This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Welcome to the May thread April sure seemed to go by fast, even though in some ways it dragged with being home during this virus crisis. I'm hoping that May will be a good month for all of us and that everyone, and your families, will stay healthy. Have a great weekend!

Hi everyone! Just popping in for a quick hello.
I am doing well, still at home with the kids. We are failing miserably at homeschooling/working from home. I am definitely ready to go back to work. I've been going in on the weekends, when DH is home, just to move some things forward as best I can.
On the covid front, my area is doing very well (we consistently have no new cases each day, no deaths, no one currently in hospital anymore), so we are in the process of slowly opening things back up. I am hoping that daycares will be open and I will be back to work by the end of May. Unfortunately, I need childcare in order to work. I can occasionally do a bit from home, but it's not ideal and it's not sustainable.
Health-wise, I have been tracking points using itrackbites (still on the old Momentum, still give myself lots of extra points and usually go over those as well). I'm far from perfect, but I am trying to pay better attention to my health and to foster habits which make me more productive and healthier, mentally and physically. I would love to lose a bunch of weight (like 60 pounds or so, and I would still be considered very overweight by bmi standards), but it's more about feeling on top of things, not a slave to my wants, if that makes sense. I am getting very little exercise, but I feel like that would be the case even if I wasn't stuck at home.
Hope you all are doing well.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today amrys - Good luck with the classes, it's great that you can do them online. wwlurker - It's good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear your area doesn't have a lot of virus cases, hopefully things will be more normal for you soon. Glad that you are surviving working from home and home schooling. I'm sure it's not easy! Sounds like you are working on eating the best you can, that's all any of us can do

Hope everyone is doing well I'm making masks today for JD's co-workers. I have a ton of fabric pieces and they've been loving the ones he's wearing, so he asked me how much trouble it would be to make some extras -none at all, it gives me something to do and the feeling that I'm doing a small part to help (which helps my anxiety a lot).

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well sunrose - Good for you on the jazzercise DotRen - That's nice that you are making the masks for your son's co-workers, I'm sure they appreciate it I've been having some knee pain for a few days so I haven't been able to get my steps in each day. I'm still trying to eat healthy foods each day, along with some junk I know I've said this before but I'm thinking about trying calorie counting again. I know if I lose some weight that my knee will feel better, so I need to stop putting off the inevitable that I have to get back on an eating plan again. Hope I can start that soon. Take care everyone!

Both of the local farmers markets are doing a "drive through" thing this weekend. One is taking preorders, but I saw their price list on the beef/chicken/etc and nope. $20 for a pound of bacon, $18 for an 8oz ribeye, eggs $12-15 a dozen. Everything was easily double what they were before. I know the farmers need to make $$, but they're going to have people not coming back after they're really open normally with those prices.

Hello Everyone - Wishing all of you a Happy Mother's Day - hope it is a good one for you DotRen - I wonder if people are taking advantage of our meat shortage (or at least the one the media talks about)? I sure hope things calm down soon and get somewhat back to normal with our food distribution. Take care everyone!
