I didn't see the thread so started it..
Not much news except I did see the doctor today.. he still thinks the swelling is caused by one of my blood pressure pills.. but he gave me a new diuretic that also has bp meds in it.. and cut the other one in half.. so we'll see this time. He said it might take a week for it to really get in and work. He also looked at my shoulder and said it seems like a pulled rotator cuff.. gave me some anti inflammatory cream to use on it. so hoping it works because it's very painful and I haven't been able to get comfortable while laying down. I do like this doctor because he will spend as long as he needs to with me.. not like some in the same medical group who have fifteen minutes, not one minute over.. he is patient and kind. We will have a video appt next time. in two or three weeks, then in august I will go back to see him after having lab work done.
Mac called at 5 a.m. this morning.. I had only been asleep two hours.. I do have such a time sleeping.. He asked, did you pick up my meds on the 18th.. and I guess I was so tired that I just jumped back and said, It's five o'clock in the morning and you are thinking about some meds? He said, well I can't see the clock it's too dark.. and I told him if it's too dark then it's too early.. lol I normally wouldn't talk like that but I haven't been getting enough sleep and I think that's contributing to how I feel.. Anyway told me to go back to sleep.. which for me is impossible. I lay there for almost two hours and the phone rang again.. yep. you guessed it. He did that three times.. I don't know how I'm going to get through to him that I need to sleep in the mornings. I guess he doesn't remember.. I have been like that for years now. I don't want to shut my phone off but I might have to.
I cut my hair today.. it's not very good but it feels good. I used the clippers and probably should have just used scissors like I usually do.. It was hard because I can barely raise my right arm and the left shoulder is the one I hurt.. lol not very bright of me but I did it.. Needs a bit of trimming I think. not sure when that will be done. I read the thread but have forgotten everything. I know Kathie had a rough night.. wish she could sleep better. don't want her getting sick. Rest is so very important. maybe even more that good food.
My doctor told me the coronavirus is the most contagious thing he's ever know. He says to be very careful and not miss a thing. Don't slack on the handwashing, disinfecting and masks.. That's why they are doing more virtual appointments for their protection and for the patients protection. He told me if I went out to really try to keep away from people. He told my son to make sure too many people didn't come to the house.

My sister said her Maine Coon really is letting the new kittens know who's boss and rules the roost! She said she's heard growls coming from him that she's never heard before. But the chihuahua tried to boss one of the kittens and it stood straight up, arched it's back, hissed and walked sideways towards her so Lola decided to steer clear of him. So sounds like they are learning the ground rules.
As for my niece I need to explain a little. She divorced her husband a few years ago and it was not a nice divorce. He had the money to get a good lawyer and she had been dependent on him except for the little she made working in a hair salon as a stylist. So first he was able to get out of paying any alimony. Then he had a good job and a nice house all of which she did not and all she was able to afford was a one bedroom apartment. His lawyer was able to show she could not financially support the kids even with the small amount of child support she was granted. So even though she had child support she was not given custody as to get custody each child has to have their own bedroom and no way could she afford a three bedroom apartment in California. So she was given visiting rights. Of course at times her ex would not allow her to see them claiming he had plans with them. By being with him he bad talked her so the kids did not want to be with her at all. So then she started buying them anything they wanted just to have them spend time with her. She figured the other day she spends $1400 every month on them. Money she can't afford. She said that will stop immediately as it dawned on her she was buying their time and she's done with it. So now her daughter is a high school graduate and her son is a high school freshman and they spend as little time as possible with her but with her at my sister's they might want to see her more. He's a lot like Jeff in that he's a control freak, but he does work and his kids do love him unlike Maija with Jeff.
Debbie now has two people coming to see the house today so we decided to wait until next week to have her realtor friend come. One family has a son entering high school and they want to move to the school district she lives in and the other is looking for a place for her parents and wants someplace not really huge. The only problem with the one looking for her parents is the washer/dryer is in the basement. So we'll see how these two appointments go.
Fred is golfing at 7 this morning and I will do my ironing. Got groceries yesterday and fixed my chicken with green beans, mushroom soup and ore-Ida crispy crowns on top. Such an easy dish and so good! I put chicken in a baking dish, put green beans around the side, spread the soup on top and then arrange the crispy crowns on it. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to an hour. You do have to season the chicken first as I forgot to do that so it was bland but still very good!

Good Morning Hooray for Summer Friends,
We have a beautiful sunny morning, 61* and going up to 86* and sunny today. As for as I know there are no special plans for today, so we'll just wait and see what comes up. I'm sure for me it is another stay at home day.
Wednesday June 24: Aunty Acid: If you can't handle me at my worst then I completely understand...because I can't either.
I've been up long enough since I took my early medicine that I can have my breakfast now, so I'll have some Cheerios and milk and a cup of coffee to start my day.
Have a great day everyone.

