CJ, I love watching the video. I didn't really like her choices of color with that red/green fabric but we'll see how it all works together when she's done I'm sure.
Rene,I'm happy to hear that you're able to practice all the functions on your machine. In all the machines I've had I've never used anywhere near all their capabilities
Phyl, I hope the ultra sound goes well and results are good. I will be praying.
Ginny, I bet you're having another busy day. Sorry you missed the meteor. I only heard a brief mention of it and didn't know it would be visible last night.

Ruth - There are a lot of pretty quilts being done in this pattern. They are mostly posted on the Quilt Along with Pat Sloan Facebook, but it's so irritating scrolling through all the posts just to see the Jelly Snowflake blocks. This one is really pretty and just done in 2 colors, with some added machine embroidery. This one would be pretty just finished like this, so I can't wait to see it once the last blocks are added next week. Hope everyone is doing well today

I LOVE THE RED AND WHITE QUILT.THINK SHE USED THE SAME RED SNOW FLAKE FABRIC AS I AM USING.
I bought new snow flake fabric at hobby lobby. almost looks like what she is using.I also bought the red buffalo snowflake fabric. not sure what I will do with that one.not sure the two reds will go together.
I BETTER GET DONE STAIRS AND START SEWING.PHYL

CJ, than you for posting that one. It's beautiful too even though it's not yours. I did go to one of her facebook pages and looked at a bunch of quilts. Also saw people discussing how much to charge people to make one for them. It's interesting.
Well I got Sid's eyeballs and nose sewn on. That's about all the sewing on of parts I can handle for one day so tomorrow he will get either arms or legs and maybe even both...the things we do for our grandchildren!
I don't remember if I mentioned that I had to go out on an errand yesterday and again no one had masks but now all the stores here have made it mandatory and will not let you in if you don't have a mask.
Neighbor brought over food again yesterday. I know my dh is not going to eat it because he doesn't like to eat food made by other people. It looks delicious though so I'm going to have some. It's a cooked chicken which looks like a fajita mix and he also had put a orange bell pepper, an onlon and several heads of garlic in the bag and an orange. He must have had a lot of garlic at his house because I think he gave us five. I don't know what I'll do with five garlics. We do like garlic but all that fresh garlic presents a challenge.
I started a crystal wave blanket last night and will work on that for the rest of the day. I want to make one more doll and a baby yoda...a woman in one of the crochet groups was all over another woman for calling him baby yoda. She said it's one of her pet peeves that people call him baby yoda instead of The Child. Too much time on her hands I guess. Anyway, my ds is a STar Wars fan so I'm making that and a baby yoda ornament for the Christmas tree and also a baby yoda cup cozy for him for his birthday. They also have a pattern for a "pod" for the baby so I'm going to use that and make it bigger to fit dggd's doll.

Good morning- Well I have learned to post in the am before my day gets too busy.
Ruth- its sweet of your neighbor to bring food over, but I kind of get it with regard to what is in something. (I admit to having trouble with things like 7 layer taco dips where I cannot even begin to distinguish what is in it). Did your neighbor grow the garlic? It does keep fairly well, I wonder if you diced it if it could be frozen. Cannot believe that someone is actually getting upset over baby yoda or the child or whatever. It sure does not sound like a big deal to me, and there are much bigger fish to fry in this world. Ok I had to go online to see what a crystal wave afghan is- so pretty and it seems that is another C2c afghan. What color scheme are you using for that? Are you using some of that new Herrscheners yarn?
Phyl- glad the lump seems to be going down and again, hoping and praying for good test results. Did you get anything else at HL? I was shocked when I was there 2 weeks ago to see that they had some Christmas decor out. Seems a bit early.....but then we lost most of our spring and were at home. This year has a different feel to it.
CJ- so glad you have this figured out-posting pictures of your projects online! Thanks for the instructions , I will check it out later on and see if I can accomplish the same thing. I use an. iPad- not sure if the process is going to be exactly the same but I am sure there is a similar process. That video was great- I have never used a small roller like that to press out seams at the machine- what a time saver.
Rene- hope you will give that blouse pattern a try! I am glad that you found good sources for help with your new brother. I know that a new machine is such a challenge until you start to master the particulars. Did that sewing mastery web site have any videos that helped?? I know they had only limited Brother videos. Will that blouse be your first garment (masks donβt count!) that you make for yourself?
Hey Sue- hope yesterday was a good day....
Got some errands to run this am. Hope to be home by late morning and then get back to that quilt binding. I am enjoying the cool weather...which ends today and summer heat returns. DD stopped over yesterday (unexpected) so that kept me busy. I also got some yard work done yesterday- not a ton but some trimming and clearing up that was needed. (My yard still needs a lot of work). Hope each of you has a great day Ginny

the tool is Lori Holt quick press seam roller. have to go to keepsake quilting or the fat quarter shop to order one. about 16.00.
also the fat quarter shop has those design boards in different sizes. think I will order one in 14 or 16 inch size. that way it will be big enough to hold 12 1/2 inch block layout. phyl

