i loved this video! i saw it a few weeks ago and thought it was very eye opening. i told my girls about it as well. those who dispute this clear evidence are being either intentionally obtuse or are genuinely obtuse.

DotRen - Thanks for sharing that video, it is eye opening. QUESTION - Has anyone mail ordered masks like the doctor is wearing (the basic medical type blue ones)? If so, could you share the name of the ones you bought? I have masks I've made myself but I'd like to get some of these blue ones too. Thanks

Thank you DotRen.
Can I ask if they had any "smell" to them? I get migraines from many scents and I've read some people have bought these types of masks and they had a strong smell to them.

Not that I noticed, and I'm pretty sensitive to chemicals and things. If there is any, it's very slight and you could probably open the packet (they come in 10 to a pack inside the box) and let them air out for a day or so.

I have also been using the blue disposable masks. The instructions say they are good for 4 hours wear. I like the flexible top strip that you can mold to your nose. I feel like a fair amount of air can escape out the sides, but it's better than nothing. The cloth ones are tough to breeze in. One thing that bugs me, when they do the mask tests comparing the various types, they never include these disposable ones. How come?
I am so lucky that I only have to mask up twice a week - only an hour or so for grocery shopping, and a few minutes for takeout food pickup.

the cloth ones are indeed hot and feel a little harder to breathe at first but then once i have them on i feel able to breathe just fine for the time it takes that i have to wear it (usually just the grocery store). wearing it while walking by someone on a walk outdoors is easy enough since i only have to wear for the short time it takes to pass them. masks have become my latest obsession (finding ones i like). i made my own out of tshirt material (grass green color) and for the ties over the ears i used pink satin ribbon. then i also bought two cotton gauze masks off etsy, one in mint green and one in fuschia pink. i just ordered two satin ones online the other day (one in cream satin and one in powder blue satin) and then also ordered one from one of my favorite project runway winners, erin robertson. she has a cute bright orange one on her website that i bought. i figure if i'm going to be wearing masks for the next several months to a year, may as well have a mix of reusable ones.

She is indeed a hottie! That is Erin Robertson, a clothing designer. I bought the mask she is wearing.

Thanks I blue ones are on Amazon and you just have to search for Surgical Masks to find them. They're all made in China by so many companies that it's not possible to give a specific one but if you search for that you'll find what's available.

If you make your own, use 100% cotton, launder them with a detergent only - not one with fabric softener (I use a "free and clear" one), and don't add any type of softener to the dryer because they leave a chemical film on fabric that can make it harder to breathe through.

finreporter, I thought it was you! I see a resemblence. cj59, yes, I get my blue disposable masks on Amazon. They are available at my grocery store now, but extremely over-priced.
