fishing time in and catch lots of fish! That might inspire Dh to want to go visit the property when it is safe to do so. Glad you got some work done on the baby blanket. And I hope you do find out what your youngest DGD’s favorite color is!!
