Good Morning ~ had a very good afternoon Friday -
I stopped working at 2:00 - had to. Our internet was SO SLOW and calls to parents were going unanswered, then I found out the teachers were requesting I call Parents of students who submitted "only 60%" of their assignments! WAIT? WHA?? I explained, patiently, that 60% was far higher than 0% or 25% like some students...OMG, I was surprised how rigid the teachers are being towards families who really are struggling! School work is the last thing on their minds - their comments about students are not kind. They are acting like parents are personally hurting the teachers by not submitting 2 hours of worth of work per day. The Prince totally gets it and yes, did remind the teachers we are 'treading water' here - this message was repeated Friday morning at the All Staff meeting but it might need repeated AGAIN...I cannot keep harassing parents during this time, even if we are moving towards a Yellow Phase next week. Which btw is not much different than a RED phase lol
I think folks around here have been treating our County like YELLOW phase for the last week or so - the panic seems to have died down and we are moving around more than politicians think - trust me, the WalMart parking lot is still packed! - and shelves are lined with TP again lol
Gary is wondering what Yellow Phase will mean for Car Dealerships. This week was pretty quiet with online leads - I read a local article a customer could not find a Notary open or willing to do business via Skype for him to buy a car. He had to travel 30 minutes to the other side of the County to leave paperwork outside a Notary's office who watched him sign from a window?? Odd?? Anyways, it's hard to sell a car over the internet - at least folks in our area prefer to see the car in person, drive it in person (not virtual) and make a deal in person. DH is heading in today to the dealership for a follow up (1:00). At least it will get him out of the house this afternoon!

Yesterday I bought a desk for Lindsey's room - so funny - I was looking at Target.com (curb side pick up) or even Amazon.com and shared with Linds some ideas. She replied with Overstock.com which were about $100 more! lol Nooo, I said, and redirected her - she got it. We found a decent one that will need built but it should arrive this Tuesday!! Yay!! Love Amazon.com
Meanwhile the Prince feels Administrators should be able to return to our offices mid-May (fine by me as long as strangers are not wandering in and out of the building) remember last March, DL hired a cleaning crew to disinfect the offices - there were these rough looking guys wandering around with spray bottles of vinegar/water solution with no masks, not social distancing, and no ID badges. I was so upset and un-nerved! Let's hope that is not what greets us mid-May
I mentioned to DD23 Carly, I may be returning mid-May - she was thrilled to get me out of the DR! LOL Wait a minute, this is MY HOUSE I reminded her and she got all huffy. I'm seriously confused why she feels so entitled to have the house to herself - really!!grrrr - I want HER out of the house! I guess I was looking forward to her summer in Pittsburgh more than I thought! She's not the only one disappointed that was cancelled -
Oh, to answer a question about her PITT program, she was re-scheduled by the Dept to take other courses over the Summer to free up her Spring semester. Spring is when she will do her Student Teaching placement - I've been hinting to her to look in Pittsburgh as a placement - hoping she explores other cities not just here. The O&M course will be done every-other-weekend this Fall ?? She continues to be strong with BF Ben - they see each other about 2x a week - usually outside hiking or taking long walks but yes, she is still in contact with him. We don't agree, as we felt "You don't live together you can't BE together" but there ya have the 20 yr olds feeling they are invincible - just like the Teens outside in my neighborhood shooting basketball together or playing catch with a football - I'm at a loss there - I did tell Carly NO WAY can she be near my DM who is 80 yr old and 'at risk'

The batteries in my stationary bike died. Again. I need new batteries. Again. They take D size - will see if Carly will run out and buy some for me - since she is so eager to get outside and 'DO something' Sue - no WAY can we consider turning the heat off here lol next week temps promise to be a high of 40s again with low 30s each night. I can't stand it. It has been such a miserable COLD spring season - today will be a cloudy, overcast day but warmer temps in the 50s - so outside I will be!! Especially knowing how cold most of this May it might be - Glad you were able to get home early yesterday even after running your errands - and now you are organized for today's BJ's run - good to know you are staying off the scale and still losing. I feel I'm the opposite! But I am tracking, planning meals ahead and staying as close to my Plan when stressed out! lol Oh - that reminds me - WW posted a nice article how to stop STRESS eating!! I found it a good reminder! And will follow some of the tips -nothing new as we have ALL known these things for years, but let's get after it again! Carole -glad you can see the sun in spurts now and then - same here - comes and goes all within a matter of hours - lol - what is up for this weekend? We are not expecting any rain until tonight so I may just head outside - fingers crossed!! Oh, the one contractor submitted his estimate of replacing our Patio doors if they can't fix the sliding screen doors - about $2000 MORE than Window World! Wow! I am surprised at that - he also wants me to call him today to review the list of other projects and what they estimate - I'm anxious now. And not in a good way - as I am still so surprised at the cost he quoted for replacing those patio doors - Alright everyone! Let's make this a STRONG Saturday - I find myself digging deep to find positive energy -

