Trump and the organized hate groups that he considers allies have emboldened these jerkoffs and are making things worse. They are predators. Waiting for these kind of things to occur so they can destroy good intentions. They live for this. They turn a peaceful protest into a riot. Since when does breaking store windows and looting have anything to do with grief and mourning? My heart goes out to the family of the murder victim. My anger goes out to the trouble makers, looters, and obnoxious angry cops turning a memorial into a war zone. We are a despicable species and we aren't even ashamed. A man was murdered in broad daylight by an out of control cop while other cops sat and watched him get killed. He begged for mercy and got none. The whole damn world saw it. How would you feel if the victim was a friend or relative of yours? Would you feel comforted by all the people who gathered to protest this violent crime and mourn your loss? Or, would you feel good seeing cops bashing people with their weapons and looters robbing stores? Evil doers love this stuff. It never fails. No good deed goes unpunished. The road to Hell really is paved with good intentions.

Just popping in to say HI...Also, wanted to say how impressed I am with Val Demings from FL. She was on the FL police force for 27 years, was Orlando Police Chief for awhile & now is serving in Congress House of Rep. I read where she was being considered for VP amongst many others. Right now, she is my favorite pick for VP. I think Biden couldn't go wrong with her by his side. I have heard her on various other subjects before & she just comes across so spot on & sensible. She even reprimanded Biden in the way it should have been done a few weeks ago when he made that comment about voting & being black. Which by the way he did apologize for. I just think she would be an excellent choice. JMHO...:-) I'm going to see what I can find about Val Demings. I'm not familiar with her, but she sounds like someone I need to become familiar with.

lani, Holly Gail, nashville11, finreporter, luanne, amyrs, birdgal,@lka48, I've been very impressed with Val Demings. Amy - sounds like you have a sensible plan for your future and also TV! Good for you. Dotrens - happy anniversary. Nashville11 - congrats to you both, too! I need a break from the news cycle. I am worried that this will be a tough summer with more riots, possibly brought on by COVID and the disparities in higher death rate among minorities, lack of health care for all, the summer heat, and of course, so many unemployed and hopeless. Traffic was blocked in both directions by crowds of demonstrators on our major interstate this morning.

The demented trump supporters carrying signs with "Anti news" need a spelling lesson.
They hate CNN because CNN reports the truth. Their signs need to have "Anti truth" instead. That's what they're about. Lies, deceit, and plain old stupid. Just like their demented leader, trump.
Hi Connie! Nice to see your smiling face here! 😊

Looked up Val Demings and I recognized her when I saw the photo. For some reason her name was just not ringing a bell with me. Yes, I've heard her speak in segments on TV a few times, and she does seem very impressive. With her law enforcement background in addition to her legislative background she might be a very good choice for VP. While Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar have law experience, that experience doesn't include having been on the street in law enforcement. Val Demings would offer that, and could most likely provide really good counsel to Biden. There is a huge racial divide in our country right now, and it has been poked and prodded and had flames thrown at it by tRump from the day he declared his candidacy.

I still want to know when being anti-Facist became a "bad" thing?

I don't think I can take 4 more years of this gross, incompetent, idiot in the WH.
I know I've said this a million times but I no longer believe in fair and honest elections. All things can be bought.
Would anybody care to convince me how wrong I am? Please.

conniefromct, I live in SW Connecticut and heard on the police scanner this morning that about a 1,000 demonstrators were at Exit 23 of I-84. Is that what you are talking about? nashville11, Amy Klobuchar might have a problem. When Chauvin shot someone she declined to prosecute him. You might be interested in Roxane Gay's op-ed piece in the New York Times this morning. You should be able to read it. They let you a few articles a month for free. www.nytimes.com/2020/05/30/opinion/sunday/trump-george-floyd-coronavirus.html

MLK Jr’s daughter tweeted that although many are invoking his name these days to not forget that he was actually voted the most hated man in America in a 1967 national poll. That many speaking his name and quoting him today to condemn the violence would have been one of his haters back then. She said clearly he was hated. He did get assassinated after all.
This whole thing could have been prevented by people not treating black people so shitty. People who think so highly of their own white skin and condemn blacks for their skin color are usually the most disgusting of all.

bbbearsmom, yes, I think you are right that Klobuchar might have a problem. I thought of that as soon as this happened with George Floyd in Minneapolis. I like her a lot, but I don't think her chances are looking very good. I just hope Biden will choose wisely, and I think he will. There are a multitude of possibilities out there. One thing the Democrats have is a wealth of real talent. Someone like Val Demings might be exactly the right choice.

I like the "No justice - no peace" sign. It really is that simple. Why can't we get that?

Many videos out there and personal recounts of people saying and showing that the police and National guard are sometimes starting the violence. This is a sham and its orchestrated to make certain people look like they are the crazy ones for protesting. This is our of control. The 1921 Tulsa massacre had crazy protestors. All white. Killing black people randomly. Axing and burning their homes and belongings. Yet peaceful protest gets turned violent. And started by whom. Law enforcement and some people being paid to incite. Those looting are also in the wrong but it’s not even about them. This is clearly much bigger and intended to create more chaos by the powers that be. I’m sickened.

Amyrs, I like your new picture. You look good!
Fin, I agree about those being paid to incite. You can almost pick them out. Like the white jerk sticking his ugly face in the CNN camera. If anybody thinks he was there as a peaceful protester, that bridge is still available. 😊