Hi!
We woke up to 65º this morning, as we went out for our waffle. We really do enjoy having this time out to mark the middle of each week. It helps us get going, instead of slumping. Since it is to go up to 90º or so today, it was lovely to take our stroll through the complex.
I took an Aleve this morning, so I hope the back will feel better. It seems to take about a week for me to recover from an incident like this. Right now, it feels okay sitting here at the computer, but I won't sit too long. I plan to make the round of our apartment every hour.
Today, I'll try to give the back enough movement and enough rest. Those are my goals. It seems that standing hurts the most. Well, and getting up. Jenny, why do you not want to turn your phone calls off for the hours you need to sleep? Is there someway you could set it to only receive calls from the nurse's station, if that is your concern? I really don't know much about the tech phones, but I do know that lack of needed sleep is bad. Lucy, it sounds like you made an excellent decision about the name. Gives us the chance to choose a name within both categories. Sandy, Debbie is getting a lot of interest in the house. That's good. It will happen. Will Maija be able to go to school "in person?" Hi, Doris! Now, I'll take a little walk through the apartment and come back to check Ancestry. You got it -- I'm hooked! Be happy today! Diane

Diane my understanding is that yes Maija will be going to classes in person.
I was telling my DDIL this morning how much I hate wearing the masks but will as it is required and then in the mail this morning both Fred and I received two masks from Humana!

No excuses, I just plain forgot. Got up off couch and went right to bed. Sorry but I was really tired.
I did sleep well and phone didn't wake me but the text message alert did. My pharmacy and I must have been the first text of the day. I did have to call them as there are more scripts I need filled right now. Most of my pills are all at the same time. He said all would be ready this afternoon but I told him I would be in tomorrow.
It is a lovely day, cool but sun is out most of the time. I will call about getting my lawn mowed now. It is nice and green from the rain and looks so healthy. even the new grass. Not a pool day but thinking finally on Friday. First time. DGD will join me if she can. Going to let me know later on. My DD's day off too. Looks like a perfect day. in the 80's on friday and no clouds or rain in forecast.
Seems like a lot of us are missing sleep these days. Hope everyone with new aches and pains feels better soon. that is one thing I don't have right now is aches and pains. Even the knee is giving me no problems.
Sandy that is so sad about your Niece. Seems like some states are not as pro Mom as some states are. Usually when the kids get to be highschool age they start realizing that one parent or the other is telling lies and finally get it. So sorry that hasn't happened for your niece. Can't buy love they just want more "things" and more cash. Hope that soon they can be close.
I trimmed my hair this morning , just with my beautician scissors, It was too long over the ear so trimmed that and also tackled the long side in the back. Looks good now but not sure how it will be after a wash!! If too bad will call my beautician for a quick visit. I am at the point that it can't be too short!!! Loving the almost wash and go !!
My Mary Kay lady sent me a post card on a big push for some business. I do online all the time anyway but appreciate the money off too. I remember when MJ sold Mary Kay, Doris. their products are the only ones that don't make my cheeks redder than they usually are. Really time for a little tan, and yes I do use sun block, On my face for sure all the time.
hope I can think of a name. I am blocked for some reason. Not an idea in my brain this morning.
Sandy, I ordered some cute masks from Etsy. If you are going to have to wear masks they may as well be pretty.!! So far they have been nice. My friend and DD#2 thought so too, I gave them both one. My DD#1 has to wear the medical ones as she works in Dr office. She said she does have a fancy one just in case. She believes like I do. Be prepared but be cute!! Did not like the one I got from the give away in town, they were too big for my face. Kept getting in my eyes and you are now supposed to put your hands on them wearing them and I was constantly pulling it down. So only have it as an emergency in the car in case I lose one while out and about. that happened to my friend the other day and text to see if I had an extra one and gave her one to keep too.

