lani, his "handlers" quickly said "he was joking" - bull. He's always said that more tests = higher numbers and make "us" look bad.

I'm sure it was a joke because he's such a fun loving guy.
I don't know what's more annoying. The stupid things he says and does or the lies his staff expects us to believe.
Both are annoying so it's a tie. Lol.
Embarrassing too. Who would have thought the USA could sink so low?

My husband read that AOC posted that the empty seats were caused by kids on Tic Toc flooded the ticket site to tie up the tickets so his fans couldn't get tickets. They also used other venues and got rid of the "evidence" within a day so the campaign workers couldn't find it. Here's a link to an article about it. I'm not familiar with this media source. janejanejane.com/2020/06/21/tiktok-and-k-pop-teens-claim-sabotage-trumps-tulsa-rally-thousands-of-seats-left-empty/Should add that this type of sabotage can work both ways so both campaigns will have to figure out how to deal with this.

Am I reading this wrong or simply not getting it?
Are Trump supporters blaming AOC for this instead of a bunch of brilliant youngsters messing around? Or, should I call them juvenile deliquents?

birdgal, At the point of the article no one was "blaming" AOC, she was the one announcing it was the reason the auditorium was empty. I haven't heard any comments from the Trump camp for this.

Yes, always a joke from the man with no sense of humor.
The TikTok thing wouldn't prevent actual attendance. I think the point was to build up expectations and then pull the rug out from under him. I have seen speculation that potential attendees might have seen the million person estimate and decided not to brave that kind of crowd. Fear of catching COVID makes more sense to me.
Quite a few people who post on the GDT ProBoard registered with the intention of not going.

Thank You! I misunderstood. Kids! This is a David and Goliath story what am! I don't think there will be any comments from Trump camp. What can they say? Kids will be kids. Just kids. Not radical protesters.
He must be foaming at the mouth.

yeah if the trump supporters were really gung ho about going and didn't care about covid, they still would have and could have gone. i, too, think people actually thought better of it due to covid.

Some Trump dude issued a statement that they weed out falsely registering people by checking cell phones, or some such malarky, so the estimate was for real folks planning to attend. If so, where were these million people?

His whole staff are a bunch of liars. Liars who obviously think we are just as dumb as they are and will believe any load of poo they serve us.
Don't they make you tired? 🤤😫😴

I know. I always get sucked down the rabbit hole with his stupid numbers spinning. It's like trying to bat cobwebs away but the spiders spin faster than I can knock 'em down.

The Tulsa Fire Department told Forbes on Sunday that attendance at Trump's rally was just under 6,200 people.

Husband was reading that Trump's campaign manager said that you didn't need a ticket to get into the event and it was "first come, first served" for seating, therefore the ticket reservations didn't keep people out. I thought that there would be 19,000 people within driving distance of Tulsa that would want to see Trump. I do think that fears about COVID-19, concern about the size of the crowd (Trump's people were saying there could be a million people there), and concern about protesters too, but 6200? Could be the support for Trump isn't there?
