Just a bit of silliness: I was giving DH crap for disinfecting the scissors he used to cut open an Amazon package. My personal opinion is surface transmission not a high risk. Other opinions are fine; everyone has to do what they are comfortable with. It was just an opportunity to jerk Mr. Lani's chain. He said "I don't want to court trouble." I said, "you married me, didn't you?" Laughter ensued.

I want to yell "Hey you---lady on the left---UP OVER THE NOSE!" Circa 1918: I am so feeling this right now! Every.Single.Person I have nicely motioned to to please pull up their masks has either given me a bitch face, or they've outright told me they dont have to wear a mask. What is WRONG with people. It shouldn't be about political affiliation, though that's what it's been driven to, it should be about wanting everyone to be safe and healthy, shouldn't it? I saw a great meme the other day, it said something to the effect of: Every problem that's been politicized today can be reduced to: "I don't know how to make you care about other people." It really hit me that this is so true. Every issue this country faces right now: environmental, health, social, education, poverty, etc. can all be solved if only everyone cared about other people.

"I don't know how to make you care about other people." Yep. Not only caring about strangers but yourself and your loved ones. We can't make others care. I don't know, perhaps a personal tragedy will make them feel differently but I have seen people claim to have had friends and family who got the virus and they STILL feel they should be allowed to decide for themselves whether or not to wear a mask. Frankly I kinda doubt that they had really seen a devastating COVID case up close and personal and might just be tossing it out in a FB post to make their views seem more knowledgeable or powerful. Idiots abound. I hate to sound like a broken record but dammit, save yourself. I just unfollowed two family members and a longtime friend over what they posted this weekend---big gatherings, photo ops with 15-20 people crammed together for the pics. "Say CHEESE." I don't want to subject myself to seeing this crap anymore. There are forums that I no longer visit and I've left some groups too. Turned off notifications. So DONE. Three posts on my FB feed this weekend asking for prayers for newly diagnosed family members of friends. Two of them posting GoFundMe requests. Two men in their thirties, one an older man. Two in Texas, one in Florida. If I see or hear about even one more happy little get-together I think I will punch out my laptop. Carry on.

Some yayhoo wrote in to my local paper with the old stale claim that masks are useless because the virus particles are so small, they pass right through, blah, blah. The virus travels via respiratory droplets, even aerosol transmission isn't the virus all by itself, it has to hitch a ride on our exhalations, which masks are capable of containing. I'm so tired of these ignorant people.
It is a point that single layer bandana type face coverings are the least effective at stopping aerosol transmission, but still better than nothing.

m.youtube.com/watch?v=VMay7ns86nIWell apparently this person’s shopping habits during covid turned her into a 3 year old temper tantrum throwing brat. An elderly at risk one at that. What is wrong with this person.

What is wrong with this person. That woman is a complete and utter idiot. Selfish, entitled, bratty, everything that is wrong with America. She ought to be ashamed of herself and yet I'm sure she still feels indignant about it. I just don't know how COSTCO employees were so kind to her because watching that, I wanted to kick her to the curb.

seriously! i was amazed at how good they were at not losing their shit! i would have been telling her she had to leave immediately and call security to come escort her out. not asking her if she wanted a chair outside! which i get that the employee was just trying to get her outside. i hope she gets on the black ball list and is not allowed to come back until there is a vaccine. the way she's going about her business she may not make it through this pandemic at her age.
there was also a spoiled brat (but i suspect mental illness was playing a role too) at a target in scottsdale, AZ. she started tearing every mask off a display. i don't know the logistics or timeline of what went down after that video, but later that day the cops showed up at her house to question her. she had it on IG live and started telling the cops she works for DT under a covert op and in the end when they arrested her she started screaming that they were only arresting her because she's jewish.

I know I'm overdoing it but I'm doing the same thing as your DH Like I said, whatever one is comfortable with. We are all trying to stay safe and keep anxiety at bay. I continue to see reports that surface transmission is not that much of a concern, but it certainly can't hurt to keep surfaces disinfected.

And in local news (Albuquerque) a man went into a pet food store with his gun on hip. Unfortunately New Mexico is open carry. The clerk told him he needed to wear a mask. The man put his hand on his gun and said "Are you sure you want to tell me I have to wear a mask". This "discussion" went on for a short period and the man eventually left. The clerk called 911. Supposedly they have referred it to a special agency for investigation. Disgusted.

that is the saddest part with some people and their guns. not to turn this into a gun convo but it certainly does embolden some people to act like they can do whatever they want because they know they can threaten to shoot someone and play dirty harry movie guy. it's so gross.