Good morning!
I had this idea last night to get out of the house super early this morning and start running as the sun was rising but it is DARK and I am by myself so I have slightly changed my "self-imposed" start time. I am running on a different trail today--one that I haven't been on for about 8 weeks due to COVID and concerns about being around people. The county stay-at-home order expired on Thursday so that we just follow the governor's directive and there are a number of counties that are getting a bit grouchy with the governor seeing businesses close all over the place and no changes in the directives-- he keeps saying "just a few more weeks" and I think some are at the end of their rope. It would be hard to be a leader right now, but I do think that there are some areas where they could experiment. Our county (of 200K people) is at 44 positive cases, 42 recovered and no deaths. The only "new cases" in the past 6 weeks have been at the county lines---90 miles on either side of the county. We will see. Like Christine described, more people are cautiously venturing to the store, etc. Lots of masks and concern. I have not been in a store to see if there is toilet paper, but will try it this weekend. My downfall with my WW journey continues to be lack of planning...I have been totally out of sync with that and plan to change it up this weekend.
I need to get ready to head out for my run so wanted to get this post started....will be back after my run to really spend some time posting. So glad that you all are hear and WISH that we all had better weather---if ever there was a year that we deserved it, it is this year! It is cooler here (48 degrees right now) but at least will warm up to the mid-60's or so....I will see you all later---and Iook forward to catching up!

STRONG SATURDAY... Looking forward to a pretty full day of getting stuff done! Inside, with windows open - outside in the sunshine... might get patio cushions out and try to enjoy dinner on the patio tonight! Might be just frozen pizza, but HEY we can eat out there anyway! LOL
We had burgers last night for supper - will go back and track - it won't be "pretty" but it will be tracked! I NEED to get back to that!
Jenny: WOW That SOUNDS like a lot of trucks to weigh!! Hope you enjoyed your wine last night!
Shelly: HOT?? Oh I envy you!! LOL Hope you get to build up your business.
WOO HOO for a porch! I love mine!!! Fingers crossed he can get it done...soon! ♥

