Let's do a daily post with just ONE THING we are grateful for. With everything that is going on, sometimes it is hard to remember to focus on the good things too. It can be funny, silly, serious, whatever, no judgements here. Wikipedia (comes in handy with diva49 around π€£)

I have missed a few of these so I have more than one thing. A cool enough morning to walk (or in my case stroll) 1 1/2 mile before my pain and torture session and for good therapists who know how hard to push me. Also for diva49 for brightening my day with flowers and plants I have never heard of and for DebDoesWW for explaining what we call them in the south π

when my girls started becoming more aware of the concept of death (around 4 years old), they frequently started asking when i would die because they started fearing it would happen too soon. i always told them not til i'm 100 (to make them feel more at ease that we had a long time til then) but then internally i started freaking out too and would start to wonder at what age CAN i die and know that my girls are ok and don't need their mommy in that way anymore. i came to the conclusion that if i can make it through til they are at least 25 years old, i can go anytime after that and know they are fine and independent.
so i completely get the appreciation to have another day as we get older! thankful for each day i get with them!

My mom!
My parents were divorced when I was 7 years old, 75 years ago, she raised three kids and made sure we all had a college degree as she only had a high school education, she sacrificed so much for her kids! Her life was very hard, that's why I chose her today.
Fin, your post brought this memory back as we wondered what would happen to us many days when she raised us.
Our son has a will as to what will happen with our grand daughter, thankful for that as she's adopted!

mac, i love your story about your mom! my parents are still together but neither has more than a HS diploma so especially to my mom, it was all the more important and non-negotiable that i go to college and get a degree. in retrospect i actually wish i'd gone even further (and gotten a law degree or PhD in one of the sciences, but most likely i wish i'd gone to law school). in any case, thanks to their support (and their money!) i was able to go debt-free and live a comfortable life today that provides well for my kids!

Hey Fin, Not too late to add a class here and there and becomne that great lawyer that you would be!
I find now that I am 80, I want to live long enough to see my grandchildren "become what they will be" - ages 30, 28, 25, 23, 21 Truth is the pain in thinking about dying is leaving those you love! Marie
