Ruth, I think its great that your senators office got back to you - and relatively quickly too! Email them back with corrected contact info. Sounds like you are indeed going to get a stimulus check - now if only I could get my tax refund. Ha ha ha. I checked out both the gingham crochet afghan and the which way fillet- gee both are so pretty! I can see why the gingham afghan needs good color definition - it helps the pattern emerge better. Is the which way fillet pattern easy? What color are you using for it, will it be a baby afghan?
Yes its a bit alarming that covid cases are rising in some areas.....I just hope that officials in each area take the necessary steps to stem the increases in cases.
Just got a little bit more crocheting done last night, but it its getting down to the last few rows. I went to DD’s last night to have birthday cake with DGD#1. It was good to spend some time with them. Unfortunately I slept poorly last night, and now with warmer weather coming, well that will not facilitate good sleep.
DD#2 is coming over to do her laundry....its probably the last Saturday she will do this as they close on the house next Friday. Guess next weekend I will be helping out getting the house set up. BBL Ginny

Good morning Ginny and all. Ginny, congrats to your dd and sil on their new home. Hopefully the are happy with colors, etc so they can go ahead getting things put away after moving. Are you going to help with the packing of their current home too? Sorry you didn't sleep well. I hope you'll be able to get a more restful sleep tonight.
I did email the woman back. She had said that she will be in her office today but of course it's Saturday so she won't be able to do anything but look online and probably on the same place I've already looked about 25 times and always got the same results.
I'm not giving up on the gingham, just set it aside to work on the filet but will also work on the gingham a few rows a day. It got a little boring and is going to take time so I started the other just to have something easier to work on between rows of gingham. I had a couple episodes of hypoglycemia yesterday which makes my thinking go haywire so I made a lot of mistakes on the filet blanket and did a lot of ripping out.One step forward and two steps back as they say. Plus I was listening to dh and that threw me off too. I'm not sure how big I'll make this filet blanket. It's made like a granny square in a way so you can just keep going. I'm using pound of love in turquoise and dgs #4 loves "blue". I think he'll love this color. I don't think it would work out well for a baby because of all the holes but then there are no small babies in the family right now...youngest is almost 10 months old. That's the #2 great grandaughter.
CJ, I did look at the sites. I like those quilts but they aren't my absolute favorites. I looked at other ones on there and loved the flying geese.

The woman at Dr Barasso's office says that she went to the IRS site and it said the issue is that my social security number is not correct. Well I've had this SS number for 60 years and it's always been valid. She also said she's never heard of anyone who's SS# started with a zero! I bet your's also starts with a zero, Ginny and CJ.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I hope they can get things worked out for you. How do they get your social security number wrong, it's just crazy! I've always heard that the first 3 numbers correspond with the geographical area that you lived in when you got your number. Mine doesn't start with zero, but it is a low number and I've seen other people from around my area (and my age) that have the same three first numbers. I saw the Flying Geese quilt you liked. That type of design isn't my favorite, but that's what I find so interesting about quilting. There are so many designs, fabrics, styles, etc., we can all pick what appeals to us the most Ginny - Hope you enjoyed spending time with you DD and that her house closing goes well. I would really like to think about moving but I wondered if it would be difficult during this "virus" time. Those aqua fabrics came out in 2019 and include some pink and yellow fabrics in the layer cake. I have to be sure I really want to make that before ordering the layer cake since I have done and aqua and white quilt already. I may just try the pattern with a layer cake I already have. Sue - Sounds like the flowers and plants in your area are beautiful. It's been hot and humid here with some rain yesterday and maybe some today. Hope the weather in your area has been better. I finished piecing all my apple blocks - 24 total, and figured out a layout. I'll have 4 in each row and 6 rows down. I started sewing the first row together and realized I had them sewn wrong, so I had to rip out 3 seams. After that I didn't feel like continuing so I shut down my sewing machine and I'll get back to it later. I already know I want to put a smallish inner border and then a larger outer border and have the fabrics for that, so this top should go together quickly. Take care everyone and have a good day!

GOOD AFTERNOON AND HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE DAY.GOOD GRIEF I HAVE NOT POSTED SINCE THE 17TH.SHAME ON ME.
Thursday we did a quilt shop road trip.only 2 shops.Normally the hwy that would take us to Prairie Duh Chien is a straight shot form here.
they are working on the road from Stoddard to Genoa.
so we had to go over to VIRQUA to get there.we came out by the Geona dam.
from there a straight shot to PDC.what should have taken us about an hour and a half took us two or a little better.
we had lunch at Culver's in the parking lot.THEN on to the Pickett Fence.I did get Jeana's card spent.bought a creative grids cutting mat, 2 owl patterns, 2 quarter yards of butterfly fabric. one of those little so clean cleaning kits.
besides the card I bought bought about 27.00 worth of stuff.
then 30 miles to the QUILT PEDDLER IN FENNIMORE. Spent Margie's card.bought a cardinal throw kit. one more butterfly quarter yard of butterfly fabric..
this quilt shop gives you a Amish cookie when you buy some thing.the cookie looks like a honeycomb.
I would have liked to waited till OCTOBER for more fall and Christmas stuff at the Pickett Fence. Don and I both thought just go by October we do not know what where or what could be going on with the covid-19.phyl