Ginny, how is your garden doing? No my neighbor doesn't grow garlic. I think he got this from yet another neighbor. The crystal wave I'm doing isn't a c2c. I thought I'd try it in rows first. I found it to be extremely easy. This one I do think I could do with my eyes closed. I have to look it up now in c2c.In doing it in rows it still looks like a c2c though. It still has blocks. I'm using pound of love. Meg mentioned awhile ago about the creamsicle color so I had bought some back them and I'm using it on this blanket. it will have a border though with a lot of white to offset the mass of creamsicle color.Speaking of gardens, the lettuce I grew inside in a pot did ok but as I suspected there was only enough for one salad. and I planted those tomato seeds in April, put them outside at the end of May and left two indoors. Well the indoor ones are about 4 feet high but the ones outdoors are only about one foot. They all have blossoms though.
PHyl, I saw her using that roller. It does look interesting. Now the design board she used was nice but it was distracting in her video. She could have just put her pieces on her mat which was right there and they would have been easier to see.
It was a little cooler here the last couple days but it's already much hotter today and it's not to the hottest part of the day yet.
Rene, years ago I made some garments. A dress for myself, one for my sister and a few things for my dd and I also made a shirt for one of my nephews because I was taking a class on making things with knit fabric so I made him a rugby shirt. It was small since he was only about 2 or 3 then. I also made my three grandaughters their dresses for my daughter's wedding to her present husband.I made them all with that machine I just replaced that went wonky all the time but thankfully it worked fine during that time. I sent lots of prayers of thanks. The fabric was a satiny fabric and the skirts on two of them were a full circle.I really loved the little dress for the then 4 year old. I still have the pattern. I had plans to make the grandchildren lots of things and had a huge pattern collection but I never got to making most of them and donated them all to GW except for a few craft patterns.I also made some scrubs for work ( I was a nurse)

Phyl- thanks for checking out the roller for me....I think it would be great with that jelly roll snowflake quilt, perfect with small, square pieces. I wonder if a wallpaper seam roller ( looks the same and is about $5). Its a great idea...I might invest in one. Did you buy anything from MSQ in the notions sale today?
Rene- well then it sounds like its time for you to make something for yourself, like a blouse! I hope you do take that project on.
Ruth, my garden??? The woodchuck seems to love it and ate all my lettuce and peas. Somehow it left the green beans alone, along with the potato plants and my tomato plant. ( got a few tomatoes on, just waiting for them to ripen). I did pick some potatoes - will actually dig up more tomorrow. I am impressed at how well they seem to be doing. For now, I am glad you are working on an easier pattern. Its just less stressful....and makes for a nice break. The creamsickle color sounds so pretty and refreshing. It must work up great in an afghan.
Got my errands done this am. I did actually get the quilt binding all sewn and ironed, and now its clipped in place to the quilt. Tomorrow I will start the process of sewing it on.Hard to believe that the quilt is almost done.
Have a good night all Ginny

GOOD MORNING, TRIED TO POST HERE 3 TIMES YESTERDAY AND KEPT LOSING THE POSTS.GGGGRRRRR
RUTH sometimes quilters cut in a different spot and sometimes need to carry the pieces back to the machine areas. I know the mat was there. they may have used another spot for the video depending on how much room was needed to cut. you know they want backgrounds to look nice/clean in the videos also.
I have a small mat by my machine it is ok for trimming but for something bigger I have to go to my cutting table I have used baking tins we buy at the dollar store etc.
OH HECK! I could have my mister fix it guy make me one.mmmmm!
ok. the result are in. not what we wanted to hear so far.my thyroid has several nodules. so Monday back to the lab, lab,lb.(I SHOULD JUST MOVE IN. ) for as many times I have been there the past couple of weeks including the clinic. area.
Wednesday I will see the ENDOCRINOLOGIST.(gosh it took me long me enough to learn to spell oncologist) now this big word.DR.SHORT will decide if they need to do the biopsy. hope they do. might say just do it.
no I am not surprise hobby lobby is putting out fall and and CHRISTMAS stuff. Delona and I noticed a few years ago they started doing it before the 4th was over.now days it seems stores have everything out by October.
I only bought fabric at h.l.the other day. I did not order from MSQC. Phyl

Hello Crafters Phyl - Sorry to hear about the test results. I hope they can do a biopsy for you, if they think you need it. That red snowflake fabric you said you have sounds pretty and would look pretty in the Jelly Snowflake quilt. Ginny - I'm sorry you lost your peas and lettuce, but glad you still have the beans and potatoes and hopefully some tomatoes too. Ruth - That's nice of your neighbor to bring food over to you. Sounds like your new project is interesting. Rene - Hope your garment making is coming along well. Sue and Meg - Hope you are getting some crafting done. It's been hot here, so I'm staying in as much as possible. I did go out on Thursday and went to JoAnn Fabrics and Target. I found the Best Press starch I was looking for (gallon size) and some white thread. I almost thought the store was closed since I got there when they first opened and there was no one in the parking lot, so I was the first customer. I wonder if more people are just shopping online. I finished all my Block 3 pieces of both of the Jelly Snowflake quilts, so now I'm ready for the last clue (block) next week. I can see the snowflake design in many of the quilters who are posting their finished blocks. I kind of wish I know what that plan was for the layout so I could have moved a few of my fabrics around, but I guess hat's the problem with mystery quilts - you take a risk on what they'll look like at the end. I also pressed and starched, and then cut out, the fabrics for another quilt kit that I had bought many years ago. It wasn't an actual kit but I bought the fabrics and pattern. I can't remember what size of the quilt I made (and there were 5 choices), but I measured what fabric I had and figured out I could make a lap quilt. There are only 3 fabrics in this quilt and one of them I just only had enough of the fabric I needed with a one inch strip of fabric left Take care everyone and stay cool and well

Phyl- prayers for good results on the biopsy.....my gf has had thyroid issues - good results from a biopsy.....glad you are getting yours checked out.
Rene- are you playing with fabric today???
CJ- do I dare ask what Joanns gets for a gallon of Best Press??
And Phyl thanks for the input on making our own design board. Might give that a try in the fall
I weeded the garden a little bit this am. Got tomatoes and green beans on- and the potatoes are under the ground. A few carrots too- lousy germination.
Its hot here. Dd and her cat are staying here tonight - DSIL is at a bachelor party and I have airconditioning. Might as well be comfortable. Its too hot.
Hope to at least get my bobbins filled for attaching the binding. Hi to Sue and Ruth. Ginny
