If you can find white corn popcorn that's the best.

This next woman tried it and called pyrex:
I have tried with the pyrex lid and had trouble as it didn't "breathe" so may try it with a dish. I also wonder if a silicone lid on a corning or glass casserole would work or if the popping would dislodge the lid?

cathygeha , thanks for the links! The first one shows a picture of what my set up looks like. I hadn't seen anything online - didn't look actually - before I figured it out. I just thought that if a paper bag works, then why not a glass bowl. Glad to see that others have figured it out too. The last one - the person who called about the pyrex - she was told to offset the cover a little bit to allow the steam to escape. You could try that too. Interesting question about using a silicone lid - I don't think that the popping would be enough to dislodge it, but depending upon how it fits, you might still have the breathing issue. I'm always ok with experimenting though. If you try it, you can watch it carefully and shut the whole thing down if the popping gets out of control. Let us know.

I love my WW popcorn popper (it's like the silicone pictured above). It makes just the right amount for me!
Now if my husband makes popcorn, he does the oil in the pot method. It's still yummy but a lot of extra points!