Good afternoon! Happy Fathers Day to Don and Ruth’s Dh.
Phyl- sounds as though you had a busy But productive day of shopping. I completely agree with you regarding October- they should have a lot of fall and Christmas stuff out then, but usually the holidays crafts are staged 6 months before, so there should have been Christmas items out now- I would hope. Sorry that you had some closed roads the other day- guess they must do road repairs while the weather is good and the snow plows are not out.
CJ- gosh that is SO frustrating- and I groaned reading that you had to rip out some seams. its just so annoying and sometimes best to do just what you did- take a breather and put the machine away. Happy news that you have the fabric for the apple block quilt, so when you do get the inspiration to put it together it should all go well. I like the idea of a smaller inner border and larger outer border- I am actually figuring on doing something like that for the falling charms quilt. (Have the inner border fabric already). I am glad you got some rain- here it has been so dry. As far as moving goes, Dd and DSIL bought an empty home, so visiting it the first time was not a problem. Other homes they saw they had to wear masks. Many real estate offices are closed but the agents are still working from home. The title search for Dd and DSIL took 5 weeks- unusually long, and that was due to difficulties with offices being closed. So you are right, its an interesting time to try to buy and sell- but its still taking place, just a bit slower.
Ruth, now I am talking to a nurse here, but I hope that you are doing what you need to do to treat your hypoglycemia. Hope you are feeling better today and that it was not an issue. Fluctuations in blood sugar can really mess a person up- make you feel just awful. I know you know what is best....take good care of yourself. Gotta laugh over the SS# issue. My SS# begins with a 1, Dh’s a 0, DD #1 begins with a 1, and Ds and DD#2 both start with a 0. So I am unsure what the pattern is or the logic....but that is what it is for my family. Anyway, hope that the problem is straightened out for once and for all- and it sure seems odd that an error with your SS# has taken this long to surface. The POL turquoise is a beautiful and vibrant color.....Hope that DGS#4 loves the color!!
Got up early this am- walked Dh’s favorite trail with Dd#2. Came home- got dressed for church- still in the car, but a great service. Seems like we are getting many who are just driving by to attend and without having to enter a building to worship its easy on those who are investigating a new church. Then Dd#2 and DSIL stopped by for a bit . I tried to take some time off after they left- my friends wanted me to stop by- so I did. in a short while we are heading out for ice cream- at Dh’s favorite ice cream stand. DD#1 is struggling....she will not be joining us and I hope that she has had as good a day as she could with her family. At this point I just want to stay home, but know that the DD#2 and Ds sort of need to do this- so I will go along. Its so hot here, its tiring me.
Hope to get this baby afghan done in the next day or so.
See ya later. Hi to Sue.... Ginny

I finally got to my computer, email and now board. I hope you are all having good weather.
Ginny, my social security number is correct but they are just not recognizing it on that site. I hope the woman from Barasso's office can do something because I have no idea what to do. She sent me an email last evening asking if I could call her tomorrow. I already told her that I prefer to do business online because I can't hear but I'll call her anyway and see what she has to say. I have a few people I need to call so it will be a telephone day which reminds me that I'd better put my phone in the charger.
CJ, I feel your pain. I've had to rip rounds out in this afgan more times than I would like to admit to. I think you taking time off working on it will be a good idea and it will go better next time.
Ginny, I'm sure this is a sad day for your children. I imagine they have fond memories of Father's days in the past but that doesn't help much especially so soon.
Phyl, congratulations on your successful shopping trip.
I ended up ripping out the gingham blanket completely. I thought I could live with the mistakes but I can't. So I've been working on the which way filet and will start another gingham sometime soon. I don't like to give up on things and it's actually easy if you pay attention and count as you go instead of relying on your own visual skills to determine if you have the right number of stitches in the block.

Its super hot here, Ruth. I don’t feel well in this weather at all. Guess its no surprise that you ripped out the gingham afghan- you are a perfectionist and take great pride in your work. Yes counting is important especially with a pattern like that. (Which is one reason why I won’t take on a gingham afghan!). I am sure it will look great when you try again. Best of luck straightening out the SS# issue- I wonder what glitch is not recognizing your number correctly??? Hope its easy to get straightened out...will pray for an extra measure of patience as you have to deal with being on the phone to take care of this.