Christine - Good morning... thanks for getting us started this morning! We are at 55 degrees and the sun is SHINING bright... I don't see the pine tree blowing in the wind - so maybe FINALLY a nice - warm - calm - sunny day?? I can hope!
I guess Zoë is staying here all day and overnight... it's OK... I was hoping to get some things done upstairs... so we'll see how this goes! LOL I know Patti worked all week - and even though she is off next week - I do think she needs some time home "alone"... last weekend she cleaned out Matt's drawers and closet... just toted everything for now... but I don't think she can do that kind of stuff with Zoë underfoot.
This weekend Tyler is moving out. He is moving in with his GF... I asked if this would affect her $$, and she LOL, said No, Matt used to think his rent didn't cover the utilities he used! LOL
Anyway - I am just looking forward to the weekend...
Christine - Oh dear... I was knocked OFF my connection so many times yesterday... that for a while I gave up! LOL Figured IF anyone called me, I'd reconnect! Bosses don't need to know that, right??
Good luck getting your point across to the teachers! DO they not have children at home? Do they not "get it" that there is only so many hours in a day to teach children and still (possibly) be working?? OY VEY!
Good luck too with Phase Yellow! YAY for Gary getting out of the house today... yeah, I am not sure I could buy a car without BEING THERE! Although I did buy one - one time - we drove it we liked it, the day we went to get it - there had to be over 50 of the same darned car - all lined up - same color - same everything... NO WAY do we know we got the one we drove! LOL
WOO HOO with your new desk! YAY For Linds "getting it" that the extra $$ wasn't necessary. Oh My - I don't remember hearing about the cleaning crew - but Whoa... yeah... let's hope they do the "Cleaning" before you all head back to the office!
{{{hugs}}} Yup, fine line between them "taking over" our houses! You want them GONE, but want them home... I am having same feelings about my Tracy. I am secretly hoping - with Tyler out of Patti's house... she MAY start spending some more time THERE... maybe some days when she gets up (around 4 PM) she may head there to eat dinner with THEM, then "hang out" with Patti before working at 11... instead of taking over our LR each and every night!! Good luck with your DD... {{{hugs}}}
Ahh, I am glad DD is still "seeing" Ben... I am not in the same mindset of "don't live together - don't be together"... we get Zoë each weekend - we did EAster... but then again in our state we were never told that... we were told no gatherings more than 10 people! We have folks out hiking and biking together... and they "meet" others out there... as much as they SAY they are not - let's face it... they are!!
OH We are NOW a statewide - if you go outside your home, and cannot social distance, you must wear a mask! If I am walking on the street - I will not wear it... if I go in a building or have to be closer to anyone - I will. LOL I told Tracy to bring Zoë's little mask... she wears it if she has to go to the store with Patti or Kathy - so she can use it here... if we go anywhere. She says it's NO COMFORTABLE... but she does wear it. Had to LOL Last week we went to the store where Ken works... she had her hand covering her mouth and nose as much as she could! She is THAT USED to wearing the mask, I guess!
Yes, send Carly to the store!! LOL Something is "up" with my bike too! The screen was working but not LIT like it should be... Don't need it lit - I guess... but may have to change MY batteries again and see...
HA! Here either... I still have the pellet stove going twice a day! ON these rainy damp dark days, it gets COLD in here!! Yes, we are getting 2 days of sun, then Back.To.Rain.! UGH!
WOW! $2k MORE than the original estimate?? WHEW! Yikes, good luck to figuring that out too!
I am making calls... waiting... I missed the Solar company call yesterday - darned work call! So now I need to call HIM back! Was on line this morning to get someone out here to give us a price on roofing... but seriously want the roofing and the solar to be done "together"... we'll see how this all goes! LOL
Calling the driveway guy today... that will be repaved... new blacktop this year!
Gabrielle: I would guess your county numbers are so low due to you all being so "separated" on a day to day basis?? Lots of space and fresh air out your way! Good luck getting back to "normal" whatever that may be these days! Glad you held back and waited for more daylight to run this morning... be safe ♥
I had to LOL Last week - I "reminded" Ken and Tracy that we all went to Wal-Mart... shopped... then stopped for dinner... sat in our car to eat take out - but not one of us worried about washing our hands or used hand sanitizer between Wal-Mart and Dinner! Clearly we are not "worried" about the virus!! Here we are over a week later and all still fine!

OK Well, I need to get moving here... Tracy & Zoë will arrive shortly, and I have been being lazy. I am still not showered and dressed! Oh well... no biggie!
Will put on my "painting" clothes, capris and sleeveless top - will need a sweatshirt for now, but not if I get moving!! LOL Today I am also wandering around the yard - to take pics of everything I want to get rid of! Pallets - cinder blocks - (more) bricks... cement steps... Paving blocks and edging blocks... and SLATE! I even offered slate to our painting lady... since some of her classes are done on slate - she never-called-back! UGH!
I hope to check in later... we'll see just how well this day goes!
♥hugs♥

