On our governor's briefing yesterday they showed a map with those states who require masks next to a map of states who are ready, or almost ready, to open up. The correlation was amazing. I'm hoping I can find that map.

finally! they need to actually just mandate stay at home orders all around! allow people to collect their rightfully due pandemic unemployment stipends and do the responsible thing. be responsible leaders even when the top is not. just do it.

Would have been better to have closed the barn doors BEFORE the horses got out.

Would have been better to have closed the barn doors BEFORE the horses got out. Those horses have swum across the ocean and are now roaming around Europe since they had so much of a head start.

Would have been better to have closed the barn doors BEFORE the horses got out. you would think! but then again they wouldn't have been able to pander to their base as well. they care more about pleasing them than they do about saving lives.

I'm at the salon my client just said, isn't it interesting that we have all these surges in cases and no one is mentioning the protesters?

I'm at the salon my client just said, isn't it interesting that we have all these surges in cases and no one is mentioning the protesters? Yeah, well. Plenty of people are mentioning the protestors, Memorial Day beachfests and BBQ's, etc, etc, etc. If someone is more interested in finding someone to blame I guess they can spend their time doing that. I saw a LOT more masks on protestors than I saw on the Memorial Day revellers and the people whooping it up in bars. Or the people in my own neighborhood who got together for Mother's Day, Memorial Day, and beyond. At this point NO ONE should be going out without a damn mask. It may seem harsh but honestly, I have to question a person's basic intelligence when I see them without a mask in public. All the evidence proving their effectiveness is out there. They are not making a statement about their "freedom"---they're showing the world how clueless they are.

I agree but you have to remember who our Covidiot in charge is in Texas.Shutdown will be a last measure according to them. Starting Monday restaurants go back to 50% occupancy. We did go to a convenience store today and they had their sign back up that said face coverings required and yes everyone was wearing one.Now if HEB and Walmart would follow along that would help in our town anyway. One restaurant already decided yesterday they would go back to curbside and delivery only.Maybe a few people actually get this is serious.

I'm at the salon my client just said, isn't it interesting that we have all these surges in cases and no one is mentioning the protesters? time will tell but so far does not seem like the protests are causing a spike. rather it's everyone thinking they can go back to the bars and the gyms and the parties and not wear a mask while simultaneously not social-distancing when doing all those things that seems to be causing the spike. i'd venture to say it more seems to be the party-goers at social activities than it is the protesters, who largely collectively wear masks, though of course not all of them do. i saw a picture of a water park taken this week in new braunfels where people were in line for the lazy river and no one had a mask (it wasn't required) and no one was keeping their distance. of course, they are outside, and about to get in a chlorinated pool. still, no masks. and as becky pointed out, she isn't seeing masks being worn in her local walmart or HEB. komonews.com/news/local/fewer-than-1-of-seattle-protesters-test-positive-for-coronaviruswww.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/black-lives-matter-protests-haven-t-led-covid-19-spikes-n1232045
