i know, i'm so thankful to only have to wear one the once a week, if that, that i go to the store! good for you guys for declining a party invite! parties are exactly the kind of thing where a lot of people are spreading the virus. We usually have a big party for the 4th of July. Not this year. And not one of our friends asked if we were having one. Either they already figured we weren't, or they weren't planning on coming even if we had one.

Remember that 4th of July party we did not go to?
The text we got was: (there was to be a golf fundraiser July 11th for scarcoma)
Hey guys- bad news- one of our family friends that was around the majority of us this weekend tested positive for COVID so we are going to cancel the outing- we don’t want to take any chances and are having anyone that was around her self quarantine for 14 days. I will be sending you back your money! We will be rescheduling the outing to next year! Sorry again but want to make everyone’s safe and health the priority!

the family friend who tested positive would have been at that party, correct? if said family friend was "around the majority of us this weekend" and "this weekend" being 4th of july weekend?

Jennifer, I read your post to my husband He said and she (you) doesn't have that problem because she was smart enough to stay home.

Jennifer, I read your post to my husband He said and she (you) doesn't have that problem because she was smart enough to stay home. They asked me 3 times, "are you coming over on the 4th?" My answer was the same each time, "I appreciate the invitation but I do not feel comfortable going to a party now" There were 2 events with this same group. 1 a 4th of july party 2 a fundraiser for cancer at a golf course. As it stands, everyone at the 4th of july party was exposed. The fundraiser is canceled. My gut and common sense said.. don't go. Let's all just stay home this year, ok ?

did anyone at the party wear masks? not that you'd know by being there, of course, but just curious what the attendees had to say.

This is just my opinion but I wonder how many of the attendees are going to self-quarantine. How many people are set up to not go out of their house for two weeks? I know it can be done I'm just being cynical.

bbbearsmomI wonder too, actually, I wonder how many people would or how many can stay home for 14 days.

I just read this...facts about masks changing all the time. I think I feel the safest wearing N95s. My SO has a box he bought a few years ago because he was painting with chemicals, we plan on wearing those in high risk situations - although, we don't intend on being in too many high risk situations. I've worn one a few times, once to try it on, another going down to my condo lobby, and the last time when my nephew came to use my printer. We each have 2 layer cloth masks given to us by our friends, with an opening for pm2.5 filters (which we bought on amazon). That is really hard to wear, it fits tight and more difficult to breathe through. www.msn.com/en-us/health/medical/face-masks-really-do-matter-the-scientific-evidence-is-growing/ar-BB16UgyR?li=BBnb7Kz

Now that we are in this for the better part of the year .. are there N95 masks out there for the average person to buy? I have been wearing my cloth ones but would like to have some N95s if possible.
Anyone have any info on them?
