This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hi everyone! My big plan to reduce my points went by the wayside when I went way over the first day. I haven't been tracking, really, this week. But, I haven't been overeating either. I went to the doctor yesterday and was pleasantly surprised on his scale, so I hopped on this morning and was very happy to see that I've lost a couple of pounds this week. Official WI is tomorrow for me, but I think I'm going to skip it and take today as a win. I will probably try to start tracking again tomorrow. I'm now at the lowest I've been in almost three years. This is exciting for me and I can't wait to see where this goes. I am perfectly happy with this very slow loss rate. I almost don't even notice it. Right now, I'm trying to focus on making sure that I'm taking care of myself, which is very difficult when I'm working. Eating regularly is a challenge, although I have been doing well with making sure that I eat a healthy lunch and a healthy dinner. I just need to work on the evening snacking and on eating breakfast. I'm really not a breakfast person. irisinnia, you asked in the last thread which program I follow - it's Momentum (when I actually am following something). I just love that the points are so easy to figure out and that the only thing it really discourages is fat. As a vegetarian, I find anything which restricts carbs very difficult. I also tend to have negative effects when I eat too much fat anyway, so this seems to really work for me. I hope you all are doing well!

Good morning
wwlurker, wow you are doing great!! Good for you. I think slow is better. Keep up the good work. I forgot you are a vegetarian. Giving up carbs would be hard.
Amy, you can do this. I've seen you do it before. I know how hard it is to keep the "back on track" going.
Waving to all. I have jazzercise at 8:30. I am trying to get in more water. I love water, but have really been slacking of late. I am doing better with veggies, but have cut out fruit for a bit. Trying to watch my sugar.

wwlurker, I follow a couple of plant based youtubers and they have some good ideas Running Away With Life Caitlin Shoemaker RainbowPlantLife Chanty Marie sunrose49, DotRen, irisinnia, wwlurker, amyrs, *waves* Ron's poison ivy is mostly cleared up. He finished his antibiotics yesterday. Have to wait until the 20th to do Murray's test, all of his meds (pills and topical) have to be out of his system completely. No baths either (he loves his baths, 2 more weeks and he won't be happy about it lol). JD has an ear/nose/throat infection. He gets them about 3 times a year with the seasons. I keep augmentin on hand for it. I swear I'm more of a pharmacist than wife/mother some times. I'm doing well, went off plan a bit yesterday (brownie and pizza) but not too bad - I still have weeklies left lol. Today may be "big salad" day to help get rid of the water retention from all the salt. Record heat here and it doesn't look like we'll get any of the tropical storm (just South of Houston), but we could have used the rain.

I am starting completely over today. I gave the treadmill away. I have my old Health Rider I will try to exercise on. I am going to be Vegan. I want to clean up the living room. I have a lot of paper. I am getting cable back tomorrow when the box comes fed ex. The health rider is an all body exerciser. i have had it for years. it helped me really get in shape years ago. I gave away an incumbent bike. So the health rider is the only piece of exercise equipment i have left. It is quiet. I am getting a bookshelf today. i hope it fits. I can put the printing paper on the shelf. And store masks. I have a bookshelf next to it. We have to clean that one out.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello to you all. I hope you and your families are well and that your weight loss plans are going well too. I'm struggling with weight loss related issues right now and just kind of need a break from it all, so I may not be posting that much. Hopefully I can get some things resolved in my mind and get on track to losing weight again. I know doing that will make me feel better - makes me wonder why it's so difficult to do then Take care everyone

I lost 3 pounds since yesterday. haven't been this low in a while. 40 pounds lost. moved the health rider into the bedroom. Ordered coming tomorrow a a portable DVD player to play WATP. I have one for older people. Lots of room in living room. I am very out of shape. But I will slowly over the days do it. it has begun to rain. Tomorrow too. This time I am going to do it. Vegan works with me.

Hi everyone! I check this page fairly frequently, but usually only post when I have something to say. cj59, I completely understand needing a break from weight loss related things (I'm kinda the poster child for that, I think). For some people, weight loss is really just about changing habits and "walking the walk". But I think most of us, especially those with a lot to lose, have complicated relationships with food, exercise and body image. I know I do. Exploring those relationships is never a bad thing, in my opinion. DotRen, I feel like a bit of a psychologist most days. My "big" kids are 9 and 11. I know that I had a lot of feelings at that age, but I certainly don't remember my parents spending so much time giving me advice on how to navigate the world and interpersonal relationships. I guess I just didn't talk to them a whole lot! amyrs, I am in the same boat in being at my lowest in quite a while. I looked back at my Fitbit weight record and I haven't been this low since 2017! Hard to imagine considering how much I still weigh. I tend to think of my weight over the past few years as out of the ordinary for me. But if I'm being honest, this high weight has actually become a new normal for me. I just want some stability. I hopped on the scale today out of curiosity because I haven't been tracking, and was surprised to see that I'm down another pound. I find this so encouraging. So, I went back and tracked what I could remember from the week and discovered that I still have 5 WPs left (three days to go). Not great, but also not terrible. I'm sure I missed lots of things as well, but I'm not worrying about it.
