Well the closest I got to crafting was texting Dd #1 what size the afghan is that I made for DGD#2. Got some yard work done today- and the lousy woodchuck got to my sugar snap peas. Hope I fortified the fence enough to keep it out tonight.
Off to catch some TV and crochet. G

That's terrible that the woodchuck got your snap peas. I love sugar snap peas. I think that people make all kinds of sizes for baby blankets and I have no idea what size mothers prefer so I usually just make the ones to donate a car seat size. That way going from house to car and into stores, etc, baby can be warm. Also in the store. They keep those places way too cold. I think you said that you're going to watch tv now. I hope there's something you like on this evening although, now that I notice,it's just after 10pm where you are. Time got away from me since I was up late last night. I'm almost done with my current blanket and am trying to decide which one to do next. There are just way to many to choose from esp when I go to youtube to watch a video and then see all the choices at that right side of the screen. Sleep well everyone

Hope everyone slept well last night!
Ruth, I smile reading your post.....I am such a basic crocheter- and you look at youtube like a kid in a candy store- all the pretty and interesting patterns!! The blanket you are making now- its for a grandchild right? DD#1 is going to get out DGD#2’s afghan, and I will use that to dictate the size of this one. I could probably stop now and just put a border on it.I still have DGS’s baby afghan here, which was a boatload of work- made of tiny granny squares. It looks like a crocheted quilt and I think is so pretty. Don’t think DGS used it much as Dd had me keep it here. I won’t put that much work into a baby afghan again....although this one is so pretty.
I am tired of the news and in the evenings am watching Turn- the story of spies used by General Washington in the Revolutionary war. I have seen it before (its on Netflix, which Ds subscribes to). It was originally produced by AMC. Its excellent and I am enjoying watching it again.
I am going to church this am!! (First time since early March). We will “meet” in our cars, and the service will be in the parking lot. Still better than lockdown.

Ginny, yes I often think that my hobby is more collecting patterns and yarn rather than making the actual items. You reminded me of the granny square sweater I made for ddil and ds' last daughter. I doubt she wore it much and I don't know what ever happened to the sweater. I'm sure they gave it to someone. It, too, was a ton of very small granny squares.I know you're well aware of how much work that is...all that end weaving especially.
I have the border on the afgan and will weave in ends today. There are only a couple ends. This one was supposed to be for one of my ds' two little boys. It's pretty small though because I ended the increase side after I finished the two skeins of the hobby lobby yarn that's like Bernat's blanket yarn. that's all I had of that.I think the actual blanket ended up about 30x30 (if that )so I may keep going with the border in order to make it larger. It is only intended to be more like a lap blanket so for a two year old it might be ok or I might decide to save it for any babies that come along. It doesn't look as though my two grandchildren that had the two greatgrand sons are having any more than the one they already have but oldest grandaughter maybe..she's the one that has two girls. But there's always the remaining eleven grandchildren although it's not very likely that when the two youngest grandchildren are old enough to have children of thier own that I will still be around since these boys are only 2 and 6
I'm not sure what I'm going to work on today.Time will tell.

Hey Ruth, Well that is like quilting....we collect fabric and patterns with all good intentions. Then we keep on collecting, of course making some projects, but continuing to add to our collection. Guess that is why they keep on coming out with new fabric lines and yarns. Just to keep us on our toes.
I actually have an afghan that is very 70’s in the color combo. Had I looked at it 15 years ago, I would have called it very dated. Now its back in style. Just the way things go.
DD#1 gave me the size of DgD#2’s afghan....I have a ways to go to finish the afghan for DGS#2. Thankfully I have the yarn, so I will just finish the afghan when I run out of yarn.
Church was awesome. Nice to get back together. We did stay in our cars- but they brought out the backup sound system and it worked really well. So good to be worshipping together again.
I have a red squirrel living in my shed. Gotta pick up some mothballs tomorrow (supposedly they hate the smell) and the seal up the hole I think it has been going in through. Never a dull moment.
Hard to believe tomorrow is Monday. GInny

Seems like you're being overrun with critters...first the woodchuck eating your sugar snap peas and now a squirrel. We have a lot of rabbits and some 13stripe ground squirrels. The neighbor shoots them even though it's illegal to shoot rabbits out of season and also in residential areas but he does it anyway. The ground squirrels do a lot of damage by making so many holes.
So what size did dgd#2 blanket end up being? I finished the one I mentioned earlier. I haven't measure it but pit on my lap and it works fine and will be a perfect size for either of my small grandsons. I started a larksfoot blanket for which I'm using colors perfect for her but I'mm not sure the larksfeet show up very well in this yarn as it's variegated. I'll make a couple more rows and see how it looks then. If I happened to be a little smarter I'd do swatches instead of starting the whole thing but I hate doing swatches so will probably always end up ripping out a lot when I don't like something.
Earler today dh wanted to know what th4e chance of rain for today was. I looked it up...40%. So as the day went on and it stayed bright and sunny we decided it wasn't going to rain but just about a half hour ago ..guess what....yep, it started raining. He was going to put the battery charger on the truck that wouldn't start the other day.Good thing he didn't go ahead and do that.
I call meals that have meat and potatoes "real" meals so I made one today. Pork tenderloin which is so easy and quick to make, mashed potatoes with creamed corn on them, and glazed carrots.Yummy.
