Retirement. 6 years in and every day since still feels like a gift.

DebDoesWW, I remember those from childhood. I love chocolate covered or chocolate dipped cookies. They are usually on trays of cookies at holiday time. If I'm at an event with them I can have some but them I have to move across the room or I will eat all of them on the tray.

neen, They do sound good. I've been having cravings for a piece of cake from a particular bakery since about mid-June. I was by the bakery this morning and didn't get it. First of all the craving was starting to fade and I want to eat it out while having some good coffee but I'm not going to do that with the virus out there. For some reason sitting at home eating it doesn't appeal to me.

the fancy supermarket near my ex husband's place has third party bakery within the store. that bakery sells sugar free items so i was thinking of getting some. when i bake sugar free goodies myself i end up eating the whole batch in a day or two.

finreporter, Might not be a good idea. What you said is one thing that keeps me from having sweets in the house. I might be good for a day or two but by the third day I'm eating all that is left. One time before WW my husband brought home some cookies he wanted to try. He waited days if not a whole to try them. When he couldn't find them he asked me what happened to them. I explained I ate them and probably something about it isn't natural to wait days to try some cookies you brought home. I have some Kashi snack bars in the house but I'm fine with them. A year or so ago there was a strike at the chain grocery store I go to. I ended up shopping at another chain across town. They had a flavor of the snack bars I never had tried. They were a mistake. Had to have one everyday until they were gone. Thankfully I had enough sense to not buy a second box, and I don't usually go out to get food I crave.

i can do the bakery items only because it's single servings. it's multiple servings that gets me into trouble!
i don't like any of the cereal or fiber bars and and can have those in the house (on the rare occasion i buy the trader joe's versions, usually for the girls) but the WW snack bars you could buy at meeting centers, those i could not have! one flavor in particular (peanut butter pretzel bars covered in chocolate). i could eat the whole box in one sitting.

(peanut butter pretzel bars covered in chocolate). i could eat the whole box in one sitting. Those are so small, it's hard to believe that each one is considered one serving. Which is why I joined WW in 2011; my idea of a serving size was way off.

linda, me too! my idea of a serving size was what olive garden told me was a serving size. a huge vat of pasta (unlimited at that), unlimited amount of breadsticks, and basically never ending everything. all the chain restaurants serve way too much food.