Morning all....slept in a bit....beautiful sunshine this morning but still a bit too chilly to open windows. Hoping that by the time I do the run to BJ's it will be warm enough and I can flood this house with fresh air!! Nothing much planned for the day....got some laundry to fold, bills to pay, clutter to organize and toss, think it's time to actually go through the junk mail pile on the table.
I also have some painting supplies that arrived this week that I want to go through and organize...I had ordered some extra paints and canvases for future online painting parties. I know it will be a while before there will be any at the studio because even when you head to "yellow" phase and can have groups of 25 they still have to be 6' apart and practice social distancing. That means there can't be more than maybe 6 painters and Lacey in there and that's not practical. Since we are still several weeks or more from just getting to yellow....I'm thinking that we are going to be doing ZOOM paint nights for a while yet....
Never did go through the BJ's coupons yet....played Words with Friends and a mindless puzzle game and then dozed off...didn't really even watch anything on TV, it was just on as "background noise"!! Need to do that when I'm done here...planned to head out late morning...just enjoying coffee for now, no big rush since I have no place to be and nothing to get ready for!!
Carole...glad you got a little sunshine yesterday....sorry the storms returned. We had crazy storms all day Thursday but a dry Friday...there was a couple hours later in the afternoon that it got a little "dark" and looked like we might get some rain but shortly after that, the skies cleared and now it's beautiful. Our beautiful Sunday is not looking like it's going to be very nice now....now showing showers in the morning, then after a break for a few hours, showers come back around 7:00 or so and rain over night! Of course Monday when I head back to work the sun is to shine all day!!! Go figure!!
I'd be beyond annoyed at the solar company STILL not calling you back!! WOW Carole, I didn't realize it was the same BIL with the wife and daughter on disability....talk about "working the system"! Is in any wonder people like us that work hard for a honest living and honest paycheck get angry and resentful of those taking, taking, taking and living a "higher lifestyle" than we are!!
YAY Carole for 8 dots...ah yes, those standing desks are VERY heavy....not something you and Tracy need to try to lift. Maybe on Monday you can head into work to get it when Ken if off...yes, there will be more people there but don't want to hurt your back just to do it today!!
No, not great news about DM but no cancer is a blessing. Since she has a cardiologist and has regular check ups with him it the aneurysm will be closely watched and as I mentioned, my aunt has had a couple that they have watched for close to 10 years now. I think Jim and Annie will be "on top of" the care and monitoring so if there are any changes it will be taken care of promptly.

WOW Jenny....165 trucks sounds like a lot to me!! I'm sure it made the day go quickly...busy days usually do go fast! Hope you enjoyed your glass of wine!
Shelly....despite not much activity, it is good to get the statements done and out of the way!! Hopefully you can find some good marketing tools to grown your business.....hopefully you get some new recruits!!! How fun to get a porch at the house...very thoughtful birthday present. Yes, I'm sure DH will do a great job even if he isn't a carpenter!! A "real porch" is something I want on our house when we do the renovation/kitchen expansion. We have a covered area on the front of the house but it's not really a porch....you can't get to it from the house....you have to go outside and walk around to get on it....I want one that I can grab a cup of coffee and walk right onto it from the inside. I love to sit on DC Carol's porch when we visit....my dream is a covered porch with a little table w/ chairs so we can enjoy the fresh air and eat out there and maybe a couple chaise type chairs to sit and read, knit, relax.....who knows, maybe I can sit out there and paint when I retire??? A girl can dream, right???
I think you are right about DS needing to "get on" the doctor and get the test ordered...unfortunately when it is recommended at one locations and has to be scheduled through another office things can easily get "lost in the shuffle"....since DS was in Reno and has to schedule through his local facility it could be a bit of back and forth to get everyone on the same page. Hopefully he is taking this seriously and "rattles some chains" to get the test ordered!! Glad Spanky is doing well...yes, he's a lucky pup that something scared the coyote off....
Thanks for starting us off today Christine....YAY for "calling it a day" early yesterday even if it was because of the internet!! WOW, the teachers just seem to still NOT "get it" even with the constant reminders from the Prince....no, school work is not the first thing on many parents' minds and if those parents are still working and the school work has to be fit in in the evening it makes for very long overwhelming day for them. Hopefully the teachers will get less rigid and a bit more understanding of the struggling families.
LOL Christine...I think for the average person they will not notice much difference going from red to yellow phase...I think the ones who can get back to work will be the most grateful even if it's not back to "business as usual" yet.... I'm sure virtual car shopping is different.....maybe with the yellow phase there can be more "social distanced" in person car shopping....since we are still red, I really haven't read much about what is "allowed" in the yellow phase!
NOPE....no TP in my part of the state....when I stopped at Walmart yesterday for the couple things I didn't want to buy in bulk at BJ's I checked for TP so I could grab some for Sarah if she needed it...but none, not even single rolls. Meat was pretty slim too.....lots of cured, lunch meat and stuff but not fresh. I'm hoping I can get some ground beef at BJ's today....with counting shoppers in and out of our stores, and lots of pick or or delivery options, the parking lots are not too bad here......
Christine...we have a couple notaries in town that are open by appointment only. I know that was what we were worried about with the need to sell the Corolla....Jason is still driving it to run the full tank of gas out of it....he had just filled it before we had it at the garage. Funny thing is now that the tank isn't full it doesn't drip anymore. Jason actually at one point said "if I don't fill the tank all the way, we can hang onto it for a while yet"....I said NO!!! I didn't even want him to run the gas out of it but he insisted. Once it gets to 1/4 tank I told him to park it and take the van!!! Hopefully today Gary will get an sale from the follow up...I'm sure that will make him feel productive at least and get him out of your hair for a bit! LOL!

