Setting the alarm to gently get louder and louder with the sound of soft bells. Ambient lighting to get brighter and brighter for a gentle start to wake everyone up!
Lots of caffeine ready for everyone.

My kiddo comes back today! So glad he will be here, but my hair is pulled back in a ponytail, sneakers are on and I'm in full battle mode. Ready for behaviors from a kiddo who has been MIA with no demands, no toileting, and no use of sign language. This will be a happy but long day!

Good Luck Heather. Glad your student returned but know how those disruptions of routine can impact. Stay strong!
Windy here with temps dropping.
Still feeling much better although I did need to head to bed extra early yesterday.
My scale is still liking where it has been sitting for a while. Maybe it will jump into action tomorrow for WI. I can only hope....As Charlie Brown once said, "and maybe French fries are good for you!".

Good morning, I'm running late for MGH but wanted to wave. The wind is heading our way (wasn't I just giving my thoughts about that yesterday? ) Thanks for all the props on the new photo...I'm not much of a selfie taker, but had been *challenged* on Connect, so was making the effort to not look cross-eyed or *too* old. LOL thyme2, I'll still stick with all the good behaviors paying off for you! I'm glad for you and your little guy, Heather.

Good morning everyone
So glad to hear the student will be back in school today! God Bless you and the work you do for the kids
It's windy here today as well - still warm but the temps are supposed to drop a bit with some rain on the way
Not too much going on here - my DD's are enjoying their spring break with friends
Happy hump day!

Super windy here. Great pic Kathy. I've been a little MIA. Working on some changes to make in my house. Finding it necessary to have my laundry on my living floor and not in the basement. Steep stairs, lugging laundry & COPD not a safe combo. I'm looking at stackable washer/dryers for my closet...not the kind that are 2 separate units but all one piece. I've had them before in condos & they seemed ok but now that I'm looking to buy I have yet to find one with a decent rating. I'm getting discouraged already & is just the start of a small (?) remodel. Anyone have any experience with these washer/dryer units. Would appreciate any input you might have. TIA.

Good morning! Warm and sunny day here but thankfully, not a lot of wind. I'm hoping to pick up a few plants for my front flower bed this morning after I do my weights at the gym. hpeterson1951 Good luck with the returning student. You sound well prepared. thyme2 Good luck with WI. My weight also seems "happy" where it is but it's not where I want it to be. I laughed at the Charlie Brown quote! Happy Hump Day!

Good luck Heather! LOL Beth Hi Kathy, Dina, Doordie, 100, Linda Sulli ā I had a GE for many years. I also understand the Whirlpool are good. Sustained 25 MPH winds with gusts and dropping temps may put a crimp in my lunch walk. Not up for being sand blasted!

I'm getting discouraged already & is just the start of a small (?) remodel. Anyone have any experience with these washer/dryer units. Would appreciate any input you might have. TIA. Hi, Sullicat
I remember having one of the units you describe in my condo. When it needed to be replaced, I was able to use a full-sized washer and install a wall-mounted, smaller drier above it. Same configuration and footprint, but I was able to do larger (reasonably sized) loads in the washer.
Checking Consumer Reports, I see that they havenāt rated āLaundry Centersā since 2001. At that time, Maytag made one that was rated slightly above the others (all were rated at least good (middle rating); apparently it has been discontinued. But Maytag does make a compact washer & dryer that stack to a total height of 66ā which is 6ā shorter than the original laundry center height.
Kenmoreās web site shows laundry centers plus a compact top-load washer and a couple of compact driers which, presumably, mount on the wall above the washer.
Frigidaire also makes laundry centers and the similarity of the appearance, especially the stainless steel washer drum, suggests that the Kenmore products are made by Frigidaireāwhich is pretty common from my experience.
Bosch makes compact washer/dryer pairs that get the highest ratings from Consumer Reports (800, 500 and 300 series). Kenmore rates just below Bosch. Miele is next.

Thanks Susiq & Mike. Just wish I knew what I had at previous condos but I never had to buy one so I didn't pay much attention.
Interesting Mike. I was just reading reviews on line and Kenmore was rated one of the worst (for this type) but my brother swears by Kenmore. I have space but I'm trying to maintain some semblance of storage in this closet (small walk in). I've never heard of a dryer that was wall mounted. Miele wins the prize for most original concept. They have a one unit appliance that serves as both washer & dryer. My understanding is that they make a lot,of appliances for Europeans who generally don't have all the extra space that so many Americans have. I don't know about a dryer that doesn't vent though. I'll have to stop at Barnes & Noble & check out their Consumer Reports mags, etc.

Forgot to mention...then there's the ongoing debate about top load vs front load washer. In the units that are one piece, the washers are top load. In the stackable, the washer is front load. Just another confusing element.
