The market posted on FB that they were disappointed in the turnout, were pretty snarky about "not supporting local vendors" and several people commented that they'd love to except that the vendors have hiked up their prices so much. A couple of "price gouging is illegal" comments were sprinkled in there, too, so maybe they'll work to correct that next time.

Hey everyone! Just checking in. Homeschooling is an adventure, and I have DH working from home so it's been a hot mess around here. Although we've delegated, because DH is having a hard time staying inside so he gets to do all the necessary shopping. We decided to go out to Target as a family, because it had been awhile since me and the kids got out, and the masks and the lines to get in hit me hard - started crying. But I'm trying not to think about it and just take it day by day. I'm also getting back into some of my routines, like posting! DotRen, That's some crazy drama for a farmers market. I'm sorry that that happened. I know that was a big thing for you. It would've been nice to have some normalcy. cj59, The meat shortage is weird, I haven't noticed it, but they keep talking about it. Sorry to hear about your knee. What app do you use for calorie counting? So, I've been reading my old success handbook from the PointsPlus days and feeling more motivated to lose some weight. I think the line that got my rear in gear was about thinking of the benefits of quitting. I realized there really are none. I've basically 'quit' right now - not tracking, not exercising, not losing, but I still step on the scale, I'm still unhappy, and I still think about it every time I put something 'off plan' in my mouth. So what have I escaped? Nothing. So I got on my iTrackBites app, and I genuinely started fresh. Part of the problem was my head was still in 2013 thinking I'm losing the same pounds from then. But the pounds in front of me are new pounds to shed, not the same. Starting my new journey today with a goal of 1/2 lb this week, via tracking and two days of exercise. Happy Belated Mother's Day! See you all soon!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well DotRen - Hope you can find another farm market with more reasonable prices. irisinnia - Sorry you had a hard time when you went shopping with the family. I think it is particularly difficult for those of us with children and elderly family members. I sure hope things get better soon. Good luck to you, sounds like you have a solid plan to get back on track. I know Points Plus has worked for you and I'm glad you have the ITrackBites app to help. I don't have any app to count calories right now. In the past I've used Fitbit and My Fitness Pal - not sure what I'll use if I try again. Sometimes I do best with pen and paper I think you have a good point about our heads still being in a past weight loss time. I think I could be having that problem too. I need to do something completely different from what I've been doing because even though those programs worked in the past thinking about doing them again just pulls me down because I know I've gained weight back after them. My knees are still bothering me but I've been on them a lot this week, dealing with bugs in one bathroom and other issues outside the house. Hopefully things will calm down and I can rest them and get them back where I can do my walking again. Hope everyone and your family are staying safe and well. Take care and have a good weekend!

Good morning! Taking Murray back to the vet this morning. His skin is still not quite cleared up. Going to see if they can do the thyroid blood test anyway, since thyroid problems can cause skin/hair problems, and he's lost a lot of hair, mainly on his tail, in the last year. They will probably try to talk us into the cytopoint shot but he never scratches himself and the manufacturer said that's all it does is block the protein that sets off the itchiness. So there's really no point in it.
Anyway hope you are all well -stay safe!

Back from the vet. They did a total physical and blood works on him as well as skin scrapings. Won't know anything until Mon or Tues. The total was less than just the thyroid alone and includes the thyroid test, so they went with the more cost effective one (I'm glad!).

Hello Everyone sunrose - It's good to see you post. I'm sure it's nice to take a break from the computer, I need to do that more often too. Hope you can get your virtual meeting set up. DotRen - I hope the Vet can figure out what is going on with Murray and it's nice for him that he isn't scratching. The dog I had that had skin issues would bite herself raw, it was so upsetting. Hope everyone is doing well and staying on track as much as possible. Also hope you and your families are well. Take care everyone and have a good weekend!

I'm looking forward to having an answer to his skin problems, so maybe we can get him a wading pool this summer. We'd decided not to because we were afraid it would irritate his skin or cause infection, so maybe if it's thyroid, medication will help keep it healed so he can enjoy a pool

I am restarting today May 16 with a vegan plan in purple. I pay for online rather than do virtual until the meetings start again. my fit bit is charged. I have not exercised in years. I have an apartment sized treadmill. I will start slowly. I have 13 weeks about till September and want to lose 30 pounds into onederland. In one year I want to weigh 150. That is 80 pounds. I will have to improve on treadmill. 7 pounds a month.

Hello! amyrs, Big goals! Very impressed by your vegan-ism. DotRen, Skin issues are rough. I hope that they figure out how to help Murray feel better. Good luck! cj59, Pen and paper tracking is something to be admired. I think sometimes I might like it better but I'm just so used to the app doing the math for me that I'm spoiled. How are your knees feeling? Did you get a chance to rest them? sunrose49, How was your virtual meeting? I signed up for WW for the virtual meetings. I used a code for 50% off and I "go" 2 or 3 times a week. It's really helping my mindset throughout the week. Despite my awesome virtual meetings, I have been up and down on my eating this week. It's my first week and I am really trying to break my 'comfort food' habit. I eat when I get upset, and I'm upset a lot more lately. I think the key is making sure I take care of myself in positive ways so I've been listening to audiobooks while I do daily chores, I'm taking longer to get ready in the morning - longer shower, moisturizing, sometimes a little make-up or curling my hair, that kind of stuff. I'm not going to say that this first week went super well, because I did have typical temptations and no solid meal plan so there were plenty of meals and snacks that could have been better. But I'm tracking, and I'm getting more steps. I've also been better about water since it's starting to warm up in my little corner of the world. So I'm not too excited to jump on the scale on Monday but I have a weekend without the added burden of homeschool so maybe I can make some progress today. Meal Plan - B: Grapes and a slice of raisin toast, L: Salad with olives and cucumber, D: Who knows?, S: Watermelon, maybe Popcorn Good luck everyone! Stay safe and take care!

irisinnia, it is hard right now, lots of anxiety. No matter what you do, illness, finances, the general state of the world is always in the back of our minds. Trying to take care of yourself and others in small ways helps

Hello Everyone DotRen - Hope Murray is starting to feel better. amyrs - Wishing you the best to meet your goals. irisinnia - I'm glad you are tracking and getting in steps and enjoying the warmer weather. Hopefully that will all help you. sunrose - Good luck with staying on your food plan. I'm still having some knees problems which is limiting my exercise and I was always worried about this. Once you get where you can't exercise, even a little bit of food won't be burned off. I'm hoping I can get moving more again soon. Hope everyone is staying well and safe

I dropped out of school. At 66 I don't want to go to school and compete with 20 year olds . I have a DVR counselor and I told him I would like a part time job. But now I don't go out except to buy food. I am starting tomorrow. Stomach ache tonight on ice cream bars. I will start vegan tomorrow. Potatoes and corn. And tomorrow try to start the treadmill. I will go to sleep tonight not worrying.