Christine....glad you found a desk and it will arrive Tuesday....had to laugh at Linds' choice on Overstocks but at least she "saw the light" and chose the Amazon one!! Glad you will be heading back to the office soon....I agree, no strangers in and out!! Sorry Carly continues to feel so "entitled" to having the house to herself and doesn't get that YOU & GARY own the house and choose to let her live there....she is an adult and if could be on her own...I'm sure the summer in Pittsburgh would have been great and now you all have to regroup and figure a way to live peacefully at the house!! Hopefully she will take your "hint" or nudge to look for student teaching placement in Pittsburgh....sounds like she needs to get out of the house!! Now the summer classes make sense. While I agree with you about Ben and Carly not being together through this the 20-somethings are invincible in their minds and don't see the harm in "bending the rules" to fit their wants!!! Glad you laid down the law about DM....no way she should be near her at her age!!!
Bummer about the bike batteries....hopefully Carly will be glad to do the "store run" to get out!!!
LOL Christine....we may have a few chilly days ahead but thankfully our house really holds the heat well. As long as I keep the windows closed even if we get some 40's overnight and only upper 50's during the day the temps won't drop more than a degree or two....right now it's 72.8° in the house so we have a few degrees to play with before it feels cold in here....we both can manage for a day or two if it drops down to 68-69°!!!
WOW Christine.....$2000 MORE than Window World for the slider!! YIKES!! I'd be a bit anxious to hear what he quotes for the other projects in the house.
OK....really need to get that coupon list for BJ's done and get out the door.....just lacking a bit of motivation to get dressed and venture out!! I know it will be nice to just go for a drive with my sun roof open and fresh air filling the car!!! Will finish catching up when I get home....

Hi! Its sunny and 80 here today. I'm sitting 0n the swing, covered, just enjoying the beautiful weather. Dh and my dbil put a roof over it. I was mad as I use or more than dh does. He said he has always wanted it covered so he can sit on it. He hasnt used it since...jerk. but it is nice to sit without the sun in my eyes and read but wish I was getting some sun. We got the dogs groomed today. They hate it but smell so much better. It's like they know when they are about to get cleaned up and they go roll around on sticky stuff.
I'll catch up and be back

Christine, wow thats a lot high on that estimate. Glad Lindsey got her classes figured out. You think pitt would be more flexible with the money with the pandemic and all. I'm surprised the teachers are being so hard on their students when the Administration is telling them it's ok and to ease up. That sounds backwards to me. Lol to Carly wanting YOU out. Aah the 20 somethings.
Carole, I think it is so cool that you jump in the hot tub during your lunch hour. Yes we have a weekly group zoom with my sisters, 1 niece and Mum on Thursdays at 1130, I gave a Skype call at 4pm with my mum and then a sisters zoom at 7pm on Sundays. Phew that's a lot of communicating.....I like though