Good morning, friends!
Jenny, what happened to your shoulder? I know that you told me that Mac will become frantic if you don't answer his calls, but you really do need to research ways for callers to receive the message that you are sleeping and have your phone turned down. ("I'm sorry, I'm sleeping now and have the phone put on hold. Please leave your name and phone number, and I will return your call. Thank you for understanding!") You will be able to select numbers that you want to ring and wake you (the rehab center numbers, your son, and others), and confidently turn on the "do not disturb" and go to sleep. If Mac becomes angry, the staff at the rehab center will calm him -- that's their job.
Diane, what happened that you are having to keep walking to keep going? It's a good plan to walk around the apartment every hour.
Lucy, great name for July -- very diplomatic choice. Hope they can fix the AC in your pickup. (We have to have Big Red's looked at as well.)
Connie, I hope your hair does as you want it. LOL! I can't believe you and Jenny both cut your own hair on the same day! Please tell me how to find the neat masks on Etsy -- I have an account, but if they are quality, one never knows until they arrive!
Sandy, great story about the new pets and how they are getting along at your sister's house. Sad for your niece.
Yesterday morning, DH and I left home about 11 a.m. to meet our son and his family in Weston, MO, to get our Big Red (our full-size Chevy van age 19 and counting). The younger generation had used it to transport some of their belongings to their home near Omaha when they returned from Germany . . . then the virus hit, and DS was only allowed to travel 75 miles from base. Finally, the van had to be inspected and licensed, so it had to come home. DS was allowed to travel 200 miles from base this week, as well.
Weston has a shop that sells Polish Pottery -- the same designs that we purchased in Germany. The weather was perfect, we ate at the Tin Kitchen, and it was delicious. I had an apple tart (?). I'm going to try to describe it, but don't know its name! It was, of course, heavy with cinnamon and sugar throughout. A whole Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, and sliced into slinky-like layers. The core area was filled with cinnamon mixture, and the whole apple was wrapped in a cinnamon/sugar infused dough wrap. I'm sure there was quite a bit of butter involved as well. It was like a baseball-shaped apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Fantastic! The weather was perfect, and we will probably return earlier in the day, sometime, to look around more. It's on the Missouri River south of St. Joseph. Small, but historical, and on Lewis & Clark trail.
DH drove Big Red home, and I drove the Odyssey. He wanted me to go in front, because I knew how to follow Miss Google's directions through KC. I lost him. Didn't find him again until we reached the 59 mile marker on I-70 (Concordia). But we both made it. Reached home base about 9:30 p.m. and slept like logs until 9:15 this morning!
I'd better have my . . . brunch! LOL! BBL! ~~Molly

Hi all!
Just a quick check in before starting the day.
Jenn, thanks for starting us off. Sorry about Mac calling so early and disturbing your sleep. I agree, if you have an Apple you can shut off the phone at night. If you have an android then maybe some here can help you out. Prayers continue for both of you. Jenn, I hope you have just a pulled rotator cuff and that it doesn't have to be repaired. I know how painful they can be and you really don't need to have to deal with rotator cuff repair at this time.
Connie, I don't have anyone who is knowledgeable enough about these newer vehicles, so I depend on my dealer to treat me well and be honest with me and thus far they have since I've owned the car, plus they have my car's history. We do have two systems administrator in the family tho to help us out with the laptops/computers/ipads/iphones.
I need a trip, I want to go somewhere. Need suggestions and who or what to visit. Help!
Gotta get ready to head out, but have a wonderful day and may you all have something that makes you smile and fills your heart with joy; it doesn't have to be anything big or planned, usually the small unplanned brings us the greatest joy. Remember, your day is only as good as you make it so make it a great one!

Linda, I'm surprised that someone who lives in Denver is asking about "a place to go"! Go to Colorado Springs and take the Cog Wheel Railway up to Pike's Peak and sit on a rock for a while! Drive down to Garden of the Gods! Stand on the bridge at Royal Gorge or ride the cable car. Visit a gold mine and pan for gold. Take one of those train trips that has such wonderful views. Check out the painting of "The Face on the Bar Room Floor."
I know. Even with all this time, it's limited. So many things I want to do "when I have time," but everything seems to take more time than I have. LOL! That's how I got into this kitchen mess, and the writing course, and I actually almost ordered a language course in French or Spanish.
Diane, I took 1/4 of that pill, and I slept 11 hours and still am ready to nap. Hope you find something really neat on Ancestry today!
Connie, I've looked at some of the face-mask sites on Etsy. The prices are high. DD drew a handlebar mustache on hers, and she gets a lot of smiles as she walks around. I know I should sew my own, but it would be MUCH easier to order -- hmm. Wonder how they get the faces of the animals? Must be a certain fabric print. If I could find one like the one on TV that opens into a laugh, I'd buy it in a minute!

The garage called to tell me what was needed and get the go ahead. I should have my truck back before the end of the day. My neighbor will take me to get it.
Jenny, go to your settings and you should be able to silence your phone at night.
My doctor wasn't pleased with the cloth mask I wore the other day. She said the disposable ones are better. She agreed Bill is ok with the N95 because of his lungs.
