Ok so talked to the vet about Murray's blood works: All good except his thyroid was low -she(vet) said she called a specialist and they think it's because of his ongoing skin problems not an actual thyroid problem. So he's on a new antibiotic (clindamycin) and topical mousse for 14 days then we take him back for a follow up. If he's not clearing up they will do a culture of his skin and find out exactly what bacteria or whatever is going on.
I was glad to hear there were no underlying problems with his liver and things, you know all the things we worry about!

Hello everyone. I start over Memorial Day. I haven't really gained weight but did not eat well yesterday. I ate chicken wings Fritos and a Klondike bar. I have gotten that out of my system. I go food shopping later this morning with my friend Russ. I will get more oatmeal. Apple cinnamon oatmeal. Just 10 calories more per serving. I am taking social media writing starting tomorrow up until July 2. I just want to pass this class. I am taking a certificate in Journalism. I have written communication the last 6 weeks starting July 6 and ending August 14. In fall just taking Practicum 1 a stint with the student newspaper. I will take Practicum 2 and investigative Journalism in spring. I hope to finish 5/22 taking one class in fall 2021 and one class in spring 2022. I graduate with a certificate in Journalism to update my masters. Don't know if I will work. but I will ask the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation to help me get an internship in the summer of 2021 at the local paper. I have to spend 72 hours during the fall semester at the student newspaper. 5 or 6 hours a week. It is the only class I am taking.

Any tips on poison ivy/oak/sumac? Not sure which one. Ron has it all over his arms and one spot on his face from yard work. We had a lot of undergrowth around the magnolia trees and he decided it was time to clean it out. Under one eye is really swollen, though it hasn't gotten worse than it was yesterday. I have him on benedryl every 4 hours and he's using a special soap for it as well as calamine lotion.

Hey everyone! DotRen - I'm glad nothing worse was going on with Murray. I hope you find out what's going on and get him feeling better. Not a clue about poison ivy besides the calamine lotion. Good luck with that! amyrs - I like that you get back on track the very next day. Good luck with your food shopping! cj59 - So glad to hear your knees are feeling better and you're getting back into exercise/steps. I'm rooting for you! sunrose49 - Hello! How are things going for you? I was just stopping in to say "I did it!" I'm down 1.4! I can't believe I finally had a loss! I've been fighting an uphill battle to tip the scale in the downward direction. I want to stress eat all the time, but I kept tracking, kept trying to make small changes, and tried to get in just a little bit of exercise whenever I could. It finally added up! (And I was very bitter with the scale last week, trust me, it's not a field of flowers over here). Reading my Beck cards really, really, really helped. So... more work ahead of me I guess, but hooray! I hope you all are having a nice Memorial Day.

He went to urgent care this morning (forced by me lol) and they said ""contact dermatitis via plants" and put him on a strong antihistamine, antibiotic(ha- the same one Murray is on lol) and a cream. I was going with him but he didn't want me to be in a "sick" place because of my asthma. JD went with him just in case they told him not to drive or something.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well. irisinnia, I feel you on the homeschooling and trips out to stores. It's a very stressful time! I am back to work full-time this week, although our office isn't opening until June 1. I have daycare, so I am in the office handling urgent matters and getting ready for things to ramp up over the summer. Unfortunately, when we are not working, our work just sits and builds, so there is a lot to do. I have mixed feelings about putting my kids in daycare. I would have liked to keep them home a little longer, but it just isn't feasible with my job. We have all but abandoned homeschooling. I'm doing what I can, but it's not much. Daycare has groups capped at 15 kids, and they put siblings together to minimize contact with others, so my three are in a group of 13. DD5 loves being with DD9 and DS11. DD9 does not love having her little sister in her group, lol. Things are slowly reopening here after a couple of months of having virtually everything shut down. We are now allowed to gather with close friends and family in groups of less than 10, but we are expected to socially distance from everyone else. Masks are required when distancing is not possible, but there are still a lot of people who aren't wearing them. I have made so many masks, and I still have to work on a bunch more for our "family stockpile". Right now, we each just have one. Our area continues to do very well, with only a few new cases this month, but I still find going out very stressful. The kids are getting better at keeping their distance when we go out. Weight-wise, I have managed to make it through 2+ months at home without gaining any weight, which is good. I stopped counting points for a couple of weeks, but I've started back again this week. I'm going to see what happens as I go back to my usual crazy work schedule (I mostly work normal hours, but my job is very busy and stressful. It takes a lot of mental and emotional energy and leave little energy for everything else.) I have been in this weight range (within a couple of pounds) since late Fall. My body seems to like this weight, which is 10 pounds less than I was for a couple of years before this fall.

Hello! wwlurker, That's nice that your kids are together. I get the mixed feelings though. We're starting to get an idea of what public school is going to look like this fall and I'm a little less than thrilled. We're debating pulling them out for the year and homeschooling them, which would be a lot of work and stress for me, but might be worth it. I don't know, I'm just worried about my DD5 going to Kindergarten and getting 'in trouble' for playing with other kids, but it might only be half-day which is a plus. DS7 would be in 2nd grade so he'd probably remember what 'normal' was like. I have no idea. On the weight side of things, I've been the same weight for at least a year. Up and down, but the same. So yes, your body definitely likes the weight it's at. Good luck with all the craziness! I hope you find a temporary 'normal' that works for you and your family. sunrose49, Good morning! How are things in your neck of the woods? DotRen, That is hilarious that he's on the same stuff as Murray. Do you give it to them at the same time? lol I'm glad JD went with him so you could stay safe. I hope everyone feels better soon. cj59, Thank you! I had a good weekend. How was yours? Weight loss is going well: Tracking Daily Walk Pre-tracking for tomorrow Reading those beck response cards I liked the analogy in The Diet Trap Solution about eating being a habit like driving your car. You're automatically going to drive on the right side of the road and stop at red lights without even thinking about it, but if you consciously thought about it, you could drive on the opposite side, or go through a red light. And if you did it enough, that would become automatic. So creating habits is just about doing something different repeatedly.

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all doing well. WI is tomorrow morning for me, and so far I'm only -1 for the week. That's great progress for me. I am going to reduce my daily points next week. I know that I have not been keeping to the points I have allotted to myself right now, but I also realize that even when I do, I don't really lose much of anything. So I did some math and figured out how many I should be eating each day to lose at a rate satisfactory to me and I'm going to try to go with that (it's still a couple of points more a day than the app gives me - I think that even though I have a "desk job", I do a lot of running around and working on my feet, so I'm not quite as sedentary as WW thinks people with desk jobs are). I think I need to burn some point values into my head so that I'm more aware of what I'm consuming when I am making choices about what to eat, instead of just tallying it up after the fact. Because that's not really working for me.
I hope that you all have a great weekend!
