Chele, I knew there had to be some designated days for this weekend! I did find Herb Day after you mentioned it and the date varies since it's celebrated on the 1st Saturday in May. My groceries have risen with the delivery costs, but not as bad as I thought. I'm hardly using any gas and haven't eaten out or gone shopping, so that helps cancel out most of the extra grocery expenses. I'm also making some things last longer or just going without in between deliveries. Glad to hear you're mostly recovered and your energy is back. That's good that Iggy doesn't have to go back in the office yet, but I'm sure you'll both be glad when things are more normal. I've been seeing lots of ducks and turtles in the pond lately, but the cardinal hasn't returned. I heard the hawk earlier today, but haven't seen him. The tufted titmouse is such a cute bird. We do get them here, but I've never seen one. There is another big bird count day next weekend, so I'll have to see if I have anything to report. Denise, I'm in Central Florida. There is a pond just off of my backyard, so I tend to see a lot of wading and water birds. There are a lot of oak trees around too, so those attract the songbirds. We have lots of mockingbirds and cardinals, but I've never seen a goldfinch or tufted titmouse here. Linda, too true on the Dr. Fauci cartoon. I'm sure your fountain is inviting for the birds. I'll probably have to join you in breaking out the box of color soon. Becky, I like my Versa, but the Versa 2 is tempting. Maybe next Christmas. We're supposed to get to around 90 today, so it's pretty warm. Were you able to watch the online services? Karen, I would be the kind of volunteer that stayed out of the meetings, but I know that's not your style. Probably best not to observe World Naked Gardening Day! I don't think some of the restaurants are ready to open since they'll have to have PPE and more cleaning supplies on hand. They'd also have to get their inventory back up. It has to be a mess for them. I saw where some have decided just to continue takeout for now. Wow on the Gatlinburg crowds being back. I wonder if this is mainly people that are close to the area and can drive there? I sure wouldn't want to travel yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see your numbers go up with tourists coming in. I'm glad they're keeping the theme parks closed here for now. Liz, hoping you're having a nice weekend.

Karen after 37 years at the front of a class plus dept. chair work, I am definitely not chief in any group!
no naked gardening here. Another day home. I have been doing icky stuff every other day that has been put off. My morning yard work was leveling soil and landscape rock next to pavers so I could slide a big ficus potted tree over onto soil nearer the block wall fence. when the pot waters, the excess can go into soil for nearby plants.
That pavers area has large squares of concrete that went in over 20 years ago. Had to remove a 16/16 paver pushed Up and awry by tree roots on one edge of pavers, fill in with dirt and some river rock to smooth it to blend with stuff beyind the pavers. The one next to it has to go too...or you trip on it. Fun.
then it was laundry, dishes, bills, shredding.
The thrill of these days is so exciting. Going out to bring in laundry off the line.

Karen I would be correct if I figured you didn't celebrate world naked gardening day? If any Texans were participating they would get sunburned in some places they wouldn't want burned.Since the cardinal only dives at the one window in the master bath we never hear him unless we are back there to take a shower. There are many more customers in Walmart now than last year for sure. They used to only have 1 maybe 2 checkout lanes open. There are a lot of people living in the new subdivisions behind there now and we hardly see anyone we know in there unless we just don't recognize them behind the masks. We went to Tractor Supply this morning because Kenneth needed new boots and when we went by HEB there was a line outside the door but the line normally goes fairly quickly.I have a curbside order scheduled for 10:30 tomorrow but we will need a few other things so I will get in and out of there quickly and Kenneth will check out. Before surgery even I moved my step goal to 6000.I usually average about 10K now but I'm keeping my goal at 6K in case I don't feel like or get to walk one day.I don't think I would feel comfortable in a gym now but hopefully the ones you go to will be sanitized. Chele I was able to stream a service by a friend of ours. However our church went back to having in house services today following the idiot governor and his band of monkeys guidelines. They recorded it but it's not up on Facebook yet.Probably just watch it tomorrow. Kathy We got up to 92 and Austin had a high of 95.Maybe hotter tomorrow.Too early for me. Waving to moonriver Denise and Linda.

smart move, Becky.
Saw a post of FB today.. the reason they can open up things is that hospitals now have enough ICU room!
True...they shut down to keep medical facilities from being overwhelmed. It is not safe.