What a beautiful day for a ride....had the sun roof open on the way there....was a little too chilly for the window to be open but on the way home I had the window open, breeze blowing my hair around....it was heavenly!! Got everything put away, windows and doors open....it's actually warmer outside right now than inside so this will help keep the temp up in the house! Couldn't get everything I had coupons for but did save 60¢ off each gallon of gas so that's a win!! Oh.....when I got home and got the mail, my new masks arrived a day early so I will have the soft ear loops from now on....they are awesome!!! The plastic gizmo was a godsend this week to help save my ears but now I don't even need to worry about that!!
Oh...forgot to mention...finally got our stimulus $$$ today...it was deposit today I guess because I have been checking every day and it was not there yesterday!! Don't plan on using it but it's nice to have that little cushion if we need it down the road!
Gabrielle...good idea to change your "start time" plans and NOT run in the dark by yourself!! Enjoy the run on the "new old" trail...hopefully it won't be too crowded. Yes indeed, many are at the end of their ropes and everyone is ready for this to be over but as Christine mentioned, the move from red to yellow phase in PA is NOT really a lot of freedom so it's not going to be complete freedom and back to life as we know it! Hopefully you will start to see some restrictions lifted in your county....
Carole...I love the idea of a patio dinner tonight!! Glad you have sunshine and no wind!! I do love burgers but they are not always kind to the tracker!!! Enjoy your time with Zoe today...love the picture of her "chillin" in the sand box!! Too cute!! I'm sure it is hard for Patti to get things done with Zoe under foot and I'm sure it's emotional for her to sort through his stuff and might be easier by herself and not have to worry about keep "strong" for Zoe. I'm sure it will be odd w/o Tyler in the house as well...glad the loss of rent won't be a financial burden on her.
Hope you get a lot accomplished and maybe the painting finished??? Fingers crossed you get some "takers" for the various things in the yard. Wish we were closer, I would take the slate for Lacey....she was talking about doing a slate painting but does not have a source that is reasonably priced....she would love it!!
Hi Jo...glad you are enjoying nice weather today too!!! LOL, sorry DH covered your swing for "him" and still hasn't used it!! YAY for nice clean pups...they always look so pretty and smell so sweet after a nice bath!!
Today is Hannah and Shea's 12th wedding anniversary....hard to believe they have been married that long already!!! Seems like yesterday we were scrambling getting the last of things done. Shea's on a trip so it's pretty much like any other day!! LOL!!
Waves to all not yet to pop in!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Good afternoon!
So glad that my run is done for today--it was one of the harder days (who knows why..lack of sleep, the head wind?) But I am a believer that the hard days are actually the days that make us stronger. As I left, the families were rolling in with a LOT more people. Hoping that everyone sticks to the distancing guidelines so that they don't shut things down more. I know that you all saw on the news..the beaches in some parts of Southern CA were pretty crowded last weekend so the Governor shut them down this weekend---and people are VERY unhappy. We'll see how this all rolls out with his address on Monday (he speaks to all of us on weekdays at noon). DH got his run in on trails--SO MUCH poison oak this year and I am so glad I am not out there with him. If I got a bad case of poison oak right now, I think that it would push me over the edge!
Christine: Wow, I had no idea that DL brought in "outsiders" to do your cleaning before. I agree- badges will be needed if they do that again. If it is anything like CA, they will as a BIG focus is on how we are going to clean things. There is a machine they can bring in to fumigate the room with hydrogen peroxide (with no people in the room) and people are talking about things like that. Glad that you and Linds came to a quick agreement on the desk:) Yes, I hear you on Carly. My sister is the same way with her daughter (living at home now and a boyfriend not far away). DS20 doesn't have a girlfriend so he and a friend are walking on local trails and distancing---only for a few hours at a time. DH is feeling MUCH better about it. None of us (including me) have had much interaction with my mom other than Zoom and dropping things off at her house outside the door. So glad though that she is staying healthy and does interact with friends on the phone, etc. She is getting very tired of it though. I hope that Gary's time at the dealership pays off today. If for no other reason, then to at least give him ideas of how to sell cars in a virtual environment. He could make some great youtubes in different cars and become a sensation! Then he could sell a LOT of cars! Wow, that is just crazy what they have done with Carly's program...they are talking about waiving the student teaching requirement here in CA....why on early won't they have them "student teach" virtually...it would be GREAT learning for them since so many teachers now don't know how to do it too well. Glad that she at least got $1000 to help and that she is going into a field where there will be HIGH DEMAND. Hope that you have a good day and get some "D" batteries---have Carly get you the value-pack! I feel like I hardly have anything anymore that uses D batteries. Glad that the TP situation is slowing down...not here yet. Hope that you have a good day. Say, was the person with the SUPER high bid the person that DH liked so much? I hope not! I am SO sorry about your foot! Can you get a telemed appt or something? My DS26's ortho office is opening up around 5/22. Hope that you have a good day!
